That happens because it's so ill-defined. Few people genuinely think that black lives don't matter. The problem is that when people say black lives matter, they mean a lot of different things which have a lot of different degrees of validity to them. It's the same with defund the police. It's way too short of a slogan to express any particularly meaningful position. We can't literally defund the police and expect any good to come of it, without doing other things like allocating that money to alternate ways of addressing the same problems and really doing that before the defunding. But, that isn't an automatic assumption that comes from the slogan and there are a few people who literally mean, defund the police and call it a day. (Admittedly that's fringe)

One issue with the BLM (Black Lives Matter) organization that I’ve heard from multiple people is that they are apparently against the idea of a nuclear family, which many people don’t like. That is the exact reason why my dad doesn’t like the BLM organization. It’s not that he dislikes black people, it’s that he hates how the organization is against the idea of a nuclear family or having a father figure in the family as he loves being a father in a nuclear family household. I’ve never looked into this myself because frankly, I just don’t care and I personally suck at research. I’ll let people think what they want of me based on my own actions, not me going out of my way to say Black Lives Matter whenever I get the chance.
A couple of people in one state started an "official" BLM group, ostensibly trying to organize, group together, and create a main power structure for Black Lives Matter activists. In truth, these people were both scam artists who stole as much as a few hundred thousand in donations by basically running a sham organization, after which both dissembled and fled. I don't know if they were caught or if anything was even held against them, but they gave BLM as a whole a bad reputation. A lot of people who talk about it being an organization, it being terrible, it being fraud, stuff like that, are unknowingly referring to this scam organization. True Black Lives Matter activists are just normal people, across this and other countries, who generally aren't involved with taking or spending money, much less spending it like that small organization did. All it did was money the waters and give haters ammunition, because they don't have to look very far or google very hard to find some kind of information they can abuse to pretend like everyone in this country is related to those two people and their sham organization.

People disagree with the actions of the Black Lives Matter organization. The name is intelligent, because nobody on this Earth is going to say they disagree with "Black Lives Matter" as a statement. The way around that is to say the abbreviation. The idea that abbreviating black lives matter to BLM is a way to dehumanize black people or protesters is absolutely one of the stupidest ideas I've ever read. The only reason conservatives abbreviate it is to not associate black people with the organization. The video was funny though, I liked it.

Black lives matter did end up taking a turn for the worst however. Whilst the initial movement was good, it went from a protest to a riot so quickly that people who weren't even involved, just had stores in these areas, suffered. The idea was great, execution made things far worse than they were before.
@oddity1769 exactly. People think if you have any problems with the movement you are racist. That's not the case. More damage was caused by good. Oh yay we got one guy in jail! We also caused innocent people so much financial debt and harm and may or may not have killed a few people.
There were a lot of bad faith actors in the protests; Off duty police and counter protestors who deliberately broke windows and destroyed property to give reason for authorities to shut down the protests. There were also multiple "companies" that claimed BLM, the most notorious one used the donations not for political change but for mansions. The entire movement was hijacked by selfish opportunists and clever counter-protestors. That said, any person or corporation who presents a BLM flag or pin is surely showing support for black Americans, in the same way someone with an NRA flag supports legal gun ownership and not school shooters or armed robbers.
@WestAirAviation that isn't what I'm saying. The negative light around the "protests" which those bad people made riots that gives it a bad name. So people calling the movement a terrorist organisation aren't being racist, its just what it looked like. If it was any other protest they'd be universally looked on as rioters and terrorists, even if most of them weren't doing bad. Although I'll agree, all lives matter was a stupid rebuttal, the organisation was sloppy and ended up causing way more harm than good. I'm pretty sure people actually died BECAUSE of it.

I'll make a *rough* analogy, but if a bunch of assholes looted stores during HOPE breast cancer awareness marches, and two days later the largest breast cancer fundraiser was found to be funneling the money into mansions, *no one* would rip pink ribbons down from storefronts or yell "Fuck Breast Cancer Awareness!". The vitriol to the term Black Lives Matter is exclusive to the Black Experience. If the same happened to any other troubled demographic, we'd see a different reaction. There's something about it being Black Lives that invites far more animosity than would otherwise be rational in comparable circumstances, especially given the underlying intent of the phrase.

Some people are racist but deep down not racist (yeah ik it's weird), they oppose Black Lives Matter but they avoid feeling bad and like a dehumanizing jerk by using the acronym BLM. Some people think that by saying "Black Lives Matter" is excluding the other people of other races and implying that they don't matter. BLM just seems more broad in that sense. Now of course, this is a somewhat stupid reason to say BLM instead of Black Lives Matter, but it does make sense why people think that this is the case. The issue is not that they don’t think black lives matter. It’s that they disagree with an activist organization called that. leftist organizations have a tendency to call themselves stuff that is very one agrees on, but then they add other stuff that had nothing to do with it. That happens because it's so ill-defined. Few people genuinely think that black lives don't matter. The problem is that when people say black lives matter, they mean a lot of different things which have a lot of different degrees of validity to them. It's the same with defund the police. It's way too short of a slogan to express any particularly meaningful position. We can't literally defund the police and expect any good to come of it, without doing other things like allocating that money to alternate ways of addressing the same problems and really doing that before the defunding. But, that isn't an automatic assumption that comes from the slogan and there are a few people who literally mean, defund the police and call it a day. (Admittedly that's fringe)

