    Now you tell me about that awesome pad for red rubber stamps ;-) Earlier this year I spent several weeks removing my many stamps on wooden blocks and mounting them on that sticky messy backing to save space and so I could use my misti. What a great idea!

    These are so cute! I too have a lot of rubber stamps and have taken some off of blocks and converted to the foam cling sticky back. Companies should consider stamping the design on the back of unmounted rubber stamp which would make it a little easier to line up if using the clear stamp holder you used today.

    You can also apply a thin coat of Aileen’s Tack It Over and Over to the back of the red rubber stamp, let dry, and then it will stick to a regular stamping block. It lasts a good long time. 😊

      I did that with a bunch of stamps and found I didn’t like it. I loved being able to store lots of stamps in a small space but I noticed after awhile it dried out and they didn’t stick ☹️

    Nifty! I ran out of EZ-mount and really didn’t want to buy more. The clear mount is a great solution! Also...I’ll bet it can be used to create and stamp mirror images. What a cute card - I love that black bear. My bears are always brown - probably because Calif bears are brown. I live in LA - we get zero snow and I am happy to confine the snow to my cards. Ha.

      Sherry, I hear ya about confining snow to cards. I live in Sacramento and obviously we get zero snow too. I think it's pretty to look at but wouldn't want to live in it. Living close enough to drive to it one in a while is fine by me.

    That clear mount block is a great idea! I don’t know of any other company besides Purple Onion selling unmounted rubber stamps, but if I decide to add to my SY collection I would certainly get the mount block. EZ Mount is not fun, everything in my craft room (including myself) ends up sticky. LOL

    Thank you so much for explaining those clear stamps! I thought they were mounting blocks every time I saw them in the store. Gosh, now I really need those! :) I have been using double sided tape, which is fine, but the clear stamps will be so much easier!
    Your coloring is always a pleasure to watch! :)

    I’ve been taking my rubber stamps off their wooden blocks and, where necessary, adding fun foam with my glue. Once that dries good, you can coat that with a tacky glue and, voila! You have free stamps you can use in your stamping platform! I’ve always had such a problem with wood block stamps getting a good image, this trick has been a godsend. I’m sorry I can’t remember which TH-camr shared that technique, but she/they are genius!! (Search TH-cam for Making Cling Stamps from Wood Block Rubber Stamps and you’ll find them!). So don’t throw out the wood block stamps! With care and time, you can double your stamp supply!!

    That big clear rubber stamp thingy is great. Do you get it from any place that sells the MISTI . I was a demo for SU and I hate to tell you how many stamps I have that are on wood blocks. Love the cards, Sandy! And great save on the ice hut roof--thank you for sharing how you fixed that "mistake." Question, though. How do you store unmounted red rubber stamps? I mounted all mine on Ez-mount, and just keep them stuck to clear sheets from cut-up stamp pockets. Then insert them into (other) pockets with a piece of cardstock that I stamp the images on as a reference sheet. So they store easily, in the same manner as my clear stamps. Since I have plenty of Ez-mount left, I doubt I'll change my method, but I'm just curious about storage. Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your artwork. Take care, & have a wonderful day! :)

    Thank you for this. I see you're using a rubber stamp on your platform. Do you know if platforms themselves wear out or get wavy? I'm having so much trouble with evenness of stamping. I ink and ink, and press and press, but there are parts of my larger stamps that just WILL NOT print. I've tried flipping the door from rubber to acrylic, and moving them to different parts of the platform to no avail. I'd almost go back to using it on the block, but I can't re-stamp it if something doesn't come out the first time. Grrr. Frustration!

    • @SandyAllnock1
      @SandyAllnock1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s usually from uneven mounting, but it could be the platform I suppose. My MISTI hasn’t had that trouble.
