I get what she’s saying about being categorized as the “Indian actress.” There might have been a few times Charlize Theron was referred to as the South African actress, Kate Winslett the British actress or Nicole Kidman the Australian actress. But it’s not constant like w/PC. That being said, I do encourage people to check out PC’s body of Hindi films. It’s cool to see her growth through the years, especially with the films she’s chosen in more recent times. In some ways, I feel her US career has not yet allowed her the creative freedom that she has in India only because she’s still viewed as a “new” actress. I hope that changes because she has so much to give. Watch films like _Barfi, The Sky is Pink, or White Tiger_ and you’ll see what I mean.
