- Russian President Vladimir Putin received a red carpet welcome from Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Beijing on Thursday (May 16), as he seeks greater support for his war effort in Ukraine and isolated economy. The Russian leader's two-day trip to China is his first since his March inauguration, and the second in just over six months.
Mr Putin's arrival follows US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to Beijing last month, where he warned that China's support for Russia's war in Ukraine could pose a "threat to Europe". cna.asia/3WOrKvL

This is a nightmare situation for US. Russia with huge natural resources meets China with huge demand for those resources. As China’s middle income people get richer they would consume more. If it reaches per capita level of even half of US that’s two times GDP of USA.
