Harry, it's going to be fun watching you build our new toy. You are absouletely right about build it once, build it right. The upside to building cars on the cheap in the past is what you learn from it (or from others). I too have built things on the cheap, but also not complete as I didn't have an end goal. The other issue I run into is that I have so many hobbies that I try to incorporate ways for the vehicle to accommodate each one. This leaves me with a half ass rig. So, this round when I purchased my 2017 Tacoma TRD Offroad 4x4 after four years of research prior to purchase, I have a goal, and have a plan. Now, after owning the truck for 3 years and 30k miles, I have been slowly building the truck the way I want it done, and either building everything myself (rack, bumpers, sliders, skids) or doing the install on as much as I have the capacity to do so on. The only thing that I will farm out is the regear to 4:88 and the added front ARB locker. I am also not financing any of this. I save up the money, pay with my credit card (for points, and purchase protection) and immediately pay off the card. I am focusing on keeping the truck as light as possible, only putting steel where it is appropiate for my planned adventures, and not bolting on every single thing that falls under "Overlanding" that is seen on FaceSnapInstaTwit. Up here in the USA, there are sooooo many rigs that "look" the part, but are nothing but porch boyscouts, all prepared with no intentions of ever actively going anywhere or using the gear they just spent thousands of clams.

Big Congrats mate! Been hanging for the reveal ever since you announced it!
I love that you got a prado. I recently got one and am building my first car for touring. Kaon are awesome.
Well done mate, looks great!! Really looking forward to seeing the build progress.
You really should appreciate that fact that it IS a Land Cruiser :) Enjoy it ! We love ours and all the "making it our own" we have done. If you are talking GVM upgrade, the internet will im sure give you all the options and suggestions under the sun, we opted for Pedders GVM upgrade, unlike what a lot of others do. Food for thought. See, made it a food related comment :) Stay safe and enjoy

I had the Kaon bash plates on my FJ, they were amazing. I think he 3D scans everything to make sure whatever he builds fits
I’m tossing up between KOAN and Bushskins for my FJ. Nice to see a good review for the KOAN’s.
@@FJUH The Kaon is awesome. The owner owns and FJ and built those bash plates from the ground up. Also Aus made!
Great choice. It'll take ya everywhere you need to go no questions
