After watching your review I preordered a 2021 Marin Alpine Trail 7 but unfortunately wasn't able to get my hands on it until late this year due to supply chain issues. When I stumbled into the local shop last week, they happened to have one of these in my size that had been spoken for, but came available so I decided to jump on it. While I was pumped on the Marin (and supporting a smaller, fun focussed brand), the Reign 29 2 seems like a very comparable bike with a little bit better drivetrain and tires.. How do you think it compares? Alpine Trail 7 VS Reign 2? Thanks again for the great reviews/overviews.
Great video hey I got a question I'm interested in this bike I know this bike is a powerhouse for downhill but how does it do on just flat straight aways and like your local trails that aren't so much downhill but more of an up and down is it something that you can ride and enjoy or you would only go around a couple times and be done
I got the exact same kind it was given to me before I had a rocky mountain bike it was also given to me but the person who gave me told me to trade it with him for the giant bike
I find the Medium to be quite small in this bike so I think the large is probably the wiser choice. On size large I'd suggest switching the stem to a 32mm reach to try to shorten the reach a bit.

We're big fans of the Reign... we sell Reigns and Alpine Trails back and forth liking them pretty equally.

Its pretty good on flat straight aways very fast. I've had this bike for about 11 months and its still as good as the day I got it

Hi, the fork is marked as having the Debonair spring but no indication of it being an updated version.

The biggest thing I can say is the Reign is amazing value, support from wherever you purchase and excellent suspension performance.
I too can't decide between the Reign and the Status. Which bike did you buy?
