@@raphathekidyou and the other guy are both right, on PS3 I almost bought DD but I went for Skyrim And many many years later I accidentally came across DD on sales (on PS4), I had forgotten about this game due to its poor advertising
to think that some of DD ideas/content was cut due to time , budget and technology difficulties. If DD2 going to be the game DD was supposed to be, we definitely going to be stuck in the endless cycle.
Dragon’s Dogma is the best game in the same way that like… pizza is the best food. Is it the most culinarily deep, complex, masterfully tasteful dish? No. But you’ll always come back to eat it, and you can rely on a lot of people eating it too.
I played DD after Dark Souls 1 because I wanted more big monsters/bosses. Never expected it to be one of my favorite games of all time. I cannot understate how hyped I am for DD2. I haven't been this excited for a game since Elden Ring. Couple that with the ER DLC next year, just inject the hype straight into my veins. We eatin' good in 2024.
@@actualamateur149woah woah woah there… tht Elden ring DLC will be 🔥 never played DD you think it’s better? Base game vs base game not counting graphics unless u want a war in the comments
@@chauncey5962 I started with the Souls series from DS1, and have been a massive fav of Fromsoft since the King's Field games. So don't mistake my absolute love for Dragon's Dogma as me not appreciating how incredible ER is. HOWEVER, I have just been praying for a sequel ever since I first beat the game back when it released in 2012. 12 whole fucking years for a sequel to one of my top 3 games.
@@actualamateur149damn a top 3 for you? I really don’t have any excuse not to try it I guess it’s always on sale ridiculously cheap and it’s always interested me since I’ve seen it
It's the secrets that made this game insanely good. Every box must be opened, every monster must die, every change day/night brought a new experience. The incredible side quests where the game switches tones fast, one moment I'm looking for my missing friend the next I find a witch then I find out the witch is a pawn and secret location and insane loot. I talk to the queen the next time we meet I save her and now I have to rescue her from a castle full of treasure and I get insane items. The game keeps giving, I meet female bandits and if my characters are female they let me go no issues but if it's a male party we have to fight on sight. I explore and I end up facing a dragon out of nowhere and I keep fighting it for 3 hours cause I'm no where near strong enough to face it head on and I kill it.
@@raphathekid by the main road there is a rock, if you have time you can kill him by hiding behind it very early game but don't count on ur gear getting upgraded. very low rng but the kill is worth it and going to take hours.
@@MisterTraps I normally face him when i get to level 30+, normally 40 or 50 XD And don't worry, i play Dragon's Dogma since PS3, so i have like 3K hours or lost the count already. And you're right, the dragonforging rate is pretty low, the best one to farm the upgrade is the Cursed Dragon on BBI XD P.S' I have a video on my channel that is called "Some beasts still remains", take a look to see how lucky i was, haha
Owned the game for years, but only started enjoying it a few months ago. It reminds me of Everquest when it first came out. Not many games have been able to capture the same feeling.
I've owned it since it came out (PS3 I think?). Never really played it. Think I remember the beginning a little, then getting to where you get your first pawns. But for whatever reason, I stopped playing. But you have me at "Everquest"! To me, EQ is THE best game ever released. So many reasons why. But I'd really love to hear how/why it reminds you of EQ. It's kindof rare to see people say, "this game is kindof like EQ, in a way". I've done it. With oddball comparisons to games like Terraria, Tarkov hehe. Terraria because of it's "make your own way gamestyle", also how you sortof have to think "what do I want to do/accomplish tonight" - made me remember how EQ did that. You had to plan before you logged in. With Tarkov, it's the lack of handholding, but mostly because of how it utilizes map knowledge. I remember having to guide people through dungeons in EQ, as well as having to know where certain mobs spawned. Knowledge was power. Same thing in Tarkov.
