    OK, so what I reckoned happened here was that WR didn't stipulate the distance to throw from and then worked in this "time doubling" thing retrospectively.

    Throwing from 10m is more than twice as difficult as throwing from 5m. How about I let you throw from 50m and cut your timing by 5 times? Even darts pros are hopeless at 2x oche, they wouldn't take the deal to double their score at that distance

    Pumped for next week. A contest between the best 9 of the precedent decade, and the one most likely to be his successor in the next one. But well, I think Smith is going to win this particular challenge. He is arguably the best passer of all times. In the core scrumhalf duty that is ejecting the ball from the base of a ruck as fast and accurately possible, he's the best there ever was, without much contest. While Dupont, if he's considered so highly, it's because of everything else he does on the pitch. Basically, Smith is the better scrumhalf, Dupont is the better player. A bit like peak BB against for exemple Owen Farrell. Farrell was the better 10, but Beaudie was the better player.

    • @toiletsmithy3630
      @toiletsmithy3630 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you Defy as a "Great 10" Seems like you're basing it off Tactical Kicking abilities. Beaudy's Game Management, Ability to Dissect the Defence, Playmaking and Facilitating Ability is alot better than Owen's, Along with Rush Defence which's debateable. Wouldn't dare say Farrell's the Better 10, even when He's played a good Junk of His international career at 12
      Due to Smith's Success, Majorly Contributes to NZ Ruck Speed, It's Immense, He's an Incredibly Fast at Delivering the Ball, Being Decisive and Catching the Defence off guard, either Eating up Quick Metres, of using their Fast Ball scheme to Perfection.
      Going back to Beaudy, Underrated as a 10. Similar to Larkham's role on the Wallabies, Perfect Position for Beaudy to Succeed. He's also Phenomenal at first reciever, along with Broken Play. if you're talking about the Basic functions of being a Flyhalf, You'd look at Pure kicking Ability. That's the only thing Farrell will Equiped.
      Smith isn't arguably, He's easily the Greatest Passer. haven't seen anyone have such an Orchestrated Pass ever, Only other would be Graham Bachop. Smith's underrated around the field, One of the highest workrates Ever for a 9, up there with Piri and Fourie, Incredible yet Underrated Box Kicking ability, along with Tactical Abilities, Fast Operation, Incredible In Support, Incredible at Neglecting Defenders, great at Dictating the Defensive Line. Smith's alot better than How he's rated, People don't pick up the Stuff he does overall, just Blinded by his Incredible Execution. Sniper's are often Immensely Rated. JDW, Gareth Edwards ETC; That's probably what comes into Consideration of Dupont, and his Ability to Conduct his Offensive Attack. Incredible Tactical Kicking ability, and Decent Defensive Ability. Great Player. Just a Tad Bit Rated by the Public Eye, Due to him Being Mistaken for Equipting Nostalgic Effect with an Edward's Sniping ability.
      People often Mistaken the Phrase of "All Around Ability" for an Immense Attacking Ability within A player, Not putting into Consideration of the other Aspects.
      Who's more Around, Dan Carter or beauden Barrett? Some would say Beauden, Due to his Input on every Offensive Attacking Run, But Dan Carter's able to Replicate that on both Sides , Offence and Defence. All Around, and His overall Workrate around the Field. People often Miss-use the Definition of All Around player

