Great to see you back. You are one of the lads that really got me started homebrewing. Merry Christmas from a Vet in Ireland. Go Army!

I’m so happy I watched this. It saved me $3K. I was going down a rabbit hole chasing shiny objects (stainless steel objects) and other high tech gadgets. Now I realize that I don’t need a conical fermenter because glass carboys are indeed simple to clean. This rotary cleaning device makes it even easier! Also, I don’t need a whirlpool, and lastly, I DON’T NEED A CHILLER. Tempe AZ based Brewers Connection advises customers to do something brilliant and I kick myself for never thinking of it. You see, in AZ we have many options for buying RO water and RO ice in bulk. The simple time saving advice from Brewers Connection is to simply add 8-10lbs of RO ice directly into your wort after the boil. In doing so, you simultaneously get your required wort volume and desired pitching temperature. SIMPLE!!!!

Ah. Interesting suggestion. That's basically a traditional concentrated wort boil but instead of adding the hot wort to the cold water in the carboy, you're adding the cold (frozen) water to the boil kettle before racking to the carboy. The downside to it is that you need more hops to get the same utilization and that the added water is not sanitized giving a potential for infection. I haven't done concentrated wort boiling in years due to these reasons.

@@BEERNBBQBYLARRY Thanks for the feedback Larry! I’ll look for an emersion chiller then to lower the infection exposure risk. P.S. I’m super stoked about using your Excel brewing tool!

Nice to see that other options become available and you share the info with your subscribers.. I use the drill attached floppy paddle you mentioned (blue pads) to clean my kegs.. it works great. I don't ferment in a carboy luckily I can reach into my fermenter's and can clean them with a microfiber towel/ brush.. Enjoyed your live stream last night!

Not sure if spray ball will fit in glass carboy, At work for glass lined reactors we use spray heads which ensure cleaning solvents touch all inside surfaces during pump circulation. I have seen spray balls for smaller equipment.

I think our R/C hobbies will have to wait until warmer weather returns in late spring. I also need a new car. My last exploded and burned up from the battery bursting.

Sold all the glass carboys and now only use pressure vessels for lager and Cider or wide neck plastic with a tap for stouts and ales. It's the syphoning that sucks (ha ha). Its also easier when you dry hop.

I hear you. I still use my carboys alongside my other fermenters. They work great for bulk aging wine, and I can rack from them using CO2 without siphoning.

That’s pretty cool, if you tied in a pump with hot oxyclean it would probably work fantastically. Who wants to set all that up and take all that time for just one carboy. I can see this to be a great product for wine makers, especially if they have several batches going at once.

Yes. Too much work for a single device. I use my carboy cleaner rod for individual carboys.

I still use 2 glass 5gallon carboy's, have some ginger beer fermenting in both to drink over summer ⛱️☀️🌅. I use precautions like a nylon harness and Stainless Steel coated plastic handle helps. And 40L/10gallons of NZ Pilsner, so refreshing 😋🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🤭🥴😁

That one looks rather cumbersome to use.