One issue with the BLM (Black Lives Matter) organization that I’ve heard from multiple people is that they are apparently against the idea of a nuclear family, which many people don’t like. That is the exact reason why my dad doesn’t like the BLM organization. It’s not that he dislikes black people, it’s that he hates how the organization is against the idea of a nuclear family or having a father figure in the family as he loves being a father in a nuclear family household. I’ve never looked into this myself because frankly, I just don’t care and I personally suck at research. I’ll let people think what they want of me based on my own actions, not me going out of my way to say Black Lives Matter whenever I get the chance.
A couple of people in one state started an "official" BLM group, ostensibly trying to organize, group together, and create a main power structure for Black Lives Matter activists.
In truth, these people were both scam artists who stole as much as a few hundred thousand in donations by basically running a sham organization, after which both dissembled and fled. I don't know if they were caught or if anything was even held against them, but they gave BLM as a whole a bad reputation.
A lot of people who talk about it being an organization, it being terrible, it being fraud, stuff like that, are unknowingly referring to this scam organization.
True Black Lives Matter activists are just normal people, across this and other countries, who generally aren't involved with taking or spending money, much less spending it like that small organization did.
All it did was money the waters and give haters ammunition, because they don't have to look very far or google very hard to find some kind of information they can abuse to pretend like everyone in this country is related to those two people and their sham organization.

People disagree with the actions of the Black Lives Matter organization. The name is intelligent, because nobody on this Earth is going to say they disagree with "Black Lives Matter" as a statement. The way around that is to say the abbreviation. The idea that abbreviating black lives matter to BLM is a way to dehumanize black people or protesters is absolutely one of the stupidest ideas I've ever read. The only reason conservatives abbreviate it is to not associate black people with the organization. The video was funny though, I liked it.
Most people who use the abbreviation just use it for the sake of shortening their sentences but the people who are deluded into thinking Black Lives Matter is a terrorist organization are most definitely using it to get around the fact that they’re disagreeing with Black Lives Mattering.

Black lives matter did end up taking a turn for the worst however. Whilst the initial movement was good, it went from a protest to a riot so quickly that people who weren't even involved, just had stores in these areas, suffered. The idea was great, execution made things far worse than they were before.
@oddity1769 exactly. People think if you have any problems with the movement you are racist. That's not the case. More damage was caused by good. Oh yay we got one guy in jail! We also caused innocent people so much financial debt and harm and may or may not have killed a few people.
There were a lot of bad faith actors in the protests; Off duty police and counter protestors who deliberately broke windows and destroyed property to give reason for authorities to shut down the protests. There were also multiple "companies" that claimed BLM, the most notorious one used the donations not for political change but for mansions. The entire movement was hijacked by selfish opportunists and clever counter-protestors.
That said, any person or corporation who presents a BLM flag or pin is surely showing support for black Americans, in the same way someone with an NRA flag supports legal gun ownership and not school shooters or armed robbers.
@WestAirAviation that isn't what I'm saying. The negative light around the "protests" which those bad people made riots that gives it a bad name. So people calling the movement a terrorist organisation aren't being racist, its just what it looked like. If it was any other protest they'd be universally looked on as rioters and terrorists, even if most of them weren't doing bad. Although I'll agree, all lives matter was a stupid rebuttal, the organisation was sloppy and ended up causing way more harm than good. I'm pretty sure people actually died BECAUSE of it.

I'll make a *rough* analogy, but if a bunch of assholes looted stores during HOPE breast cancer awareness marches, and two days later the largest breast cancer fundraiser was found to be funneling the money into mansions, *no one* would rip pink ribbons down from storefronts or yell "Fuck Breast Cancer Awareness!".
The vitriol to the term Black Lives Matter is exclusive to the Black Experience. If the same happened to any other troubled demographic, we'd see a different reaction. There's something about it being Black Lives that invites far more animosity than would otherwise be rational in comparable circumstances, especially given the underlying intent of the phrase.

The points been made, but the negativity behind blm and the specificness of the phrase causes negative energy towards it, and for whatever reason people take it as "so white lives don't?"

I agree with the phrase Black Lives Matter. But just naming an organization something nice doesn't mean the organization doesn't need to prove its worth through charity and good social works. It’s not an organization. Black Lives Matter isn’t an organization. It’s a phrase. Its a valid and legitimate phrase. You could even say it was a movement, but it isn’t an organization and the fact that you don’t know that tells me they wouldn’t need to do any grand beautiful gestures because you don’t care enough to even pay attention to the basic information.

@@niharikamenon-iz8xu again, MAGA was an acronym, Donald Trump is a racist, and Black Lives Matter was based on grassroots efforts by Black People who wanted to not be murdered by cops. Are you comparing black people fighting for their lives to racists? Because that’s also racist. It’s a movement about reaffirming the place of Black People in society as valuable human beings. Sure it has rich backers NOW, but it didn’t always. MAGA (an acronym) always had a billionaire at the helm, it was always based on prejudice. If you can’t admit that black peoples lives matter because some rich people took interest in an organization, while everyone else is taking interest in a movement, you are racist.

I think the reason why some people always say BLM instead of Black Lives Matter is because either they don't want the idea that black people do in fact matter in their heads or they think the name Black Lives Matter doesn't reflect that Black Lives Matter actually does.
Some people are racist but deep down not racist (yeah ik it's weird), they oppose Black Lives Matter but they avoid feeling bad and like a dehumanizing jerk by using the acronym BLM.
Some people think that by saying "Black Lives Matter" is excluding the other people of other races and implying that they don't matter. BLM just seems more broad in that sense. Now of course, this is a somewhat stupid reason to say BLM instead of Black Lives Matter, but it does make sense why people think that this is the case. Also not everyone in Black Lives Matter actually thinks that Black Lives Matter, yeah what a world we live in.
My theory on why they type BLM is because it’s much easier to type… Jesus Christ you people are something else.