      @@toiletsmithy3630 Thanks, that's very interesting. I wouldn't classify Smith as underrated though, for me he's easily the best 9 of the professional era, far ahead of Gregan or JVDW. Dupont has the potential to take over if he manages to keep his current performances going (which he has for 2 and a half years now). BTW, you talk of Dupont as a sniper, but he actually doesn't do it much at international, or even club level (if you're talking about sniping from the base of a ruck). It's his sheer ability to break a defence from open play that puts him in the talks of best player in the world. Plus, well, his defense isn't just decent. He's very good at stripping the ball, or even jackalling, and can defend like a 13. Appart from Faf, and even then it's up to debate, I don't see a better defender at 9. He's not (yet) as good as Smith in conducting the play, but his vision of the gap for his teammates to put them through (or himself for that matter) is on par with Smith.
      As for Beaudie vs Faz, well, I could think of other 10, like Sexton, Foley (at his peak which wasn't really long), Pollard or even Biggar, and obviously Carter. The thing is, all of them seemed more well rounded as 10 than Beaudie. Faz for exemple was (is) of course a great kicker, to the posts or in open play, but was also a great conductor of the game, with some absolutely filthy passes to put his mates through a defense, sniping passes that actually looked like some of Smith's would. Beaudie is a great 10, but at the core duties (conducting, kicking), Faz seemed better to me. The only area where Beaudie was far ahead was breaking the line/scoring himself (which he was absolutely stunning at). It's a bit like the current debate in France of Jalibert/N'tamack. The first is one of the best attacking 10 ball in hand since Beaudie, the other is more quiet, but uses his bakcline more efficiently.
      And since you talked about Larkham, I loved that player. For me he was the best passing 10 of the pro era. Plus his ability to ghost through a defense like he wasn't even trying. It's only his kicking game that was subpar, for everything else, he was amongst the very best there ever was. With all the talks about Carter and Wilko, I think he was kinda underrated, but for me, as long as I can put a center or FB who takes care of the kicking duties, he'd be my starting 10 in a "greatest XV of the pro era".

      @@lolivey8393 I didn't mean Underrated as an Wholesome player, But his Overall Work Ethic around the Pitch, His overall game's forshaded by His Immense Orchestrated Pass, and his Ability to Pin the Needle. Decent's a Great compliment for 9's, For what I believe is "Impeccable Defence" Would be a Flanker Standard, which's where I'll introduce that Category Into. And I'm Curious, I don't often see people Classify Smith as the greatest in the "Professional Era" I Believe he's Overshaded by the likes of JDW, Du Preez and Arguably Gregan, while having World Class 9's from the Likes of Pichot, Marshall, Fabien Galthie (Immense in his 02' Campaign, Along with France's Grandslam Title in the Six Nations) I'll go as far as Putting Weepu in there, Immense Workrate, can cover 9 and 10, Great at Neglecting Defenders, Intelligent and Extremely Decisive. Sadly he couldn't lose alot of that Body Fat, Hence's why Cowan had started the 2010' Season, Before becoming a 3rd Stringer in the 11' World Cup. Foley's Peak would've been 14-15, Not long at all. You're Overusing the phrase "Conducting" But going back to Dupont, he Can Rally himself Defensively as a Centre. Dupont's a Well Shaped Talent, Often seen Clinging in Support. From my Analysis of his International Standard, Conducting the Ruck Speed, and Dissecting the Open Field for His teammates, to Either Tactical Kick or Facilitate. Rushing up in Support. Going to Larkham, He didn't require an GoalKicking Ability, Having the likes of Burke who's known for his Complete Game. Larkham Had always been Outback, Before Translating into a N.10 in 1998', Not everything's Revolved around Goal Kicking, It doesn't defy a 10's ability. Larkham Could do everything Else, Facilitate, Patterned Attacking game, Incredible Tactical Kicking, Cross Kicks, Grubbers, Banana Kicks etc; Huge Aspect of his game, Dirrect the Ball, Split Teams open with his Bullet Passes. And going to Beaudy, His Conducting's Incredibe, along with his Game Management (Underrated) and Able to have an Duel Threat Offensive Ability, Off Ball Movement, Directing the Play and Splitting Up Defenders, Also could be a +1 Outback, but Young barrett was Used Predominantly as a "Finisher" and All around Abilities. Which's why he rarely had Test Start's against Tier 1 Teams, Often playing that Bobby Skinstad role for the ABs, Or a Brent Russell Role. He'd always been Reserved in the Backup Unit, Solidified his Position there. But he'd really Developed an Overall game these Past Years. Leading the pack up Mid, Conducting the team Forward, playing Fast Ball, Keeping the Defence Backpedalling, Spreading the Ball, etc; I believe I'll give the Conducting category to Beaudy, He's Immensely Underrated in this Categoy, He'd been the Engine for the Hurricanes, not Only for his Exquisit Attacking Characteristics, But his Overall Abilities, Distributing, Spreading the Pitch, Cross Kicks, Directing the Play etc; Shown most in their 2016' Campaign
