I know this is from Central but I notice the English cheese logo seems to be based on a Union flag, not sure what the rest of the UK made of that. Not sure why but I don’t like the idea of food having moustaches either. I do remember the Fiat Strada advert. I think we had it on the end of a tape somewhere, and I’d never heard the song I’ve Got You Under My Skin before and was a bit spooked by it.
What has the region got to do with it? Obviously the Cheddar advert was not a regional advert and so played on other regions too. I do believe that England was in the Union (it still is now) so I can't possibly imagine how this would have offended anyone from anywhere else in the UK. Back then, every complaint from supposedly minority groups wasn't aired publicly because of no internet - better days.