Everquest didn't hold your hand. You had to yell out for someone find your corpse, so you can drag it out of danger and loot it.. You needed a balanced team or it wouldn't work. If you were an ass, you couldn't find a group. This game reminds me of EQ, because of some of the unforgiving mechanics. Remember the need to kill a beetle for light at lower levels or paying to get a portal. I like that you can use the pawns to simulate the old groups from EQ and little things like bumping into people matter. EQ your race or deity you follow could get you killed. Many deaths in OT as a Bard. Fighting down a dungeon and having the team wipe, only to have to do it again to get your stuff.... And raids with 50+ toons. No red circles under bosses to know they were going to cast. You had to learn fights.@@vhayne91777
@@vhayne91777bro if you like tarkov and EQ I highly recommend Dark and Darker I play EQ (p99) regularly with some friends and Dark and Darker is how I imagine dungeon crawling felt back in the day on PvP EQ servers

I just picked up Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen for only $5…not only is it worth every penny and more but it also stands up to games in 2024…I play on my PS5 so it runs really well and looks great…how can a game over 12 years old look this good? Game developers that have heart…that’s how. Most games nowadays are released unfinished and created by greedy game developers with no heart and only care about 💰.
Don't agree. One of the best action gameplay systems in an early 2010s RPG. Don't think it does anything better than other RPGs of the time in other categories though, certainly not than all other RPGs of all time. Other RPGs have a better claim to that title being better rounded in all areas. Final fantasies, Zeldas, Chrono triggers, Baldur's Gates, Star oceans etc
@@7dayspkingIt's a shame that CAPCOM didn't invest more in Dragons Dogma when it was first released. If they had delivered the complete experience without budget cuts, it could have been a huge hit. Unfortunately, they missed the opportunity to skyrocket the game's popularity like Dark Souls did. Now that DD2 has arrived late to the party, it's hard to compete with Fromsoft's four new games. CAPCOM would instead babysit/give more attention to their Monster Hunter IP. MHW already has the new-gen mechanics that Dragons Dogma should have had.
Maybe "Action RPG" but not RPGs in general. But besides that, I don't even consider this even an ARPG. There's no real choice for dialogue, and you're really just outfitting your main character and main pawn with gear and changing classes every now and then. It's even less of an RPG than Diablo, which is a series I've *never* considered an RPG. I'd still rank it among one of the best games of all time though. Like I said in a previous comment, it's basically Capcom's older 2D D&D games redone in 3D.
@@Neonmirrorblack in terms of straight game mechanics, you may have a point. however, in terms of head-cannon/player-driven role-play, let me just say that i can make a short fat jewish sorcerer, who has a giant black slave bodyguard. name one other RPG that lets me do that xD
This is my all time favourite game! The spell casting system really felt amazing and as a player who always plays wizards or mages - this game had a very unique style. Where you actually had to "concentrate" on casting your spells and higher tiers of spell. Truly emulating that spellcaster in the backline that the front line needs to protect because the spell will be epic - and indeed the spells were epic!!!
Dragon's Dogma has sat comfortably in my top 10 RPGs for over a decade now. It's a rare examples of what it mean to be a Role Playing Game... Masterpiece!
Maybe Baldur's Gate 3 is alsp a pleasant experience, but is only for PS5 besides PC XD I have a PS4 that... well, got compomised by a lightning discharge last month .-.
Disagree with you on it being the definition of role playing. I only consider it an RPG very loosely, similar to other JRPGs. More of an combat, gameplay, action focused game. Not much depth in character interactions, branching story, characters, questing or role playing. Not as linear as the majority of JRPGs but not as in depth as almost any western RPG in those areas, not even than Euro RPGs which tend to be more limited than American RPGs. Kind of like the opposite of Souls, the sames games are less linear and more open ended than Dragons Dogma but have weaker questing, dialogue and branching. Both are pretty weak though
Based. Bitterblack Isle is so much fun - the challenge, mix of regular enemies alongside spectacular large monsters. If you get near the endgame, give it a spin. Run it multiple times, grab loot, do it with different classes and parties. Way better than the Everfall.
honestly seeing someone's vision go from concept and decades later become realized through sheer love for the craft and artform as well as the tenacity to bring to the table something new and fresh brings a tear to my eye. I can only wish the very best for the director and I wish he inspired more people to bring their love for the artform first and monetary gain second
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is my favorite game of all time, the combat, the pawn system, Bitterblack Isle, character creation & customization, music, everything. It's really an unforgettable experience from beginning to end. You might love it or you might hate it, but you are unlikely to forget it once you've beaten it. I have around 2k hours into it and I've loved every second.
