When you have maker guests over you need to have like a scavenger hunt for them to try to find all the actual items you used as greeblies. That could be fun!
Since I've been watching not just your channel but Create Sci-fi Slice of Life Film Riot Punished Props And many others over the years. I've gained a new appreciation for product packaging. Like a unofficial aunt who taught me how to see faces in the patterns on linoleum flooring, I now see buildings for minature sets and parts for spaceships and room transforming decorations. Thanks to the channels mentioned and many others that have given me fuel for my imagination for the rest of my life.
So amazing. I'm lying in bed sick and have spent the entire day watching your videos and loving life! I wonder if you might somewhere have one panel that's hinged open with a bunch of wires hanging out like some renegade Smuggler's droid is in the middle of making repairs! Thanks for making recuperation so much more enjoyable.
Awesome look! Man that lazer cutter has saved your bacon more than once... :-) You are always telling folks use orange juice lids for things. Here is something I have used in building model cars and little scenes for them. If you need some domes with a flat top, You can take those little cups that you get mandarin oranges, peal off the foil, eat the oranges, wash out the cup, then turn it upside down and you have a dome. Of course you can orientate it anyway you want, as many as you want. Glue 2 together and you have a oil drum or something! :-) Just some off the wall thinking like you said goes along way. Oh! those little moisture barrel thing in pill bottles. Make great oil oil/fuel drums for you service truck at 1:25th scale... LOl Thanks for the video and all the challenging work! LLAP \\//
yea, its the showing all aspects of what you did under 12 min that blows me away. I will run an edit...and I'm like 59 min...what? I know it has to be cut drastically down...but what to keep and what to discard? Bravo...simply Bravo
Love the ceiling build. I've got a corner in my basement begging for something like this! Your laser-cut panels are cool and all, but those packaging inserts are freakin' awesome. I'll never throw a package away again until I pull it all apart and study it. Now if I can only learn the cut straight lines with my jigsaw.
This is one of the most informative channels on TH-cam. Everything you do could be applied to something else. (Even practical stuff around the house, but I wont tell anyone). I get so many GREAT idea's when I watch your channel. Keep it going, great stuff.
We need a school for people ,to learn what you know how to do, who don’t know squat about building…so they can then do what you are doing. I feel less than Luke when Yoda told him “That is why you fail”. If I had the ability to switch everything around the only thing that I would be doing other than Zen would be messing with radios, computers, working in the garden and doing these builds. Like this is literally all I want to do. I see it coming one day. What do I see? I foresee a time where there will be a show called “ULTIMATE SCI-FI BUILDS”. Now that’s a job I can be truly proud of that would be full of beauty.
I love you bro. The way you make things show the true heart you have. To me the most complete show of art, design, electronics and way more. Thanks for your work.
The integration is perfect. The lights to the angled panel to the wall with the poster and tech-gizmo... the flow is seamless, and looks like everything belongs.
Amazing👍 I love watching smugglers room on the weekend, it's both relaxing and educational👍 I got a new job that I love, Thank you Brian and Carissa for inspiring me to push the limits and have fun💖👍
I know you get a lot of parts from big box hardware stores, so in order to save you, and your viewers some cash, going to suggest you visit a non profit store, called, Restore (part of the Habitat for humanity project). They do not have 'regular' stock, but rely on donations from both the home owner as well as contractors, thus you never know what they might have laying around, from new parts and pieces to architectural salvage. Worth a trip, at least if you in the USA. I do not know if the project has stores in other countries. But Habitat does build houses all over the world, so they might. Just a suggestion, enjoying your videos, keep up the good work.
Wow. It is really coming together. Even though this was mostly gluing and assembling compared to other videos, I just loved watching it all slowly coalesce into that amazing corner panel. Seeing the cutaway with the greeblies down deep just made it feel like it was part of some functional ship. I can really feel what it is going to look like!
That piece looked great as a light fixture independently, but it really took on a whole other level of awesome once the whole thing slid into place. Tangentially related, I'm going to be in a lot of trouble when I break down and buy a laser cutter after one of these videos. (I'm sure it'll be worth it)
love your videos! me and my mom are designing my room like this in her new house! (my parents are getting divorced :'( its terrible i cant stop crying) they told us a week ago but anyways, thank you for making such clear tutorials on how to make these sort of things! definintly my fav youtuber!!
So sorry to hear about your parents, we wish all the best for you and your family. We hope our geeky videos can keep bringing you inspiration and something to smile about.
WOW!! You are next level, my friend! This build but the hyperdrive of inspiration at full throttle. Thank you, Brian, for all the hard work you put in and for sharing it with us.
I love greebles. I save my caps from insulin syringes, and other medical stuff from work lol. I wish I could make a "real" home theater with a Star Wars theme like this. This is beautiful, keep us updated.
Absolutely amazing work your patience is off the chart. I was thinking now I know why you won't complete this room. There will be nothing left to do and there will be that emptiness so I understand if you want to put it off for the next 10 years so you'll have something to look forward to 😁😊
Great work here! Great conversation piece. I'm a composer/musician but have recently been getting really interested in set design and have been watching your channel, VanOaks Props, and Hollywood Haunter for some time now. Very inspiring tip - "Make something out of nothing." Maybe one day when I get a small workshop set up, it'll be easier to do that!
ooh yeah, it's really coming together. Using the space behind the angled panel with the greeblies in the large cut out section is inspired. I still have concerns about your simply juice consumption but I guess it's for a good cause.
LOL! Thanks Luke! I think I would be more concerned if the lids were from beer instead of juice! LOL. The truth is all of my friends and family save these. I have a greeblie bin FULL . . . I'll never be able to use them all! LOL
Sorry Brian, I had to watch this twice because I was too busy jamming out to the music the first time through and wasn't paying attention haha Great video as always, thanks!
Love the design and depth. I keep trying to take advantage of my Disney+ subscription like a all you can eat buffet...but my ability to draw shapes for panels that I like keeps me up at night. Literally can's sleep as I try to reverse engineer the SW magic of panel lines...You definitely have mastered it and then some.
Thanks Garland! If it keeps you up at night my friend try taking inspiration over replication. That has always helped me in the past. Let those references give you a unique design of your own.
Totally amazing as always mate, I really need to finish my bar for the garden but it's been to bloody wet in the UK the last few months 😢. Fingers crossed the weather looks like its getting better.

If you find it a cool idea then Great, but another reason to suggest any ideas i Can't do myself, someone else doing a room build might read this and say...hey, that isn't a half bad idea and it would solve one of my own room build issues! Anyways, that's it. Another Fantastic video, so Thanks!!

What a great compliment to the lighting you designed. It’s great that you’re saving all that packaging from the landfill.
Thank you! It’s just our way of recycling 😉
Brian love the silver box like greeblies in the insets, it gives it a real industrial look. GREAT JOB!!!
That ceiling is looking great. Better than what's in the movies I think!

This might be a crazy idea, but I'd love to see you work in a live stream.

Fantastic suggestion! Those locations always have a variety of parts for low costs. Thanks for sharing that!
I just drove one of their locations yesterday. But wasn’t in the cards to stop in.
Beautiful stuff man, love the little panels for layers added to the build 😁. It's great to see that area taking shape now. Keep it up 😉
Thank you my friend!!
Such a necessary topic to cover. Thank you 🙏🏽
You are so welcome! Thanks for coming by to have a look!

Thank you Wayne

Yea! The detail with the extra deep area on the angled part looks interesting… you would think there was that much space behind… nice build!
