I think the issue with the venues is the cost. Sure, they can attempt to do shows in places like North Dakota but would they make their money back or lose money on it, depending on how big the venue. Also, a lot of smaller venues in America have closed due to higher costs/inflation and COVID, so there's not as many of those around like there used to be. Also, it depends on the Western artist but the reason why they do those back-to-back shows is because it cuts down on travel costs since they're not just playing one time and leaving. Also, they can do those shows because that tends to be their only tour for the next 2-3 years.
I agree that sasaengs really got their start in 2nd gen but there there were some crazy ones in 1st gen and even before then. There was a famous Korean singer named Kang Susie who was popular during the 80's and early 90's. There was one time she did a show with a popular Korean male group at the time and their fans went crazy and put gum in her hair and slashed her tires.