I prefer the base game to Bitterblack isle. Bitterblack enemies are a bit too spongey and it's too much of a repetitive grind, kinda like a slightly better done Everfall, that wasn't really good IMO
Dragons Dogma holds a very special place in my heart. My girlfriend and I bought a playstation 3 and Dragons Dogma for christmas and up till that point she has been backseat gaming a little bit but it was more my thing. But once we got the ball rolling playing it we just kept going and spend almost our entire holiday vacation glued to the screen and roaming the lands. I've replayed it a few times ever since and it is still an absolutely phenomenal experience. Only gripe I have with the game is that the narrative with the looping and reincarnation comes into play way to late, two friends of mine mentally checked out by the point they reached that and couldn't appreciate it for what it tried to do. I will never forget how my pawn (molded after my girldfriend) clung to a dragon as it rose to the sky and then slammed back into the ground seconds later because she was pummeling his heart. We were roaring and cheering. We've also checked farming spots for specific cute items for her to wear and embraced the fashion souls aspect. And she was always very happy when someone took her pawn on missions and gave her nice ratings. Truly some very memorable experiences have been had.
Highly recommend playing the first one! It goes on sale for dirt cheap all the time and it’s fantastic. I do expect DD2 is be to the same level of quality that Elden ring is!
i remember playing dragon’s dogma back in highschool, it had everything i wanted in a game at the time when my budget for games are tight. now i recently got back to it and playing it with mods ( Great Sword Max Supremacy ) its still the Wierd and Badass game i fell in love with a Decade ago
DD isn't the best game of all time for me but it's definitely my favorite RPG of all time ! I just started playing it this year so it's sure to say I wasn't biased and put it into a strong competition with old classics as well as modern RPGs.
I remember audibly cheering when I say that DD2 is being developed. DD1 to me is such an underrated Capcom game and I played it when I was about 12 and I had a blast with it (got confused at the end of the game so I technically never “beat it”) but I am now 18 and know I’m pre-ordering that as soon as it’s available
I only saw 18 seconds of your video and already know you were right...i have 140 hours in the game and it just gives me more and more. Absolutely love the details and the exploration both on the terrain or in game mechanics and unique controls for magic and attacks and... ah I could go on for ages. It is an amazing game, thanks for reassuring me :D
Dragons Dogma was and is still a great game. While I don’t think its the best game, it still offers great mechanics, challenges and fantastic fantasy elements. I can’t wait for DD 2.
God, the amount of times I tried getting into this game, but just couldn’t. As a fantasy nerd I’m always taken in by a cool world and lore, but for some reason Dragon’s Dogma didn’t grab me in those areas. Still, I am a fantasy nerd, so I’ll probably try it again. Took me a couple tries to get into the Souls games too. Now I’m a complete Souls nut
Same. By all accounts i should be crazy about this game. Yet I wasn’t enthralled at all. The gameplay wasn’t for me and without engaging gameplay I have no reason to want to play it
@@actualamateur149 I just mean it wasn’t engaging for me personally not not engaging in general. To me it felt clunky and rigid. It was lacking “weight” if that makes sense
@@Childofbhaal Yeah, I can understand what you mean. Pretty sure I felt the same way about the weightlessness of the attacks, but it was just overshadowed by the variety of playstyles for me.
Great timing. Dragons Dogma is at 4.70 bucks at the moment on Steam. I think i could really enjoy this game as it hits a niche of fantasy RPG i really enjoy so im gonna give it a try.
