It is celebrated majorly in district headquarter Daporijo and other part of upper Subansiri, also in state capital Itanagar, Si-Yomi district Mechuka and all over the state where Tagin people resides. It is celebrated from the 4th to 6th January every year. The literary meaning of Si-Donyi , Si means the spiritual form of earth who control the life on earth and Donyi means sun. Thus, Tagin tribe worship earth and sun God. During the festival the Nyub or priest chanted hymn continuously for three days and three nights for the prosperity and well being of human race on this world, and to protect us from natural calamities.
