That is where the matter hangs. channels tv is a privately owned television that needs money to stay afloat. The poor will not have money to pay for the airtime. These accomplished politicians don't mind spending from their advantaged purses just to speak for their colleagues in politics. Where then is the Nigeria of the common man?

My bad, the ways Nigerian politicians think is different. They feel that they cannot respond to our concerns because they don't want to be seen as weak and we would also undermine then. The president will not address us personally but other are speaking direct to our concerns but pushing a different narrative. Don't you why? They feels and know that our votes don't count, until our vote counts, we would be able to old them accountable.

Tunde, you just nailed it: Nigerians are not so difficult to convince and talked to! Any leadership in Nigeria should be thankful to his Creator to lead in Nigeria because our people are so gentle and quick to forgive and give our politicians a second chance, a 3rd etc! We’re not a violent people politically! I’ve traveled alot in Nigeria and seen different tribes and people in Nigeria, different religions and cultures, we are not as divided as bigots and political infants tend to make it look!
A smart leadership that means well, whose principles have led to untold hardship, or increased the sufferings of the people, in humility can come out and speak to the people from the heart (without needing his ignorant and corrupt spokespersons eg Wike and Bayo to open their mouths and vomit nonsense and insults)! Am so convinced, that’ll go a long way to calm the tension in the country!
Even those supporting or making media rounds to defend the present government and its policies, know that the situation in the country is in a state of economic and social quagmire and it’s unacceptable in 2024!
One way of acting wisely is to
for the president to speak to the masses not from some useless scripted work, but from the heart!
We all know that since 99, let’s be frank, only one leadership meant well and that’s not ObJ, not even Jonathan but Yar’dua! Every other leadership ran the nation as though it was their own business and private investments! Corruption that we complained about during the military era, became institutionalized and implemented with impunity after May 29, 99: corruption even became worst than the known dictatorships before the 25years of democracy!
Tinubu, let’s face it and let me say this to you: we love you and we don’t want you to be the president that led the nation into present day Yeman, Libya, Sudan, but we want you to see this moment as a moment to write you name WITH GOLD, how? You can break from the *culture of taking the masses especially the poor for granted, and move the ship from sinking waters, take drastic decisions now! Let heads role in your government! Remove men you know that majority of Nigerians know to be masters of corruption eg Wike who respects nobody and talks complete trash! Remove your ministers and try them those that have embezzled funds. Address the price of fuel etc! Tinubu you still have much time!

After viewing all the pressures coming down on our before now "heartless leaders" from the propose national protests by great Nigerian youths, and the positive response so far from the government. I believe Nigerian citizens especially the youths should give the government or our leaders a second or last chance to fix the country Nigeria as they have started working towards Positivities in their actions daily. Nigeria belong to us all, we can only have a country called Nigeria to have a better lives ahead. Youths have made their points very clearly n the leaders knows the strength of youths now clearly. So don't let yourself b use by anyone or some enemies of our well being as great Nigerians as they benefits more in such evil situations. God bless Nigeria! God bless Nigerian youths!!

A problem well defined is a problem half solved. A situation where a government believes there is no problem means they cannot be part of the solution. The government is not strategic in their handling of our socio-economic and political challenges. The government should see the chatter of demand presented by the youths as the statement of the problem of Nigeria and taylor thier policies and strategies towards the solution of these problems. The leadership continues pleading alibi, blaming past governments of current challenges shows they are bereft of ideas as far management and leadership ideas are concerned. They should organise periodic management courses for themselves. Strategic management is based on environmental scanning of current situation not history as this government wants us to believe.

Fayose is not making sense. If people are unruly and dishonest, whose duty is it to keep them in check? It is the government. Nigerians are not worse than Americans, but the American government is working to keep order. Therefore, it is right to blame the government when there is no order. Fish rots from the head.

First, it is easy for President Tinubu to say that the APC government, led by President Buhari since 2015, should be excused and that we Nigerians should separate this current APC administration from the previous government. This assertion is not only laughable but also absurd, as some of Tinubu's protégés were part of Buhari's administration, and some who served in the old administration are now serving in Tinubu's government. They are blaming their own party's previous government for running the nation down.
The more they speak, the more it becomes evident that Nigerians are being taken for a ride. Government is a continuum, and our politicians, irrespective of their party, must come with equity in their hands.
President Tinubu's team should stop telling us that the economy was on its knees before they came to power. The same rhetoric was used before they took over, and we are tired of hearing these excuses. The blame game is over; it is time to act. They should not forget that history has a way of recording events, and the narrative that "we can see what President Tinubu did in Lagos" suggests it should not be difficult to replicate success. The truth is that this current leadership is lacking, as evidenced by the performance of the cabinet.
Leadership is about influence, and we are not seeing it across all aspects of the economy with President Tinubu's cabinet's performance. The ministers keep telling us that they are here to speak to us about the President's agenda and are very passionate about it (for example, women affairs minister). However, the President's policies are not working, and it is not unreasonable for Nigerians to demand good governance. The government is taking us to a worse place than where we were.
The government's message of hope and restoration is fading fast, even under the foundation of "renewed hope." We cannot simply sit and do nothing as the country plunges into obscurity and doom. The government should rethink its approach going forward, as we demand tangible actions, not empty promises.

This is the first time in my life that I would see Government at all level pleading with Nigeria over the intending protest and this is simply because the president is a Democrat. People pleaded with Buhari before he could address the nation during the Endsars protest. No need for the protest !!!

The government is going on the wrong way, but for the first time in 50 years, Nigeria now have it's own refinery and selling crude oil in naira. We all need to support Mr. Dangote, and President Tinubu. Not crying for hunger. Let's Nigerians religions leaders invest in farming for their members. Let's there be full prosecution of the law against qny criminal on our streets.

Thanks Sheun for your sense of humours around your questions passed on your invited guests tonight and I believed that the ‘Peaceful protest should progress without any form of intimidation or allows the husking to hijack it.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed is not Jesus Christ or Prophet Muhammed (SAW). Hence as human, he should by now make an ‘Apology’ to the disappointed citizens of Nigeria for his lapses and oversights.
By now, he ought to have analysed where he gets it wrong and right here ask to bring in board, notably the leaders and to collect and sieve in details all they, the protesters are demanding.
If however, he can do all these, then by now he would have gotten some sort of empathy and support for admitting he git few things wrong as a human being.
Then such appeals will have soften the minds and hearts of the 1st of August protest ring leaders leaders, or whoever they may be.
Hence : @Two wrongs can never be made ‘Right.’
There is no need to disturb the youth of our country if they decided there is a need for a genuine and peaceful protest at any times.
The duty of the government will be to ensure that, such protest is not hijacked by hoodlums or sabotaged by the police men, who are meant to discharge their roles as expected as deemed necessary.
I therefore hope that nothing will happen that will throw the face of the protest in a ‘Hyperbolic’ shape and cause mayhem that is avoidable.
Everything is in the hand of the Almighty and so he will guide both sides cautiously and peacefully on the first day of the coming protest.

Generally, humans are expected to be destructive in nature when there's no law or an enforcer. It's a shame to hear someone who has been in government to say the citizens are the problem. What then is the job and responsiblities of the government???? What a sad thing to say on national TV. we need to take a cue from countries that has a turn around time of less than 10 yrs, go see El savador or Argentina, or India
