    I wish it was asked what the candidates think about the internet being considered a utility. We hardly have enough competition in AZ and it may as well be considered monopolistic enough to require regulation to keep internet providers honest, affordable, and accountable.

      hmm... you have a real good point and I agree that internet should probably be considered a utility as without internet these day, businesses, hospitals, public service, non of it can effectively function without internet access.

      In Joshua Polacheck's Ballotpedia survey, he does mention that he wanted to expand Boardband Internet to more rural areas. That's pretty much the only thing that I saw related to internet power mentioned by any of these candidates. The choices are getting better, I remember 2 years ago there was no other service that offered better internet faster than 50mbps besides COX in my area. Which I absolutely hated! COX (Which I payed $100 a month for 150mbps) would have frequent outrages and unreliable service disconnects even when hardwired. I now have T-Mobile internet, I pay half the amount, have less downtime and I get up to 450mbps. If COVID never happened then I think I would be stuck with COX and there would have never been this expansion to invest in more internet (2021 Doug Ducey invested $100 million to expand High-Speed Boardband on his way out of office). Not sure if it had anything to do with politics in general, but politics probably have been holding it back til recently. I know there were a couple articles I read where Katie Hobbs is already starting to implement more Broadband Internet for Rural and Urban areas (With the Build Back Better Infrastructure money totaling $993 million).

    Wouldn't the "49th cheapest" make us one of the most expensive? They should probably just say "2nd lowest" instead 😂

      Exactly what I thought when I heard that nonsense.

      @@poestis474 That's exactly what I was thinking when I heard Rene Lopez say such. There are only 50 states and if we're the 49th cheapest, that means we're the 2nd most expensive in the country! Sounds like we're getting raked across the coals-- something seems quite off with the way he stated his claim.

    Who believes that Arizona ranks 2nd lowest in the country in energy costs? Well, Lea Marquez Peterson does which is how she justifies the extreme increases in rates that she happily voted for. Vote out Lea Marquez Peterson!

    I don't live in AZ anymore.(Can't afford it.) I remember watching this debate about 12 years ago in AZ. The Democrats had an amazing plan for using solar. Sadly they were not elected. I am no longer a Democrat but again they have an amazing team for CCC. I wish the people of AZ would vote for the candidate rather than party alliances. The rural areas have been under represented for years.

      Solar is overrated and does not provide the long term savings the dealers claim. The homeowner ends up paying far more over the course and life of the product. Maintenance fees are greater than most people think to maintain aging solar panels!

    A candidate is promoted by a utility that wants higher rates. Utility has "extra" money to spend on commercials. The candidate gets elected because of all the promotion. Utility gets higher rates so more extra money that they can spend on commercials. If the utility can contribute to a campaign, the rates are too high

    • @algallego
      @algallego 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Utility Companies should have no part in advertising or promotion for candidates-- sounds like an ethical conflict of interest going on here! It should be considered illegal for favored candidates to be pushed by any utility corporation!

      What guarantees do we have that Democrats won't do the same-- if the current federal administration serves as any example to us, Joe Biden and cohorts have not saved us on our cost of energy production in this nation. It doesn't help enriching Saudi princes to pay for high priced imported oil when we can produce it on the home front! All these mamby pamby NIMBY types have no idea how much the federal government is driving up costs for average American consumers with imports serving foreign interests!
