Good video! Birmingham Airport seems to be one of the only airports that never stopped me from filming or taking photos. It seems that they are very friendly and relaxed about it. BHX is excellent! 👍
I love Birmingham. A huge city with a village mentally. I still maintain it got its 2nd city status due to the 1974 boundary changes. Manchester is bigger. It has an international feel about it. The smallest of the three terminals at MAN is bigger than Birmingham Airport.
We flew from BHX last September.Airport itself was good with plenty of signage.Only downside was service air check in staff were crap.disappeared for 15 minutes mid check in meaning we had to rush to gate 44
This would be through security. The airport is signposted very well and the staff are always about if you get lost, just ask and I'm sure they will be happy to help.
oh, could you please ask your mom is there transite sone for shengen visa passengers comming from poland to canaris by rainair. do i need visa if i not gonna leave the airport?
Im going here in the near future for a routing family holiday. However I don't like change and I prefer gatwick. Is this similar size and better in your opinion?
Never been to Gatwick, so can't comment on comparison but Birmingham Airport is small with only one runway and one main departure lounge with all gates clearly signposted from it. I can't imagine it being as big as Gatwick, so you should be fine. I have flown from Birmingham on many occasions and and have had no problems.
Such a great airport - I've travelled from here before. I'm shocked that they'd never expanded as quickly as MAN did, although, with the money that flooded in due to the Commonwealth Games, among other things, it's shouldn't have been any surprise.
Departures use the tunnels although smaller aircraft use the steps and arrivals disembark using steps and walk to the terminal. These are my personal experiences with BHX although it might be different for your flight, you might use tunnels or steps it all depends on where the aircraft has parked. Glad you recommend East Midlands as I am flying from there in November and haven't been there for 14 years, so I expect allot of changes.
I would always recommend Birmingham airport as it's my local airport and I live near it. But what I love about BHX now is the announcements. Correction. The tunnels are called jetways.
Hello, in about a month I will be flying to BHX, directly after I will be catching a train via BHI. My question is do you know how close the train terminal is to the airport? I am nervous about getting lost...
You can catch the SkyRide train from the Food Lounge(upstairs next to Burger King) in my video, it is free and will take you directly to Birmingham International train station.
I just got back had to use tunnel to get on and steps to get off ( in arrivals it was full of turkish guys from a turkish airlines flight) east midlands now has 40 or more gates with a new teminal I know because I used terminal 2 in 2013
A couple of things about flying into UK airports, and BHX in particular. 1/ I am a UK citizen, I hold a UK drivers licence. It is clean , no points what so ever , but I cannot hire a car at any UK airport, because I am over 70 years of age. This is due to the insurance, which I find ludicrous.I ended up getting a train, which I was noy impressed with. 2/ BHX in particular, I live , now in the Philippines, and have done so for the last 5 years. As such, I no longer had any UK coinage . I recently flew back to visit relatives in Coventry.. When I got to BHX, i found I could not get a baggage cart without paying a pound coin. This , again is ludicrous. There must be thousands of visitors to UK who do not have UK coinage, so cannot get a baggage cart in the baggage reclaim. This does BHX no favours at all.
It's been 11 years but only seems like yesterday I was working there. Lovely to see some of my old stomping grounds!

This would be through security. The airport is signposted very well and the staff are always about if you get lost, just ask and I'm sure they will be happy to help.

@@camjustexists it's in the middle of transitioning from a regional airport to an international airport
Anyone know where the Thomson check in desks are?
Well, it depends on the day as many Airlines do not get a specific area so they move each time.
When I flew last year they were on the back left but that might of changed