You're probably a month in, but for beginners I would honestly just say have fun. Use the first playthrough to just explore everything and see everything. Then maybe start a new character afterwards if you're a stickler for stats and min maxing. @@lukasglatt764
I still remember stumbling across the PS3 demo like it was yesterday, loading that griffin up with arrows in front of Gran Soren. Having already been obsessed with Monster Hunter and Dark Souls at the time, this game captivated me like no other. Does it have its fair share of drawbacks? Yes. But it still provides an unbelievably rewarding and enjoyable experience every time you play it. Iconic moments like the Great Wall, my first run through Soul Flayer Canyon, following the Elysion into the catacombs or chasing the griffin to Blue Moon Tower for an epic climax to the hunt will stick with me forever. This game is a masterpiece for sure. I cannot wait for the sequel to drop.
Tried this one many times, but never finished it - probably due to lack of quality of life additions, like fast travel. But as a huge fan of souls likes, open worlds rpgs, DMC etc. I just cannot wait for the sequel :3
I remember this game fondly. I think I beat it back in 2016ish and have yet to find a game that just caught me the way DD did. I'm not a souls game person but this game just had something special. Def hoping that DD2 will have the same feel but as you said maybe some QoL and updated graphics. Heck I'd even be happy with just a simple remaster of the 1st!
It's not even purely the last generation, at least when it comes to consoles. It actually came out on PS3, so it's second to last. Never got into it though. I tried 3 times and DD seems like a game I would adore, but it hasn't clicked for some reason.
I've purchased the game 3 times. Vanilla and Dark Arisen for the PS3 and Dark Arisen for the PC. Completed the game several times and often feel like going back to it. It's really a great game. If it calls you, than there's something special indeed about that game.
YES! The game that took a military shooter and military strategy gamer and made me so obsessed with the combat systems and world that it became my favorite game of all time, and after beating it numerous times, I still play it to this day! It was a gateway to fantasy games, but I have yet to find another that so enchants me.
Sir, I must disagree with one point. The title of this video is serious, vey seeious, because Dragon's Dogma IS the best game of all time ever, and all other opinions are wrong. Thank you
The funny thing is, the insane number of complex sytems, items, quests, lack of direction, and long travel time, are exactly what make the game feel tedious and needlessly complicated to me. It's very different than Souls, with a different focus. Souls is an action game with an RPG leveling system. Dragons Dogma is an RPG with action combat systems. Which you like better is preference.
I love it, have played though it multiple times on Xbox360 and One X, if it came out again on Series X I'd buy it again... It is so deep, the little intricacies you notice after yet another playthrough, the way other pawns help and react to you. It is probably my #1 game of all time. (And at 45, I've played a lot of games... Lol) I cannot wait for DD2 😅! Actually, I might even go and play DD:DA again! 👍
the most under appreciated and underrated game ever for me. So good that I did two play through back to back on ps5 and pc which I didn’t even do for baldurs gate 3!
@@ProbablyLying baldurs gate 3 is very good to be fair, maybe one of the top 10 ever in my list? But dragons dogma is one of my top 10 and you should really check it out
Did...did you just say....TWENTY-SIXTH?!?! Damn bro! lol....I'm always amazed when I see things slike this! I seriously couldn't imagine a scenario where I consume my favorite form of entertainment repeatedly like that lol
I always come back to this game and I’ve enjoyed so many games these past few years. Just something about it makes it charming and replayable despite its many flaws.
I'm playing it over again to refresh my memory, haven't played it since way back when it came out on PS3, and it's even better than I remember. I know they remastered it on PS4 but never played that version, I'm on Series X, and it looks like a game that just came out. It's harder than I remember though, so many mission where I'm like where do I go to find that lol. It's fantastic, Dragons Dogma 2 is already pre-ordered and paid in full.
Definitely one of my favorite games of all time. I bought it on 360, PS4, PC, and Switch just to support. All before a sequel was ever announced lol. The sequel will be the first game I've preordered in like half a decade.
