Definitely the best entrance ever. Thanks Mark! I was not sure of the exact date, but I searched this episode for years on TH-cam, I gave it a rest, and alas!
I hear you and remember only finding an upload of the Chilli Peppers many years ago... time to have my entire VHS tape transferred... Heather (looking great then) Locklear and well, I'm just grateful to have been there for a fun time.
This was amazing! I wish I could talk about this with my Dad. He watched Letterman faithfully, and it was a fun thing for us to discuss antics like this!

Yes, I could only find the Chili Peppers before so I'm glad I still have the entire show on VHS... Heather Locklear too!
"Brazil copaiba oil" miraculous for the brain.
Thank you!
It was a stunt guy. Studios do not allow their stars to risk injury.
what's next? you want to tell me that the blood is not real either?
I remember that, didn't he have shotgun pellets in his teeth too
Quite possibly though I couldn't say for sure. It was a hysterical very unexpected moment which caught us in the studio completely off guard.
