I bought trigger extenders and I didn't realize when I bought them that you have to disassemble the PS4 controller and replaced the actual triggers themselves but after watching this video I feel confident enough to do this
This was overall very helpful... the only thing I did not manage to do was reintroduce the little springs. Fortunately, I can still use my controller just fine. It's just that L2 and R2 are a bit "looser", but I'd like to try again sometime to see if I can reintroduce the springs. Unfortunately, in your video it's virtually impossible to really see how is it that you're putting the spring back into the button. When I try to do it, it just falls off constantly.
You probably have a different controller by now, but I’ll leave the comment anyways that I was able to install them by using a tweezer in one hand and guiding it with the other, there’s a specific spot that it will eventually snap into but it is quite finicky to get there

I had two controllers that mal functioning and I ended up breaking them tryong to open to fix it. It's bizarre, every video I watch you games taken them apart so easily, while mine it's like the parts only separate from each other when they break. One of them is a model similar to the one show in the video, when I tried to take the trigger off it (my current controller's is on the verge of breaking) and a just hurt my finger trying it.
They could be glued together by soda or hand grease or both

My r2 button will not come off that easy

This video was honestly helpful to me, my L2 button was stuck at first, then a few days ago I attempted to fix it myself and it barely worked. Now I just fixed it and it works perfectly, with the spring and all.