Sorry but I can't agree. A great classic? Absolutely. One of the best games ever made? For sure. But it can't beat Elden Ring. Disregarding the graphics, there is so much more enemy variety, areas to explore, boss fights, no quests like "kill 30 rabbits" or "escort this dude to the shadow fort". Dude, I love this game, but this is like comparing Grigori (ER) to Alduin (DD)
@@NisAenino yeah and Grigori is better so what's your point? Elden Ring doesn't hold a candle to Dragon's Dogma. Sorry there was no confusing half baked plot about how Grigori was your grandmother or something (that's a Radagon/Merika reference if you didn't catch it) In Dragon's Dogma death makes sense, it's permanent without magic. In Elden Ring? makes ZERO SENSE! why? cause the point of ER is the challenge/ dificulty and to die repeadetly. The story in itself is a jumbled mess and not fully coherent (although thanks to George RR Martin the story is a bit less drivel from the soul series, but not by a lot) DD has a good story line but the only reason people like you don't like it is it's too "mundane" for you. not enough explosions or wild stuff going on to keep your attention. also did you play DD at all? there are loads of enemy variety? goblins, ogres, cyclops, hydra, griffins, drakes, zombies, skeletons, cockatrice, chimera, harpies, ghosts, living armors, death aka the grim reaper??? saurians/saurian sages, stone/metal golems, beholders, wolves, hellhounds, liches, strigoi, eliminator, garm, silver/golden knights, leap worn corrupted pawns and bandits (im sure im missing a few) as opposed to ER? mostly undead soldiers/knights/peasants who wildly swing at you but sure...suuuree. ER definetly has more enemies to fight, for sure...
The game deserves respect and multiple playthroughs because of its sincere and lovely world, gameplay and combat. The game fell short, prior to dark arisen, with the terrible fast travel limitation. The side quest system was also petty and irritating, the main quest wasn't expansive enough and left much to be desired, though it had some amazing moments, I just felt it could have delved into the dragon cult alot more. The failure of Starfield in providing a nourishing exploration world, coupled with the success of Baldurs Gate 3 for the fantasy genre, will herd alot of people into DD2 to refuel that fantasy itch. DD2 is going to blow up. If you can get over the aforementioned, then the game really sits nicely in any top 10 fantasy RPG list.
Just discovered this game a month or two ago because it's free now on ps plus. Holy crap i can't believe I've never heard of this game. One of the most immersive and addictive RPGs I've ever played. Great game, and it seems to be almost never ending in the amount of content and level of challenge you can find the deeper you go. Definitely one of the best games I've played in the last 5 years. Hard to believe its 12 years old
Now that the games are really cheap on eBay, I purchased tons of role playing games in summer 2022. Months ago I started playing Dragon Dogma Dark Arisen, by far I think it is at the very top of my list of all time best games along with The Witcher. I played all Fable games, The Witcher, started on Elder Scrolls and half way thru Elder Scrolls the Dragon Dogma disc arrived, I have been hooked from day one. I'm not ready to walk away from my Xbox 360 so I will get the new releases for PC, maybe one day I will get the Xbox X but for now I'm happy.
One of the very few games that I can just pick up and lose track of time in my enjoyment of the game. I have bought this game at least three to four times, and would do it again. Im so excited for two, one of the games of next year I will be getting day one and playing for a long time!!
I think Dragon´s Dogma is probably one of the most underrated and overseen games in the past. I discovered it while I was sick back in 2016 and it looked pretty interesting to me on steam, as i was in a search for a more lengthy rpg with replayability. I could start now with how my journey began and list everything that Dragon´s Dogma does right and so much better than other RPG´s in that time period (looking at you skyrim), but also what it does wrong (due to a limited amount of time Dragon´s Dogma was given and technical limitations + personal preferences) but i won´t. I think it is great that with the announcement of Dragon´s Dogma II the Franchise gets so much attention which it really really deserves! I hope for the devs it will be the banger of a game they imagine and from what i´ve seen and the time the Team was given this time it absolutely will. While i think Dragon´s Dogma is not the best game ever, it really is a masterpiece - you can´t go wrong - on its own. I really do recommend it, even more now as it is on sale on steam for 5 bucks!
