This has been a fun project but I found that I needed more bias tape than called for in the pattern. Do you think that's due to an error in cutting? I came up about an inch short on the handles and almost 2 inches short on the "neck" line. Is there a way to estimate how much tape you need apart from what the pattern specifies?
It could be cutting but it also could just be the type of bias you're using. Depending on what fabric you're using the stretch of the bias will change. Often what I do is just cut a piece a bit longer than the length of the edge I'm binding and work from one side to the other, then just snip off the excess. What type of binding were you using?
@@kaybellor2284 Not the wrong answer but it is a bit harder to work with because it's very stiff so it resists turning a bit. When I use it I like to pre-press the shape of the edge I'm binding into it - I can't remember if I showed that in this vid or not.
Hi, what fabric are you using? I love it!
This is a Ruby Star cotton-linen canvas from 2019, unfortunately I'm not remembering the name of the print
Are you encasing the seam allowance in the binding before sewing?
I serged my seam allowances because they're a bit thick, but if your machine can handle it you can absolutely bind them!

@@GrainlineStudioSewing I used Wrights brand double fold 1/2 inch bias tape from JoAnn. Wrong pick? Thanks for your answer!
