I just want to say, as a chap who studied Law at Cambridge 40+ years ago, you seem to do a lot more academic work than I did! More than I remember my engineering and medical student colleagues doing, too! Admittedly some spent more time working than others but......
Let me tell you the routine all those decades ago. For example in the 1st year I might have studied four topics (Roman Law, Contract, Crime and Land Law - there might have been five!) and we might have 8 lectures that week - for about 50 minutes each starting at times between 9am and 1pm. We would have had a couple of supervisions each week, usually in the afternoon or early evenings. There were never lectures or supervisions at the weekend. Afternoons were for sport (rugby, hockey, cricket) or just lazing around if not reading. There was the college bar many evenings per week, the odd jaunt into the centre or to a local pub, and there were always 2 “Halls” per weekday - a cafe type Hall at maybe 5.45pm to 6.30pm and a more formal “wear your gowns and look tidy” 2nd Hall at about 7.15pm (do people could go to Chapel if they wished).
Pressed a button by mistake and “sent” that early!
Anyway there was always loads of time for sport and socialising. Three great years. And playing hockey atJesus was always fun with the fields “on site” and a tressle table with drinks and orange segments on for half time etc.

Raymond Porter I do math at a Uni in Belgium. In my first year I had between 22 and 30 contact hours a week. Most of them were in between 8:30am and 6:30pm. I skipped so many of the lectures (sometimes because I had to much work to do for labs, sometimes because I partied too hard the day before ;) )
I look at my feed and then I see PAIGE. I get rly happy 😂
I want to go to Cambridge but immm too young (I'm 15) and I want to do physics cos ya boi is going to SPACE 🇬🇧
TheRenaissanceman65 can you do both aerospace engineering and physics, or does it have to be in the same course, like how physics an' all that is an option in natural sciences ?

Top Tip! Pour the cooked pasta into the saucepan with the sauce in and stir it round and round until it's all covered. It's much nicer that way.
I personally really don‘t like it that way. I it when there is some pasta that is not covered in sauce!

This vlog is what I needed. I study a foreign language and I missed an exam so I have to take another one next week and I've been sick for a few weeks now so I didn't study but seeing you being so productive and diligent made me get out my book and notes to finally sit down and prepare for the exam.
Also it's really hard for me to understand the things I didn't quite get in class because we talk about them and the prof makes each of us say a sentence with the new grammar we've learned and then we move on. I'd like to do some homework about it, some exercises for me to see if I got it right or not :/

You’re so inspiring and motivating! I’m in yr 13 and I’ve got my mocks round the corner but in recent topic tests I’ve flopped them. I got a C in bio and chem when I’m usually a straight A student. Watching you motivates me to work harder because I know I can do it, I just haven’t been juggling Alevels well

One of the highlights of my week - motivating me to get on with maths! 😂 I know the maths struggle - I have to see a tutor twice a week because I'm struggling, but whatever she's doing it's working! Things are slowly looking up, and I can practice more over the Christmas holidays. :)

Soo, an idea just came to my mind 😂 Would you maybe do a Q&A video with all of your staircase friends? (Ofc only if they are okay with it) and ask everyone what they study at Jesus College, what they plan on doing after getting their degrees, where they see themselves in 10 years etc? I would find that really interesting and it would give us the chance to get to know your friends better :))

@TheRenaissanceman65 Renaissanceman65 reveal yourself! Anyway what I meant was that she has more 'desk time' than last year. Yes, she may have less modules to study but in her videos you can see her really going for it compared to last year. This is not a negative comment at all, just that you can see she's conscious of how much time she spends with her friends and then diligently comes back to her room to continue studying.
