Always cool to see more Floating Sandbox. I'd definitely recommend playing around with the lifeboats on the Isla Del Sol. Trying to cut them out while sinking is a fun mini-game. Some will definitely get left connected or be cut open but you win some, lose some.
From a gun nut...gun powder isn't necessarily explosive, only in confined areas where it can build pressure, like a bullet case is it explosive. You can find videos easily of different gun powders burning in open air in a line of powder, some burn slow,some fast, but if nothing contains the energy from that burning, it'll just fizzle for a few seconds and stop. I could dump a handful of gun powder on the floor, throw a match on it, and it'll burn but that's all, if I take that same amount of powder and put it inside a metal pipe then put end caps on and light a fuse, when the fuse reaches the powder, it'll go boom. That's also a pipe bomb....that's illegal.

You want to make a hydrogen hot air ballon. I would rather fly in a zepilin. They at least are not trying to burn the highly combustable hydrogen. Even though they had about a 56 percent chance of crashing and/or exploding.