I've been playing video games for a long time since Morrowind came out on pc. Since then i've put so much of my life into playing pc games. After playing through Skyrim i heard of Dragons Dogma and never played it until years after its release always seeing it on sale on steam. Finally decided to download it and play it and left a huge impression on me. I can't explain why i love this game so much but ever since playing through the game and the expansion i've been a die hard fan. I think it's the challenge, the adventure, the story, the gameplay, the pawn system everything meshes together to create a perfect blend of entertainment. The ending of the base game was so awesome to me.
Playing DD right now and mannnnn I wish I woulda picked it up when I was a kid I had always played the demo but found the combat too hard but coming back years later man this game was ahead of its time I can’t wait till 2 drops
finished this back in 2020 and I remember it being so addictive, guess its time to play it again since DD2 is just around the corner. EDIT: checked on steam and its on sale for 4usd, at least where I'm from.
I really appreciated the timing of your Steam Sale recommendations video so I could grab this when it was super cheap. I think it will be my next deep dive once I finally finish BG3.
I LOVE THIS GAME!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 definitely one of my all time favs! Up there with Oblivion, Zelda Ocarina of Time, & Elden Ring. ESO of course is my numero uno but that’s a different category, mmo
I was playing Robocop when I saw Dragon’s Dogma was free on PS5. I learned this; an ancient game engine and poor textures = a beautiful game when it’s made with expertise and artistic flair and 17 year developing veterans Teyon suck. Dragon’s Dogma is such an excellent game and after Robocop its beauty is dazzling.
Till this day I am still playing dragon dogma, level 200 and the game keeps the challenge going and still trying get all the armors, I love the replay ability of the game and that it never gets to easy specially in the dark arisen part! Like yes you are powerful at 200 level but there are plenty of hard bosses and creatures that keeps you on your toes! Making you think how to approach your enemies!.
I absolutely loved the heck out of this game when it came out ! My favorite part was traveling at night and climbing onto all these different monsters.
Oh man, I loved dragon's dogma, I was a huge advocate for it and my friends never understood why I liked it so much when it first came out. Years later though, opinions slowly changed, and it just kept popping up in videos and such... as this time went on my friends were a little more receptive, and eventually gave it a try, and wouldn't you know it, oh it is a good game... well except for one, but there is always one eh? Honestly, if you delve into where this game comes from, its lineage is gold, who conceptualised it, its influences, the mechanic inspirations, producers, developers... There were so many signs telling you this would be a success, like why on earth it didn't get the support and love it needed was infuriating. If the execs had been more trusting we would have seen a more fleshed out dragon's dogma, at least in terms of story, instead we have been made to wait for number 2 to come out... well I am happy we are getting a sequel but it is hard to forget why it took so long
how i'd love Dragon's Dogma Online to be active and fully working, im trying the unofficial servers which are limited to just explore the world and dungeons and level up but just the gameplay is incredible with every class, such a pity i don't have almost anyone to play with with very few people actively playing (i hope thry make quest work in the future)
The potential and interesting ideas were there for sure...its really fun combating monster in various way, and you can really manuever the world however you want, plus randomness in the world especially that dlc island dungeon. My complaint back then were if trying to min max stats its really a hassle changing class every time its near level up, not to mention the reload when you forgot it is time to change class..
DD was waaaay ahead of its time, that’s why most people couldn’t even comprehend it in 2012. It’s funny to me that 12 years later, when DD2 is introducing the same system from DD, people are so impressed by it, not knowing they could’ve been playing this game 12 years ago 😂
My only issue with this game is the tiny continent you're on. The island expands it really well, but i think it's still alittle lacking. Still a fantastic game.
