I grew up on Abbotsford right off of Forest Ave. Went to School 52, K-6, left in 1969, and moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Still a Bills fan after all these years and just recently went up there to watch a game. Had an awesome time, Go Bills!
I grew up on Lafayette Ave between Grant and Richmond during the 60’s and 70’s. It was a great Italian neighborhood back then. I remember The Friday night dances at Grace Episcopal hall with a young band called Talas. John’s Pizza Villa, toasted bow ties at The Your Host, Phillip and Son, Norban’s, Super Duper Crystal Beach ride tickets for good report cards, The Inn Between, The Royal Pheasant, Frozen Whip ice cream, Menuette Pizza and all the great bars on Elmwood. The west side was a great fun place to grow up back then. It’s gone through a rough period but I’m glad a new generation has discovered what a great place it is.
Yep, I remember the same things there NED !! Grew up in the Grant/Forest area, Was a good time to grow up in the city....but it was a changing.....left there 27 years ago, never looked back !
I remember when the Armory caught on fire. I grew up 5 blocks north on West Ave. We went down to see it. You could hear some of the bullets going off. They had to move us back which back then people listened.
Technically the international rail road bridge is in Black Rock and the Peace bridge is on the West side. I did not know the roof of the armory was red. You could have also shown Front Park and Lasalle Park. I would also suggest some of the centers - like Grant/Ferry, Grant and Lafayette and 5 Corners.
Downtown was in bad shape in the 1970s, and the decline continued until about 15 years ago. It is improving slowly, but the improvements at Canalside, the Fruit Belt, Larkinville, etc. are impressive by any measure.
Absolutely the most beautiful video I ever seen of Buffalo
Thanks that is so nice of you!
@@scootermcc40thank you for posting this!!

Very cool. I grew up in Amherst, left in 1989. Love these Buffalo videos. I get to see things I never knew existed.
Grew up on Richmond between Vermont and Connecticut miss the old deli's and pasta joints
I have enjoyed my 4 years in Buffalo......with that said....i also can't wait to move out next month. I'll always have love for the 716.

I lived in the unit block of Plymouth during that event. Not that far away. I miss Buffalo.
My fav place on earth. Grew up on the westside. Now live in Cali but go home 2 times a year.

Great video - grew up on the west side. Thanks and best wishes!
I grew up on Connecticut, 3 houses from Armory. I can’t believe the houses are gone. It’s look like the College bought them.
I saw Bush in concert at the Armory in the mid 90s...anybody else see any concerts there???
Thanks for the captions. So many who post leave us clueless.
your so welcome, thanks for watching!
Where’s the rest of the west side
Yeah. Lower West Side left out. Lived there and kind of miss it.

Why was the downtown ruin in the mid 80s
Downtown was in bad shape in the 1970s, and the decline continued until about 15 years ago. It is improving slowly, but the improvements at Canalside, the Fruit Belt, Larkinville, etc. are impressive by any measure.
Awesome views. What drone do you use and can you get some shots of Carolina st on the westside? 🙏🏻
thanks, I can get there eventually for sure....
I used to stay in the Redwoods on Carolina St next to the Pine Harbor
Buffalo has the potential to be a perfect city in America if bucrasy and corruption among politicians and governors can come to and end.
Has been top 15 in the USA in political corruption since like forever🙄. Continues to this day, the grift is legendary.
Good Filming, I am not a fan of this city though. I grew up there.
Ya gotta be tough to live in rough buff
Aireal view so not interesting. In fact it is a third class video.
I was going for fifth class, thanks for watching!
