    That was beyond cool! I have gotten a lot further on the needles than I have the looms here... just some how, it's easier for my dunder headed brain to understand. I've made tons of hats and scarves on the looms though. This one, is going to be one i watch numerous times for sure. I am SO glad I ordered the hard copy book from leisure arts, it's amazing! What you guys have done with the conversion charts and all the calculators have been tremendous help here! Just AMAZING! Thank You!

    I have a question: I am not really a good knitter and I’m knitting just for relaxing. So I don’t have much time to learn how to do it. There are some needle patterns or crochet patterns I’ve found in internet. Could you please convert them into loom patterns and make videos to them? That would be just great 😃👍🏻
    Thanks a lot!!

    Hi Kristen!
    You are so very helpful with all of your videos! You’re the only one I understand every time. Sometimes there are other people’s videos that either A, have terrible lighting/ camera quality (and they also must not rewatch their videos because sometimes what they are trying to show you isn’t even in view of the camera!) So I really appreciate you!!
    I’d also like to ask you a question, can a crochet pattern be converted to a knitting loom pattern? Or I guess even just converted to a knit pattern because I could just watch this video to convert it to a loom after its converted to a knit pattern.

    Hi Kristen! Love the name GoodKnit Kisses . . . I am a new loom knitter and I have never learned to actually knit with the knitting needles. I don't know terms and stitches and was wondering if you have done begginer tutorials that will teach me what all the terms are and how to do them on the loom. I am in the process of knitting my first sock and I am loving it so far but I want to liven up my pattern with different designs in the leg and top of the foot. I have watched several of your tutorials so far and can't wait to get started on something a little more challenging. Thanks for your videos you are doing a fantastic job.

      ByteAngel Xi Thank you so much!! Congrats on getting started! Yes. I have several hundred videos showing loom knitting. Many of them are beginner level. Please check my playlists page for different playlists. You can also sort by earliest videos if you like to see what I made a while back. They are a totally different quality of course and my knowledge and skill has also grown since then. I do have a beginning loom knitting playlist that I put in order of how I think it’s easiest to learn. You’ll start to learn the terms as you go. I have plans to remake several of the videos and put them into a specific order as I go but that is further away. This should be great in the meantime and should have lots to keep you occupied for now and learning. Thanks so much for reaching out!

      @@lovealwaysmom the crochet ones are going to be tricky of possible
      I'll have to try out some different approaches on a loom myself to see what could work best
      The sweater should be easier to convert as you can use an adjustable loom to increase and decrease the stitches and some yarn and stitch markers to help with working in sections
      I'll get back to you after I've tested out some ways to try and recreate the stitches as much as possible
      It won't look the same since knitting is more like working in the post of a stitch instead on top of the stitch when you compare them to each other in a crochet perspective

    Hi Kristen-- if you’re using a knitting in the round pattern do you go back and forth on the loom (left to right, right to left, left to right etc.) or do you simply work in the same direction each time? (Clockwise for all of the stitches)?

    Hi!!! This was a fantastic video!!! I was wondering if you could please clear something up for me that I couldn’t find?
    I have a pattern that states for me to M1 - Increase by picking up the horizontal loop between stitches from front to back and knitting into the back of it
    But it’s in the pattern as follows: (K1, M1) 11 times, K2 (24 stitches) and I’m... so lost and confused and bit off way more then I can chew! Please help?

    • @GoodKnitKisses
      @GoodKnitKisses  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ambrer hi there! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. For your pattern help: you will be adding 11 stitches. So you will knit 1 stitch and then make a new stitch by picking up the bar and placing on the next peg. Then Ewrap that peg (which is also a knit it through the back loop in needle knit.). However it will be on top of the next stitch if you don’t move stitches over to make space. So you may need to, if your knitting isn’t too tight, move over the row stitches to make room for all the new stitches to be made. However if the row starts off this way you can just knit your first stitch and move it outward 1 peg and then knit your make one to place on your now empty peg. Then you have to repeat this step 10 more times. So then the first two stitches pick up and move outward of the row by one stitch. Now knit your next stitch and move to the empty peg. Now you can make another stitch again and place on the new empty peg. So now you have to repeat this 9 more times. So then you have to move the last 4 stitches you worked outward again to make room. Just keep repeating. Once you are done you should have 2 stitches left in your row so you just knit those two. There should now be 24 stitches on your loom. So that row had started off with 13 stitches. I hope this makes sense.

    thank you for this video and for the blog as well explaining this!(AND for that calculator) i now understand how to convert a square or a rectangle and also how to convert specific stitches. but how does one convert a T shaped pattern? (a very basic sweater knit in 1 pc). i’m not sure how to convert the cast on of extra stitches when it comes to the sleeves. do you have any advice? please & thank you so very much!!

    • @GoodKnitKisses
      @GoodKnitKisses  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh my gosh I'm so sorry I didn't see this before. You can use it to cast on the smaller or larger part first and then use the numbers to know how many stitches you need to either decrease on each side or increase to make the wider part. Check out my video on the hooded cowl. It had a similar design.

    Ok, let’s see if I under stand this. My first row says (RS) K4, *p4, k4; rep from * to end. Row 2 (WS) P4, *k4, p4; rep from * to end. So to correctly do the second row I would read that from the left side

    • @GoodKnitKisses

      No. Row 2 is still read from left to right. However each individual stitch is oppositely made. So the revised row would read: K4, *p4, k4; rep from * to end.

    Why pick a complicated pattern for first time conversion ?

    • @GoodKnitKisses
      @GoodKnitKisses  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have other videos about converting on this channel. And when I have talked about the most basic way people wanted more complicated patterns. This one isn’t complicated it’s just the next level from basic. At the most basic level you knit the purls and purl the knits that were listed for the wrong side row in order to make it a right side row. I do have a website and you can click the link in the description for the blog that gives you a chart and how to convert simply. I hope that helps.
