The HD line was created for film and television not for stills :)) so it will always misbehave when it comes to photos! I suggest mixing it a bit with a different powder you have in your collection or you can just get the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening powder which I have used on my celebrity clients for years and it's beautiful giving you a flawless finish. Hope this helps :) PS love watching you! Xoxo
Love that your personality is shining more and more recently!! You're getting so comfortable and confident in front of the camera!! Keep the videos coming! Would love to see a get ready with me for a night out or a day to night makeup look
If you like the eyeshadow sticks from By Terry (by By Terry? LOL) you definitely have to try the KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks... just putting it out there ;)
HAHA you are hilarious Amelia, its just the little random things you do that makes all your videos even better than it already was. Can't wait for all the reviews of products on your blog xx
i love the makeup forever HD powder, because it's super natural and fine. The girl in sephora warned me that you only need the smallest amount. I just barely touch the powder with my brush and swirl it in the lid, really working the powder into the brush before I apply it. It looks so beautiful and natural when you only apply a little! :)
I have the Bite lip mask and I felt the same way until I put a thick layer on at night. The thick layer resulted in waking up with super moisturised lips. Love it now and have ordered a second!
I have learned that HD powders and makeup are specifically made for you to look good in a HD recording camera, but not so much with flash photography. Flash photography cameras will create that white cast that nobody wants (just Google "Angelina Jolie powder" and you will see LOL) If you are oily, you could probably get away with tiniest amount, but if you know you are going to be taking pictures, better stay away just in case! I have this powder and love it for a day-to-day, non-picture day basis LOL. It's super smooth and really evens out my skin! Also, try the Makeup Forever Super Matte Loose Powder- it's a goodie when it comes to staying matte! Oh and I love your funny, quirky videos Amelia!!
For the HD powder, I believe it's 100% silica. That gives flashback. The HD is more for video, not flash photography. You're better off with something talc based for flash. ;)
amelia maybe you should try to apply the hd powder with a duo fiber brush. that's how i do it and i never get the gasper look on pics ;-) really like your videos and i think you're so lovely! kisses from brazil!
I love watching your videos! Your personality is contagiously upbeat and you celebrate moments like the MFE flashback photo. ;) it got me too Amelia. It got me too. I reccomend using the flashback to your advantage...I set just the inner corner (and cough the fine lines just under my eyes cough cough) with it. The rest I use my regular setting powder
I used to apply the HD powder and take a flash photografy of my face before I left home so I know where I needed to blend it better (with an eyeshadow blending brush)
Love your videos.. Try Using make up forever powder to set under eyes... Use it with a very light hand... I knew exactly where your story was going when you showed that setting powder haha Xox 💕💄
I tested both of the MUFE HD Setting Powder and the Mac Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder and i liked the Mac one better. It srsly makes a difference to your skin because it makes your skin softer, doesn't make you look like a ghost when photographed and the texture itself is softer than the MUFE one. Plus, its cheaper so you might want to try the Mac one :)
Bite Agave Lip Mask: I bought this for my chronically dry/flaky lips and felt it helped my situation... it is sticky/gloopy and I hate the packaging, but I like the product and find it stays on - a nice smoothing base for my lip color too.
Boscia is a beautiful brand. Their make up break-up cool cleansing oil gets rid of everything without leaving a film on the skin, and you don't need a flannel to remove it. I also love their Amino-AG Eye treatment and tsubaki oil. Xo
Make sure you check out Mac's relentlessly red lipstick, its so gorgeous! And my first ever mac lipstick (rebel) is still in its packaging, getting abit fed up of it now lol x
Fot the HD powder, I would use a powder puff, press the powder onto the skin then use a powder brush of fan brush and sweep of the excess :) you're my favourite youtuber!!!!!
Can you do how to find your shade of foudation and concealer and powder online because it hard for me to find all the brands i want to buy their foundation , concealer ......etc
Oh my gosh!!! I do!! It drives my family crazy!! I keep all my stuff in the boxes. It's like it is brand new each time ... And it keeps it protected. That or I am just plain crazy ;D I am So Glad I am not the only one though! I love your reviews. Thank you!
I used to study at make up for ever's academy, and the hd line is actually meant for hd filming not photography!:) the foundation works for photography though, but not the powder. The powder would look great in films though!
The bite lip mask is actually medical grade lanolin. Which is used by nursing mothers for chafing. You can get a ton for $9.99 in the baby section. It saved my chapped bloody lips. Great video!
The tarte stick concealer is better for blemish or hyperpigmentation coverups vs undereye. Try their Maracuja crease less concealer for under eye :) xoxo
You can return anything to Sephora even after you've used it! You can exchange for your shade too. Might help you not spend so much on two shades of the Tarte products.
Amelia! The Boscia ("bosha") cleansing oil is a little overrated since it's just okay for taking off face makeup, and for some reason their cleansers leave a weird film on my face. Out of all the cleansing oils I've tried, Shu Uemura is still #1! Also, w/the MUFE HD powder, try the pressed powder compact version instead. Much easier to travel with and the brush picks up much less product at once.
give the aesop oil another go - i thought the same thing but you have to use it for a week to see the difference, also once you work it into the skin its not sticky
Bosica is actually pronounced as "bosha". They have so many great products you need you try them! The cleansing oil you mentioned is actually really good. Too bad you can't get it. Also their Tsubaki oil and cleansing mask (forget the actual name!) are also great!
No makeup/natural makeup look with straight hair styling routine! Hope that makes sense lol. Would love to see a tutorial. You have gorgeous hair so would like to style mine the same. Xx
I always keep my products in their boxes for an unacceptable amount of time haha! Speaking of filters, you haven't experienced good filters until you've used Vscocam.. It is probably the best app I've seen for filters, it's free and it's just my best friend. And as an instagram junkie, I've been through a lot of editing apps!
Amelia I really recommend the Fresh Soy Cleanser, The brand Fresh in general is great! When I moved to the states it was one of the first brands I really was into.
If you love Tarte, maracuja concealer is the one. Creamy, full coverage. It rocks. And you were steered correctly on Bite, but you missed all their products that are amazeballs- gloss that tastes like fruit and had anti-oxidants, lipstick, and pencils. Sephora is the mothership!