I’ve been trying to get people to play DD. In the ~9-10 years since I first played it, I’ve never succeeded, but I’ve been trying again lately with the sequel coming out. One of my favorite games.. but I can’t say #1. Top 10 game of all time though.
Dragons dogma is one of two games that I bought twice. I think that says something quite significant about it and how genuinely caught up in the combat system I was. The expansion was concentrated combat and very very little adventuring in comparison to the main game and that made it a great deal better than the original game. I also could see married and never ending the ever fall which was just an unending sequence of fights.
What surprised me about Dragons dogma is all the different and awesome enemy designs in the late game/ Bitter black isle. The designs are so rich compared to the normal game and to think many people don't make it that far sadly. One of my favourite games.
What a coincidence! I just bought it yesterday, because i wanted to play something unique and it crossed my mind, I finished main game but never got into expansion. Looking forward to see what it's about !
The game goes from stoic action adventure to dark gothic action horror. "Do not think. Step one foot in front of the other and by the makers love...keep swinging..."
honestly I'm glad they are making a sequel. with the pawn system and the way the ai learned quests and how to battle overtime, just fits the current AI craze. This game was ahead of it's time in this regard and the new development of AI would make this sequel amazing! I would still like the option of coop though, even if you are limited to classes like the ai pawns
Eh. The way Dragons dogma's AI worked isn't like modern AI. Not really ahead of its time either, like simplified versions of Peter Molybeyax's games from a decade earlier like Black & White
Edit: there was also AI focused adventure or simulation games in the 90s focused on training characters. It was unique to employ that in an action RPG though. Only similar examples I remember are Peter Molybeaux's Fable games from half a decade earlier. Dragon's Dogma mashed concepts from other popular games together.

You mean the Drake in the Devilfire Grove? >D

@@vhayne91777bro if you like tarkov and EQ I highly recommend Dark and Darker

I just picked up Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen for only $5…not only is it worth every penny and more but it also stands up to games in 2024…I play on my PS5 so it runs really well and looks great…how can a game over 12 years old look this good? Game developers that have heart…that’s how. Most games nowadays are released unfinished and created by greedy game developers with no heart and only care about 💰.
Easily one of the best games of all time. If it had achieved it's full vision, it would've been the best RPG of all time.
That’s where DD2 comes in
Don't agree.
Maybe Baldur's Gate 3 is alsp a pleasant experience, but is only for PS5 besides PC XD
I have a PS4 that... well, got compomised by a lightning discharge last month .-.
BG3, being a turn-based DND tabletop esque game, still has restrictions that don't quite make it comparable to DD in my eyes. @@raphathekid
Based. Bitterblack Isle is so much fun - the challenge, mix of regular enemies alongside spectacular large monsters. If you get near the endgame, give it a spin. Run it multiple times, grab loot, do it with different classes and parties. Way better than the Everfall.

I prefer the base game to Bitterblack isle. Bitterblack enemies are a bit too spongey and it's too much of a repetitive grind, kinda like a slightly better done Everfall, that wasn't really good IMO
I just started and it’s pretty awesome so far
Hay man can you tell me the difference between the the original and dark arisen ?

I remember audibly cheering when I say that DD2 is being developed. Long answer? They are masterworks all, you can't go wrong.
I only saw 18 seconds of your video and already know you were right...i have 140 hours in the game and it just gives me more and more.

This game is the reason Elden Ring can't possibly be the best game.
Just ordered a Steam Deck OLED and this game is on the install list!
I had to play it 3x over years before actually getting into it. Once I did, it was amazing
the gameplay was the best I have seen in what 15 years now. Archer gameplay and boss fights are excellent.
Tried this one many times, but never finished it - probably due to lack of quality of life additions, like fast travel. But as a huge fan of souls likes, open worlds rpgs, DMC etc. I just cannot wait for the sequel :3
There is fast travel. You have to use ferry stones (single use) pre-dlc, but if you get the Dark Arisen version, you get and eternal ferry stone.
