Around @6.45 in the video you explain how to add a domain within Google Search Console. There are various verification methods (you choose to do it via the HTML tag) but in my case there is only the option to do it via TXT/CNAME records. Is this something that has changed over the last year, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks already, Jip
You should still have multiple verification methods, you may want to go through Google's page below with the link to the settings page that should have the other verification methods: support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9008080
@@wpbeginner The link in the link you shared, to the settings page, simply bring me to a screen where I still have to select a property: imgur.com/a/jMyYXJq When I do exactly the same thing as you do up till 6.45. The pop-up which appears then is just different than the one in the video.. imgur.com/a/1Od82yF Unfortunately, the text is in Dutch but you will get the gist: it only allows me to verify via a DNS-record (TXT or CNAME). Since I am not hosting all site I a managing, this is not really an option for me. In the link you shared, google also mentions the various verification methods instead of the DNS one. I do not understand where this is going wrong for me. Might there be a more global setting that will fix this for me?
Thanks a lot for the video.
You are welcome :)

If your sitemap is redirecting to your blog page then we would recommend checking for any redirection plugins that may be the cause of this issue.
