    I just bought a 2006 Civic EX and the rear passenger window would not roll down or even make a noise from the main control switch and rear passenger switch. The switch is slightly different on mine but this same method solved my problem. I just cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and put it back together. Thanks for the helpful video! You saved me from buying an expensive window regulator that still wouldn't have solved the problem.

    Great video. Thank you very much. I have a 2006 Honda Civic LH sedan. The only window that worked was the driver’s. When I took the unit out of the arm rest I noticed that the rear connector seemed loose. I pushed it in and heard a satisfying “click.” Now all the windows work from all switches plus the driver’s window auto-up and -down function works again. Would never have tried it if not for your video. Probably saved me considerable $$$$$$!

    This video helped me fix the passenger side window not working, but not how you think. The solution was at the very end of the video when you made mention of the window lock button. (face slap!) Problem fixed, lock button was on. This 2011 Honda civic is my first Japanese car and just learning the many subtle engineering differences. Bought it for my daughters first car. I've always owned American made cars. I was pissed at first because we just got the car last week and thought we had problems already with it. DOAH!!!!! Stupid meter pegged on this one. Thanks

      My Chevy Volt was my first US car. Love it. But i also love all the Hondas, Toyotas and Nissans i owned over the years. This button issue happened 8 years into owning my civic. But my 2007 accord still works fine. Oh well

    You are a fricking champ, this worked for me and saved me $$$$. My case was slightly different. I took my master switch out, but could not go any further than pulling the caps off to clean them as they were sealed and soldered. I had a thought, swap my working back passenger window switch with the non-working front passenger one. That worked, so this told me it was the switch (not the master one) or any broken wires. I pulled that switch apart just like in this clip, only scratched the muck and cleaned with rubbing alcohol and a cotton tip, put it all back and it WORKS now. Thank you very much.

      do you mean the light in the Master Switch? or in the door panel... If its the Master Switch (that controls the windows... you will need to pop out the switches and resolder a new LED lamp on it) Its easier to just buy a new master swich if you care about having it lit. If its the door panel they clear covers pop off and you just replace the bulb.

    The Honda City 2006 is different. The contacts area was placed sideways! And its plastic cover clips on above and below. Its easy to pry off the top part of the cover, but the bottom I found hard to reach. Forcing the bottom, the area that might have been gently lifted if accessible broke. Anyway, I cleaned the contacts, reassembled the tiny parts, and clipped on the damaged cover, and hoped for the best. It worked! Lucky me.

      I am hoping this is my issue. My rear passenger goes down, but won't go up (can't even hear anything kicking in, or trying to move.) My master controls also do not work (intermittently-my master door lock will lock and unlock, and sometimes the rear window will move too.) This is really giving me hope! A replacement master switch costs at least $130 (96 Honda civic LX.)

    Could not get my passenger window up yesterday, so today went through this whole procedure. My Civic is 2009 so the switches were a little different and I could not remove the cover. However, I did squirt a little WD40 inside the switch to help dissolve any corrosion. This guide was a great deal of help. However, I reassembled the power window console and my passenger door window still would not go up or down. That's when I discovered that neither of the back windows worked either...hint...hint...so it dawned on me what was wrong...I must have accidentally depressed the window lock button (a button I never use, not having kids) while the passenger button was down. Problem solved!

    OK so I've read the comments I've watched your video , I'm going to go ahead and try this. My 07 honda civic has exactly the same switch panel as yours . First my drivers side window was really temperamental and would only go all the way up or all the way down now it won't go down at all and I can't control passenger or back windows with drivers side panel I know they should work and it's not a fuse as all 4 lights that are on the top of each of the switch connector boxes so 🤞 I'll let you know if I can resolve this or if I break it even more lol .

    Thank you for posting this. I'm having the same prob out of my driver's side window and already went the cheap route in the winter to fix my AC compressor, well I didn't, I rerouted it without now I'm smoldering like a bitch and regretting it. Ugh lol smh Thanks bro.

    Hi Sterling Wong, I have Honda Civic 2007 and my door window at driver side is not working only. I blew it out and sprayed WD40 and put it back but still not working. Please help me : (

    • @SterlingW8
      @SterlingW8  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nelo Arellano ... WD40 is a solvent. Thats why i used alcohol rinse and white lithium grease after the cleaning. It maybe some other issue with your switch. I found that they make 3rd party switches they sell on the Internet for about 45 to 60 bucks, it may be easier to switch it out with a new one.