It's always a good day when one of your favorite youtubers uploads a haul :D Haha I love you and your videos x
Your makeup is so gorgeous, as usual!
You're not alone on the hanging-onto-the-packaging front!
If you like the eyeshadow sticks from By Terry (by By Terry? LOL) you definitely have to try the KIKO Long Lasting Eyeshadow Sticks... just putting it out there ;)
Your skin always looks flawless! You're absolutely gorgeous, and I also love how you explain each product xxx
Oh and YES to a no makeup makeup look. Also, I'd love to see the Ombré Blackstars in action - pretty please? x
I have the Tarte products (Essie Button influenced indeed) as well and I love the liquid foundation so much. It's incredible!
A no makeup makeup look would be great! I love your videos as they are really fun but still really informative! Xxx
I think Valencia is my favourite filter too. It just brightens everything so nicely. AfterLight is such a great app too! I like Frost on there.
Your skin is always so flawless omg 😍
HAHA you are hilarious Amelia, its just the little random things you do that makes all your videos even better than it already was. Can't wait for all the reviews of products on your blog xx

Your foundation looks really good here!
I have the Bite lip mask and I felt the same way until I put a thick layer on at night. The thick layer resulted in waking up with super moisturised lips. Love it now and have ordered a second!

Use the powder under your eyes with a concealers brush! Thats my Favorite way to use It.
I used to apply the HD powder and take a flash photografy of my face before I left home so I know where I needed to blend it better (with an eyeshadow blending brush)
Favourite filter: Valencia! I would have to try the armani powder!! hahaha great video!
because of you I bought three of the ByTerry eyepens in frozen quartz, mystic rock... and I am smitten!!!!!!!!
I love the marc jacobs concealer it works so well

can you please list the shades that you are in the foundations that you talk about?
Amelia, how did you choose your colour for the makeup forever HD foundation? It's so expensive so I don't want to get the wrong colour
Can you please do a handbag collection? Love your choices and I'm looking for a new handbag to buy!
I'm so excited that sephora is shipping to uk am awaiting my first delivery :) great video you always recommend such great products
Amelia can you please do an everyday makeup routine? (:
Great now I want tart foundation!!! Love your videos
The tarte stick concealer is better for blemish or hyperpigmentation coverups vs undereye. Try their Maracuja crease less concealer for under eye :) xoxo
Natural makeup look would be great !x
You can return anything to Sephora even after you've used it! You can exchange for your shade too. Might help you not spend so much on two shades of the Tarte products.
Great haul/mini review video :) Could you do a video of your makeup look in this video?

Hi Amelia, do you find the Chantecaille gloss sticky on the lips? And do please film a no make up look.
I have the Korres primer w/ the brown cap. It feels empty but it has lasted months for me.
Please do a no makeup makeup routine for like spring/ summer!
give the aesop oil another go - i thought the same thing but you have to use it for a week to see the difference, also once you work it into the skin its not sticky
AMELIA NEEDS MORE SUBS!!!!!!!!!!
Obsessed with afterlight too!!

Haha oh dear!!!!

Sephora now ships to the UK?! I had no idea. That's so awesome
Bosica is actually pronounced as "bosha". They have so many great products you need you try them! The cleansing oil you mentioned is actually really good. Too bad you can't get it. Also their Tsubaki oil and cleansing mask (forget the actual name!) are also great!

I love vscocam in the filters f2 and t1!
Boscia products are AMAZING!!!! The have excellent skin cleansers that are without any sulfates so your eyes don't burn :).
Amelia I really recommend the Fresh Soy Cleanser, The brand Fresh in general is great! When I moved to the states it was one of the first brands I really was into.
Have u tried the fresh peony brightening night mask? I want to try it but its too pricey for a small tube...
Which curling wand did you use on your hair in this video? It looks lush! x
Russ is the best afterlight filter :)
My favorite filter is chrome, it's one of the filters on the iPhone 5S ;)
Please do a minimal make up tutorial ☺️
Hi! I was wondering which shades you brought in the tarte mineral foundation?
If you love Tarte, maracuja concealer is the one. Creamy, full coverage. It rocks. And you were steered correctly on Bite, but you missed all their products that are amazeballs- gloss that tastes like fruit and had anti-oxidants, lipstick, and pencils. Sephora is the mothership!
i keep the packaging (for a while) all the time too haha
Would love to see your no makeup makeup look ♡♡
PS. can you do a whats on my iPhone/how I edit my instagram pictures?
How do you find your shades?
what colour did you get in the makeup forever and the tarte full coverage foundations?
What shade did you purchase the Tarte foundation and powder foundation in?
I just love you amelia 😃 you inspired me to be beautiful 😃
What would be your recommendations for sephora as I am going to America soon and wanna know what their best products are! Thanks xx
U should do a makeup collection:)
amelia how did you figure out your tarte foundation colour?
