    Your use of the reciprocating saw always reminds me of how years ago when I first started working in home improvement I couldn't afford every tool I wanted out of the gate, so those that were daily use came first. Eventually I picked up my first Sawzall, and when the next bit of deconstruction came about - well let's just say it was an emotional experience (there may also have been some maniacal laughter). And not that you need to hear this from me, but your schedule is your schedule. And how you effect the work you do is how it gets done. I'll be enjoying every video.

    Me personally, I would put the stove on the same wall as the fridge on the other side of that window instead of next to the sink because I would rather have more counter space next to the sink. I like to have a dirty and clean side for my dishes. If that makes sense.

    I can totally understand with you on the house you sold because of renter's causing problems. That happened to our neighbor here in Texas where we live. The people had way more ppl living there than allowed and they also had pets which was against the lease. The woman who owned the house was so nice she tried working with them but had to get them evicted. The renters poured motor oil all over the carpet and destroyed the inside of the house. She was very upset and said she would never rent again, she fixed the house and sold it. My parents rented for over 10 years and was never late on rent and our landlord actually didn't want us to move. Renting is kinda like gambling you can win and lose depending on if the people you rent to are honest good people who care about the property regardless of if it is "theirs" or not

    • @mothersuperior6751
      @mothersuperior6751 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I agree.
      When we were renters we treated the house carefully and respectfully. Simply because it did belong to someone else.
      That despite it being student housing and the wall paper waved on windy days and the pink bedroom had a lime green door.

    To have the stove next to the fridge is not energy effiecent, the heat from the stove will make the fridge have to work hard to maintain the cold temperatures. They should always be apart from each other. I love to see slow progress instead of other TH-camrs who make it to be like a show. This is so normal!

    You could consider painting the floor with a solid color, it works quite well with pine and gives a nice bright room. Either white or light gray.

    a good trick I learned from a friend with apartments is to use silicone to attach a bathroom vanity to a wall because odds are it will get tore up over the span of certain renters and so if they do mess it up it comes off the wall with a razor blade and you just slap a new cheapo vanity back in.

    Are you going to collaborate with Demolition Ranch to demolish that basement pillar?
    5:00 Floor out of plane? Tapered furring strips! Not a suggestion, just an idea. Considering how quirky the house is, it's just best to embrace it like you would your best friend.
    21:16 Plus, you can reuse the screws.

    You are definitely your own man. Quite respectable. What is the music played in the 18-20'ish minute segment? It has some interesting sounds. Thank you.

    Maybe place the stove on the same wall as the fridge, just left of the window. That way there is counter top on either side of the sink and either side of the stove top. Would there be room in the corner for a lazy susan too?

    Do you out up signs in the yards of houses you work on? Like a sign that says "watch me reno this house on TH-cam!" Or anything? It could be a great way to get locals more interested both in your rentals and also contribute to your TH-cam channel.

    Maybe you should close off that window next to the fridge to make the cabinet layout flow better?

    I like vinyl plank, but I must admit the painted floors in the $5,000 house looked pretty good too before the tenants trashed them.

      Yeah, painted wood floors can look nice. A lot of people think it's an odd idea, but I have seen it in many beautiful houses in historic districts. Flawless million dollar houses.
