The church is absolutely gorgeous. They built it with love. The Consecration was beautiful. Never saw anything like this in my lifetime and have been a Catholic for 65 years.
True worship of GOD is to defend orphans and widows and to keep oneself untainted by the world.
@@RPlavo Yes, but without the Sacraments instituted by Jesus Christ to His Apostles, it will be difficult to do anything good. You can offer Mass anywhere, but a Church is constructed to house the Blessed Sacrament, and a place worthy of the dwelling of Jesus Christ, and separate from the world, a dwelling of Prayer and Worship.

For those that think $42 million is a lot of a money for a building, it’s helpful to keep in mind that the Willard Bridge, a small project to the south of Saint Marys, was completed recently for about $25 million. Given the choice between the largest church in Kansas where all are welcome to come and worship or two bridges, I’d choose the church every time.

@@andym5995 local bishop is always welcome. The Sspx show up to the Vatican whenever called. Bishops of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) have been authorized by Pope Francis to ordain new priests without the approval of the local diocesan bishop.

Shouldn't THE ALTAR BE BY THE WALL like Archbishop Lafebvre used to celebrated according to Catholic Tradition?
The church was designed according to the tradition of the ancient basilicas in Rome, and elsewhere, which have free standing altars. This was the older arrangement, before altars were placed against walls, or Reredos. The SSPX issued videos explaining their decision to have such an altar, in the Immaculata.

1st Premise: JPII Ecclesia Dei; BXVI Ecclesiae Unitatem; Francis Traditionis Custodes: “SSPX not in full communion with the Church” (=schismatic=outside the Church)
2nd Premise: Council of Florence (1442): those outside the Church are not saved (=go to hell!)
Conclusion: SSPX are not saved (=go to hell!)
Why did Pope Francis grant faculties to the SSPX if they aren't within the Church? Your premises are inherently flawed.

They are not the same. Read the above papal documents I cite above. Don’t take the words of SSPX propagandists and even sympathetic bishops. They are not the magisterium of the Church. Take the words of the Popes through the decades who have judged the SSPX as in schism. Read them. They are easily accessible online. Read and think for yourself. After all you alone are accountable and responsible for the salvation of your soul.
They are in partial communion with the Pope. The granting of confession and marriage faculty to SSPX priest is an indication. SSPX always pray for the Pope in the Mass too.

Schismatics? Says whom? You? The claim is an old, tired, and worn out one, that was never true. The Church has never, in the 50 years of the existence of the Society, officially proclaimed them to be Schismatics. Which is a serious charge, that an uninformed and apparently, out of touch, layperson, has absolutely no authority to charge. By the way, the Holy Father himself, who was impressed by the work of the SSPX, while in Buenos Aires, has recently revealed to the retired Bishop Hounder, who now resides in an SSPX facility, that the SSPX are not in schism.
I Guess when you think you’re your own pope than you need to build your own Vatican. I’d prefer to attend a reverent mass that is in full communion with the Catholic Church

Like they’ve said they don’t reject the authority of the pope but won’t say they accept it, just to get started. And I’ve heard everything from someone going to a NO mass is a sin to a priest that was ordained after Vatican II isn’t validly ordained and that SSPX is the only true sect of the church left. It’s been a while since I’ve looked into it, and granted someone that attends an SSPX may not speak for all of the SSPX. I live in SW Missouri and have 8 Catholic church’s within 15-20 minutes and one of those is an SSPX church but generally don’t attend because of the crazy mixed messaging from the Church as well as from the SSPX
They don't proclaim to be their "own pope" or are doing things that aren't Catholic. The SSPX is preserving Catholic tradition in a time where the modern church has been shifting to fit modern culture.

You can give alms to the poor and give money for building a new church. I don't see the problem (for context: this church is financed by donations from the faithful). I could apply this reasoning to everything. Why do you buy a new car? The poor and homeless remain wanting.
And the foolish remain wanting for understanding, ignoring every charitable program that churches like these hold on their grounds to help the homeless and the poor.

They operate without any bishop’s approval and tell their followers they shouldn’t attend any masses except their own.
