During the show, Andrew constantly interrupted and didn’t allow Ari to speak much. Very frustrating when it was a chance to hear Ari’s views and facts he provided. Agree, was giving me a headache because if I turned down the volume of that noise, could not hear the dialogue, so I finally muted it and read subtitles. If I run into the problem again, I will just avoid the channel going forward.
In my opinion its not the reactions themselves, but HBO mixes them way up for some reason compared to all the other content. Especially bad if you have a loud environment and have to turn up the volume.

It's gotten to the point where everytime he tells a joke in the monologue, there is applause. It's so annoying and fake, like someone holding up an Applause sign. Clapping for every joke means none of them are worth clapping for.
Ari Melber's presence, the way he talks, he really appears different in a good way compared to most people on this show. He's so seasoned and polished w/his extensive news reporting background. Also, being a former lawyer lets him speak on so many topics as well, confidently, such as Trump's many cases.

Andrew Sullivan has gone down the rabbit hole. When he was in one of his manic episodes he slipped and referred to the Muller investigation into Trump as the "Russia hoax". That was only a hoax if you are a sycophant of Trump. Countless people were indicted and served prison time as a result of that report and the only reason more didn't become of it was that Barr cleaned it and Congress failed to act on it.

That's always been the worst part of the show. Even Bill knows it, but he's a stand-up at heart and no doubt wants the audience there for his monologue. If only they could ask them to leave once that panel discussion starts.
In the past, Bill used to call out his audience more than he does now--he would really get annoyed. At least the infamous "Wohoooo!" dude audience member hasn't been around lately. He single-handedly ruined a number of Bill's shows and made them unwatchable.

Everything is justified in order to satisfy the shareholders. Fire 10k workers & give myself a bonus? Sure why not if it pleases the shareholders. It's unsustainable.

I respect Ari a great deal but it seems to me, and I'm no legal expert, but the argument there's no precedent for the 14th amendment case to exclude Trump from any ballot can't be a reason to not bring such a case. How else is precedent established? If this is not the time or circumstance to bring the only tools the architects of our society provided us to preserve democracy to bear, then when? I think it's a bit of relativity there ...
While you think Ari is far left .... it might indicate how far to the right you are sitting yourself ....
Is there any scientific or objective way to establish exactly where the CENTER is located .... ??
As an example ...
Back in the 1850s the emancipation of slavery was considered to be a VERY radical idea ....
But if you want to find the center you need to establish the most radical opposing positions ....
At one end was the idea that it was right and proper for white people to own black people as property ...
The Polar opposite would be if black people owned white people as property ....
At the center point ....
All people are equal and no one owns anyone as property ....
In hindsight it seems obvious ...
And maybe a hundred years from now the issues we are currently wrangling with might also have answers that are obvious ....
Our great great grandchildren will wonder wtf was wrong with those troglodytes .....
But the best we can do is to disagree without being disagreeable ....
I'm trying my best to avoid the hostility and insults that run rampant in the interwebs .... ❤

The problem right now is that the legal system is too freakin' slow so there is really no time to make a ruling on Trump ahead of the next election due to no precedence. Trump is the first to attempt the over throw of an election, heck, he is the first to try take the Capitol beside the Confederates to which they didn't get close enough. Why do you think Trump held his little speech to his minions so close to the Capitol? It wasn't so he was close the the BBQ his minions were really having at the Capitol building.
@@Tom-oz7iy - who said Trump broke the "rules outlined in the Constitution'? We don't leave such matters up to the lying fools in the media and the gullible, ignorant masses that are slaves to their lies. Your TDS is not allowing for clear thinking on this matter. How can Trump be guilty of something he hasn't even been charged with? If he really was somehow responsible for some sort of "insurrection or rebellion" against the US, wouldn't the FBI or DOJ, who have been investigating this whole Jan 6th matter for over 3 years, have at the very least charged him for some sort of rebellion or insurrection crime? BTW, how does one "take control" of the US capital with unarmed people walking around the halls of Congress for a couple hours until the police eventually kick them all out? And how does one take control of the Capital without any weapons or any plans to eventually subdue the police, the army, etc? How do you go from controlling the speaker's lectern, to controlling the nuclear codes? Only someone suffering from severe TDS would make that kind of clueless jump in logic. You really need some sort of professional help from your delusions brought on by severe TDS.
@@Tom-oz7iy Regarding sully's take on the hypocrisy of removing trump from the ballot while claiming to protect voters rights and democracy. there are set rules for being allowed on our voting ballots. can a 34 year old run even if they are the most loved person on the planet ? NO. can a person born in Austria , like Arnold Schwarzenegger seek the presidency ? NO. many confederate soldiers were prevented from running by the 14th amendment, and rightfully so. trumps actions on, during and after January 6th disqualify him from being on the ballot, its that simple. my second point is to ask why the electoral college was created ? it was to stop the public at large from putting an undesirable in office via popular vote. how is that democratic ? furthermore it failed when trump was first elected, and it will fail again if he is elected by anything then the popular vote, my winning the majority, 1 American 1 vote. it is time we dump the electoral college for democracy's sake.

The "no redeemable solutions" part is inherent to the typical conservative line of argument.

First of all, movie sets are already exceptionally safe when it comes to guns. The last death by gun on a movie set was 20 years ago. Arguing for zero is insane. We are well past diminishing returns. I wouldn't loosing the rules, but the rules HAVE been working. The person responsible for this accident was the gun master (or whatever they call that position). They didn't follow the rules and handed Baldwin a loaded gun. If Baldwin has any responsibility for the shooting, it is as a producer and allowing the hiring of an unqualified gun master, because it saved them some money. But then the question is, was that really his responsibility? Was the producing credit a vanity credit or was he really producing the film? Was that his job? Who picked the gun master?
💯 Absolutely correct. An actor, even Baldwin, is NOT responsible for a live round. Point of fact, actors wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a live round and a blank. He was assured the "prop" was ready.
Her name is Hannah Gutierrez and she should be in prison for her fatal and abysmal misconduct.
Not only should Hannah go to prison, the man who handed Baldwin the gun should have his own cell. These two do not take their jobs seriously.@@TempestasSileras

THE most important thing the government needs to do is create checks and balances in the amount and quality of money office holders can get. THIS is democracy, let the sunshine in!
The most important thing in this regard is to rescind the pass that Congress has given itself on "insider trading".
The USA is not a democracy, is a constitutional republic, which assumes that the common person is too erratic, unintelligent and uninformed to make good decisions. Unfortunately this now describes most republican politicians to a higher degree than it does the average person.
@@SkyRiver1 - Yup, about insider trading. Congress is so corrupt, Democrats and Republicans, with Republicans having the added vice of being unhinged. And I'd like to add that we're also a democracy, albeit a representative democracy, a term that is consistent with being a constitutional republic. The 17th Amendment cemented that fact when it put direct election of senators into the Constitution. (Of course members of the House of Representatives were already elected by democratic vote, although women and minorities and non-land owners weren't initially given the franchise.) I think people get caught up in the fact that the word "democracy" isn't in the Constitution. But neither, for example, is the word "country" and that doesn't mean the United States isn't a country by any reasonable understanding of the word.
