I use le Flowlights by Flowtoys.com but trust me, it hurts a whole lot worse though the effect is unlike any other thing you've ever seen... I started of with plain old glowsticks :3 That hurt too.
If you use solid plastic LED poi, they do hurt. Casing don't make it hurt any less either, they only protect the poi. For my first month, my arms where 30% bruised :x But while it DOES hurt, its really rewarding to pull off something that takes so much practice and muscle memory. Poi is not for pussies, amirite? lul.
