What a rough match. Overall s4 DLC is kinda brutal in terms of sniping and holding a priority, and here it is, several mistakes/incidents and the situation is so hard to bounce back. Intense pressure from the start. Shields for Parky. That's why this season close matches are so so awesome.
This game really shows how quickly these DLC matches snowball, everything could be different if Curseblades had gone differently by like 1 second. Playing from ahead is an entirely different game!

I'd love to see a courtesy rule where a player could overrule the ref's decision (like with Parky marking Romina too late) if they don't think the call really affects things. It'd be great for sportsmanship, I think. There was a similar one earlier this season where (I think) vswed accidentally marked the wrong square and took like 1s too long to unmark it again. Could apply there as well. That said, fantastic match from 2 of my favorite players!
You should never put such responsibility on players heads. It sounds cool in these low stakes games where one of the players is ahead but in tight games, possible for top 4 spot, it can be disaster. And I don't even want to imagine backlash player will suffer for refusing overruling ref's decision.

You just don't see other professional sports do things like that. They have specific rules and operate according to those rules. And in this case, the players even get to have input and vote on the rules. So yeah, you gotta make a rule and stick with it.

Bingo is battleship, not basketball. You can’t see what the other person is doing. Leaving a square unmarked tells the other player you haven’t completed it yet. If the rules allowed this, you could screw over your opponent by withholding info.

If the referees in bingo marked the squares for the players, then yeah, it'd be like battleship. It would also be like battleship if they allowed players to resign. Pausing the game until referees watch the replay frame by frame (as timer has no milliseconds) to see who was faster? Bingo board is the only thing you can see in real time, streams are having delays (atop of already set 5 minutes) so frame comparison would be only way I guess. But then, you can't let players continue without knowing who got the square. And then - if you pause the game for investigation, both players will know that there was snipe which is huge piece of information.
Refs need more purpose in Bingus. They should be the one marking the squares especially when it comes to second to second snipes. I get that Parky should've been watching the board and planning her strat better, but having up to a minute to mark a square is goofy. Ill say it again, Refs need more presence and should be marking every square. Let the players focus on getting the job done. Refs basically call points in physical games, so make them more useful in Bingus. Otherwise, lose the refs and Domo and his cohost can break the news to a player that they have dead squares they cant tally for scores. Its like a player scoring the point and then having to run to the scoreboard to record it on the board. Its dumb.
This is easier said than done. Twitch streams have delays (fe Bushy's stream was more than 5 seconds behind Parkys yesterday), the only thing we can see in the real time is bingus board. It would be impossible to decide tight races without stopping the game and investigating timeframes.

Point is, we as an audience can see that a player has scored a square even if the player didn't mark the square. The refs are more in real time then we are as an audience. Under no circumstances is any game type is a score ignored because a player didnt mark their scorecard, because players dont mark their own scorecards. That needs to be the job of a referee. Bingus is great, Ive been watching since Day 1. But the more it grows, its flaws are starting to show. And the score keeping is the biggest blemish so far.

It used to insrantly proc your stamina regen. But I thought Fromsoft patched this out a long time ago. So idk why they do it now.