And later in the game you can buy an item you can place almost anywhere as a teleportation point. Up to 10 in the whole world.
This game has crossed over to something more then just another game
I remember this game fondly. I think I beat it back in 2016ish and have yet to find a game that just caught me the way DD did. I'm not a souls game person but this game just had something special. Def hoping that DD2 will have the same feel but as you said maybe some QoL and updated graphics. Heck I'd even be happy with just a simple remaster of the 1st!
I love how dragons dogma has such a big and loving fanbase. Its one of the best last gen games easily.
If it calls you, than there's something special indeed about that game.
definitly one of if not the best game ever...

Have to say it. None of the Souls games including Elden Ring hold a candle to Dragon's Dogma.
I started Dragons Dogma last week for the first time. I'm Extremely impressed how they made this game. Seriously can't wait for number 2 now.
Dragon's Dogma is great. I probably have as many copies as a gta 5 crazy lol
no game's magic system even comes close to Dragon Dogma's magic system especially the sorcerer class
Very underrated game
Just discovered this channel. Man I bet you're absolutely stoked for the sequel!
If you can get over the aforementioned, then the game really sits nicely in any top 10 fantasy RPG list.
the sense of adventure that Dragons Dogma has is unparallel!
Hard to believe its 12 years old
It is most definitely an amazing game.
For sure my favorite game, the next seems to be huge!!!
One of the very few games that I can just pick up and lose track of time in my enjoyment of the game. I have bought this game at least three to four times, and would do it again. Im so excited for two, one of the games of next year I will be getting day one and playing for a long time!!
If dark arisen is already a masterpiece I'm curious how awesome the sequel will be
Going by the current trends of sequels, probably woke and probably trash

Love how content creators constantly making videos for DD. DD2 gonna be a big difference and improvement compared to 1.
I started this for first time 3 days ago, just to see if I’d want the 2nd one coming out. I was surprised how addicting the game quickly became.
"They're masterworks, all. You can't go wrong"
I remember getting it on psplus on the ps3. I couldn't stop playing and telling everyone about it. Can't believe the sequel is almost here
If the pegi leak is to be believed, only 4 months!
If the execs had been more trusting we would have seen a more fleshed out dragon's dogma, at least in terms of story, instead we have been made to wait for number 2 to come out... well I am happy we are getting a sequel but it is hard to forget why it took so long
Iam here from the future, crapcom repeated the same mistake for the sequel, again...
@@Gustaviustwinkelberry yes... Yes they did 😭
Had no idea about this game until now, thanks for the tip! It's on sale at Steam right now. Got it for just 4,79€ :D
how i'd love Dragon's Dogma Online to be active and fully working, im trying the unofficial servers which are limited to just explore the world and dungeons and level up but just the gameplay is incredible with every class, such a pity i don't have almost anyone to play with with very few people actively playing (i hope thry make quest work in the future)
i literally played thousands of hours in DD....greatest gaming experience...im so excited for Dragons Dogma 2
Beat it multiple times and I'll revisit it soon before the DD2 launch! Awesome game way ahead of it's time
The potential and interesting ideas were there for sure...its really fun combating monster in various way, and you can really manuever the world however you want, plus randomness in the world especially that dlc island dungeon.
Underrated when it came out, aged like fine wine. Yet somehow the online never saw the light of day outside of Japan and is already dead..
I learned goblins ill like fire, unlike most folks who enjoy being burned to death...
Wolves hunt in packs!
Fyre, lend thy kiss.
Even in packs, a weakling is a weakling still.
What surprised me about Dragons dogma is all the different and awesome enemy designs in the late game/ Bitter black isle. The designs are so rich compared to the normal game and to think many people don't make it that far sadly.
One of my favourite games.
I adore DD. I will be taking a few days off from work when DD2 releases.
Also, if "Into Free" isnt the theme of DD2 I will be disappoint.
