I was in Dusseldorf, and his speech was very powerful. The death threats could have been a rumor, he spoke out against it on I believe Facebook, then disappeared for 3 weeks, Igor spoke assuring his fans that he was safe, his mother also spoke, if I remember correctly.
People that work or have worked with him say he has a locked on vision of every song he performs, that he'll listen to his voice coach about something and confer with the musicians, take direction from Igor Krutoy it's his composition but ultimately it's his deal and he never waivers. Oppressive ruler’s, judgement, acceptance. Concerts start with Golden, Love of Tired Swan’s (written by Igor) always has the audience singing along in Russian, these are 2 of the concert anthems of course SOS, and they are ending with Screaming, sung in English, I suggest the Idol Hits version to see his rocker side, wonderful interaction with the audience. ❤️

His intention behind "War and Peace", as he said in an interview (paraphrasing): "I wrote this song in 2017 for people to understand that we are all equal, that we are responsible for the wellbeing of those around us, that if we talk to each other and treat each other with consideration, there could be no war. Children especially need peace to develop well. I hope I never have to see children`s tears due to wars again". Of course, his hopes were contradicted by cruel history repeating itself recently. Aside from this song, he composed the music for a few others of his. He is very involved in the musical arrangement as well, and the performance itself is his idea. The lyrics are either based on his idea and intent, like "War and Peace" and a few others, or if they`re written by others for him, he only accepts to sing a song if he feels a connection with it. And he also has some with lyrics based on kazakh folk songs or poems.

Golden also has a message of fighting oppression, you really see that in the Golden official music video, which I strongly suggest, you can see how he represents a Robin Hood, taking from the bad giving to those in need, has an upbeat sound like War and Peace, with a strong message. This song and lyrics he made in China to sing in Chinese so he passed the idea to a Chinese lyricist because the way to translate it would be very difficult from Kazakh to Chinese.

Actually, he has very beautyful and incredibly MV's. They all have deep meaning. He is a great actor too. Samaltau is about a young Kazakh who was forcibly recruited by Russia in 1916. He was forced to leave his home country and his elderly parents to go to war (WWI) and does not know what awaits him there as a soldier or how his elderly parents are to manage without him. The best version in my opinion is from the Tokyo Jazz Festival. It’s pure emotion.

Qairan Elim means Holy Land and is a prayer and an expression of fear about the fate of Dimash's country and the world in general. The MV is fantastic and he even directed it. The man, Renat Gaissin (a Kazakh composer) on the piano is also a friend of his and he has also written songs for Dimash such as River Of Love, an instrumental in which Dimash plays the dombra, and the song Òmir Òter (Ode to Life). The MV was presented of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence. Also a must see but switch on the subtitles. A masterpiece. Goosebumps!

All this songs is from DIGITAL SHOW he present during the pandemic , 2020 _2021, he sang more the 12 songs live , for his dears who buy the tickets , that concert was sold out long before that presentations , was beautiful amazing, and yes he wrote this song and many more, unforgettable day is another song he wrote .
Songs that speak against war: Okay (music video, new), Golden ( best message, music video), Love of Tired Swans( sounds like a love song, watch the music video, awarded best music video in Russia, the visuals really show the story, incredibly done) , so many songs about oppression. His entire family lives together, he is extremely close to his grandparents and Kazakhstan was formerly part of the USSR, so he has heard the stories. His biggest composer , Igor Krutoy is of Russian descent and Jewish. Even songs like Golden and Okay have a pop feel to them, but when you see the videos you really see what’s the intended message. Oppressive ruler’s, judgement, acceptance. Concerts start with Golden, Love of Tired Swan’s (written by Igor) always has the audience singing along in Russian, these are 2 of the concert anthems of course SOS, and they are ending with Screaming, sung in English, I suggest the Idol Hits version to see his rocker side, wonderful interaction with the audience. ❤️

He does have some MVs, and they are gorgeous, and also a lot of live performances cut out of concerts or other events and used as MVs for songs. But you are right, his voice sounds better, richer live, than it does in MVs. And even better live in the concert hall than live performances we see on youtube :) To answer your question : THIS song, he composed the music for it, the lyrics were based on his idea, and he asked a chinese lyricist to write them. His intention behind "War and Peace", as he said in an interview (paraphrasing): "I wrote this song in 2017 for people to understand that we are all equal, that we are responsible for the wellbeing of those around us, that if we talk to each other and treat each other with consideration, there could be no war. Children especially need peace to develop well. I hope I never have to see children`s tears due to wars again". Of course, his hopes were contradicted by cruel history repeating itself recently.
Aside from this song, he composed the music for a few others of his. He is very involved in the musical arrangement as well, and the performance itself is his idea. The lyrics are either based on his idea and intent, like "War and Peace" and a few others, or if they`re written by others for him, he only accepts to sing a song if he feels a connection with it. And he also has some with lyrics based on kazakh folk songs or poems.
He has many songs he has written himself, and some that were written just for him. Don't overlook his videos, some of those show things he hasn't done live, not that he couldn't, but it would be harder.

Nick, if you’re a fan of Queen, best of my recollection you are, The Show Must Go On. Singer 2017, his English wasn’t as good 5 years ago, but he definitely gets the incredible emotion of that song across, incredible cover by Dimash. Queen is his favorite rock band, so this will give you a song that you probably know and hear what Dimash does with it as a tribute to Freddie.

He wrote this song. He had the lyrics written by a Chinese speaking songwriter, but he directed what lyrics he wanted to be written. I believe the song was part of the thesis for his master's degree.
Dimash's speech during his Dubai concert was incredible. He is my "Pasha", and always will be. His soul is as beautiful as his music, and his efforts to bring peace is unprecedented. Leaders of the world should listen to his music and hear their people's voices through him.

Most songs Dimash sings are already existing famous songs (mostly his earlier stuff) or traditional songs- then another big chunk of songs are wrote for him or rewrote for him- by Igor krutoy the famous russian composer. And then Dimash DOES also write some of his own songs too- like unforgettable day and THIS song (tho he hired a poet to write the lyrics).
I read somewhere; Dimash wrote this for one of his two University Master degrees. This was for his thesis. Dimash wanted the lyrics to be in Chinese. He worked with a Chinese poet to get his thoughts down perfectly. I love this song!!

Any young man who sings in a 6 Octave Register and is pushing for a 7th has to have confidence when he walks on a stage. Dimash has been doing this for a very long time and is very set in his capability.
You should check out some Gabriel Henrique video's, with his Whistle Notes, which he can sing in Whistle Notes, he has a 6 to 7 Octave range and his Vocal ability is gorgeous while being technically sound at the same time, he is amazing!
