*_I’ve always called it Db, but either way, I’ve always found that tuning to sound the heaviest to me. In standard or dropped, I love it. It’s tuned low enough to get a heavy sound while still maintaining a bite that lower tunings lose._*
That's how I felt for a long time, especially given what a strong singing voice he's got. However, their newer albums rely a lot less on sheer heaviness--"Alaska" as an album always felt a bit claustrophobic to me, but "Colors" and both "Parallax" albums have a lot more space.
Who remembers being 12, finding this on one of those promo dvds and it being too complex. And then coming back to it realizing this was fuckin heavy as shit.
I watched this with my drummer and we were trying to decipher it's meaning. I think it's about the frustration of living in a state where Sarah Palin was governor and the relief when she left office. lol
The intro to this song is the greatest piece of music ever written. If you wrote it in sheet music and played it on a harpsichord, Beethoven's corpse would have an orgasm.
Try learning any of their songs on guitar and you will have infinitely more respect for them as musicians. It's not 'noise' you fargin' trolls.
