Wow Andrew another exceptionally informative Japan travel video to a special location ... the bike rental option between the two ropeways on each side of the peninsula is a great low-cost very pleasurable option, recommended ... Take the bus (or ebike) to Ine bay it's a fantastic destination and a 'must do' in the area ... Book an overnight stay in a Funaya (boat house) in Ine to experience the real feel of this unique area, or at least take the bay boat trip ... There are FREE use bicycles at the bus stop in Ine, don't overlook them like we did and wished we had known prior ... Andrew's bento from the supermarket is a SUPER tip 👍 ... No matter which options you go with just get to this area, it will remain as one of your best experiences in Japan. I have had it in my mind to return to and make it a multiple day stay.
Thank you for some exceptionally helpful additional tips!
Amazing Video! This helps a lot of people to get off the beaten path!
Thankyou, that's the idea!
Enjoyed your videos always. It might be a stretch for some folks but while they're at the coast, I'd add Amarube Station (station in the sky), Tottori sand dune and Kinosaki onsen.
Yayyy thank you I have been waiting for your Amanohashidate video ! Thanks for the tip...I'm going in the 3rd week of November and looking into accommodation atm, am hoping to stay in one of the Ine boathouses, thats my ideal :) Lisa, Brisbane
I was glad to finally finish this one as it's such a great destination! Hope you get the boathouse!
This definitely will add on to my bucketlist ❤❤❤
Thank you for this video.
Hugzzz n Love from Bali ❤❤❤
Went here last year. Stunning place. Highly highly recommend the ferry ride to get around. I had a very fun experience with birds flying alongside the ferry. They also have snacks you can feed them. I also walked the distance on the way back. Was a very pleasant night walk and also there's also a bit of a shore on either side to rest when i got tired.
Totally agree!
I'm looking to do a day trip there (don't think there's enough time unfortunately to do an overnight stay - schedule's pretty packed, maybe on a future trip where I return there), but will take your tips on board, thanks Andrew.
Now I yearn to visit Amanohashidate......
Well done.
Thank you for the useful, informative video. I enjoy your videos :)
Thank you!
Thank you for the guide, I do plan to go to Ine and Amanohashidate next year (mid January, so during winter). My current plan is to go from Kyoto to Amanohashidate then do a baggage drop, take a bus to Ine then go back to Amanohashidate during the evening (stay overnight in Amanohashidate). Do you think it is a good general itinerary or should I try to loosen up the schedule a bit more? Thank you
Yeah, that's a good way to cover both places. Not included in the video but there are a couple of great cafes in Ine so take your time over there.
Thanks so much for sharing! what do you recommend at Ine? Also, how would you rate the Tengo railway?
The boat tour is the best thing to do, although you could also check out one of the eateries there. The Tango Railway has some sightseeing trains that are also worth a look. I talk about them in my Hashidate train video: th-cam.com/video/A2iWvYmhFa8/w-d-xo.html
Hello andrew, if i use kansai wide pass is it covering all the transportation to here?
It will only cover the train to get here. Everything else is not included on the Kansai Wide Area Pass.
@@japanunravelled oke noted, thanks andrew for your answer
Hi! I have a question getting to Amanohashidate departing from Kyoto.
Can you please give pointers how I can reserve a seat on the limited hashidate train via jr west online website? I bought the jr kansai wide pass. Was able to reserve seats online for the Kix -> Kyoto, But cannot find the Kyoto -> Amanohashidate arrival station. Do I just reserve in jr west just the Kyoto -> Fukuchiyama? And then just stay on same train until it arrives amanohashidate? since kansai wide pass also covers that route, then no other extra reservation/payment?
And same help question for Amanohashidate -> Kyoto return route.
Thank you in advance.. 🥹
Good question for JR, so please ask them. Here's the English inquiry form for JR West: entry.jr-odekake.net/webapp/form/18254_cabb_37/index.do
@@japanunravelled thank you very much for this!
@@japanunravelled btw, I cannot find the "support" button to your ko-fi page. do I need to sign up there as well?
No, I had to temporarily disable it. I think you can do like superthanks or something here though if you want. Your kindness is much appreciated!
My wife and I have been buying our full JR passes via the JR official website and have gotten very familiar with the website. Back to your question - There is a final leg from Fukuchiyama on the Hashidate that is not covered by the pass. That is why you cannot reserve tickets for that portion of the train ride. Hope this makes sense.
