I can’t really say it’s hate but there’s a lot of misinformation about the group. People think it’s AI when it’s a virtual group like what Vtubers are. But I will say there’s people who do downplay the effort behind those characters. There are still real people behind them. There’s many reasons why people would debut as virtual idols, they may not fit into kpop beauty standards, might not dance the best (if the motion capture isn’t the members themselves. Although they might not be able to promote like a regular group like weekly idol I’m sure this will open up new and innovative ways for idols to promote themselves like that vtuber survival show.
This group can coexist with kpop, you don’t see Japan’s idols in ruins over Hatsune Miku (I’m aware she’s fictional person using a voicebank) but it’s a similar example.

@@mintealeafy The creators of the group claimed that the girls are "AI generated" and then of course there are real girls behind their voices and the mo-cap for the cgi video (which they finally added an "extended version" for that puts the credits back on the end). I think the way they tried to say that they never used real girls as the models is what is frustrating because it's taking even more credit away from the girls behind MAVE:
