LOVEBITES - Dystopia Symphony lyrics & credits:
Like it's an end of world
    Making me fall apart
Pushing me to the edge of the darkness
Taking my breath away, and now it taking away my emotion
Why was I the one He chosen
Hear me cry when I'm running away from the storm
    It's almost right behind me
The shade of moon above, wandering high in sky
    Following everywhere in a silence
The shower of the light melting into the sleeping deep night
Lost in maze, it's all I hear now
Echo in my mind from far away
Wish to hold it in my heart to feel the love
Sadness, madness, edginess, and sense of loss
    Breaking through tragedy, somewhere
There is much more to see beyond
    I stand to face bravely
    God, Heavenly light
    Shining in deep beneath
Bringing a life to crystal bloom
    Heavenly bless
Lay me in peace with this melody
SOLO: midori / miyako / both
Like it's an end of world
    Making me fall apart
Pushing me to the edge of the darkness
Taking my breath away, and now it taking away my emotion
Why was I the one He chosen
Hear me cry when I'm running away from the storm
    It's almost right behind me
Sadness, madness, edginess, and sense of loss
    Breaking through tragedy, somewhere
There is much more to see beyond
    I stand to face bravely
    God, Heavenly light
    Shining in deep beneath
Bringing a life to crystal bloom
    Heavenly bless
Lay me in peace with this melody
    Heavenly light
    Shining in deep beneath
Bringing a life to crystal bloom
    Heavenly bless
Lay me in peace with this melody

This was my fav Lovebites song until "Soldier Stands Solitarily" came along. "Dystopia Symphony" is an innovative blend of prog and neoclassical metal at its finest. This track exemplifies the compositional & arrangement prowess of Miyako. She composed this song as a tribute to Beethoven when the maestro was coming to terms with his hearing loss. In this track, you can clearly hear the Beethoven motifs from the 3rd movement of "Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-Sharp Minor, Op. 27, No. 2" (aka "Moonlight Sonata") and "Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13" (aka "Sonata Pathétique"). They haven't played this track LIVE yet, but I hope they will do so in future LIVE shows.

@@Celion27200 The setlist site is incorrect. I'm not sure why someone has not corrected it yet. According to the actual setlist (I've seen a copy of it signed by the band members), it's "Spellbound" at #8 on the list and not "Dystopia Symphony". The ladies might have planned to play this track initially but they didn't on the actual night. The rest of the setlist you have provided is correct.

Unsurprisingly, Miyako wrote this song. She's been playing classical piano since she was 3 yo (started guitar @ 18). She loves Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and Liszt . . Also has a degree in music composition. Since you mentioned violin, she also plays bass, drums, 7 & 8 string guitar, trombone and . . Violin.

From the EP "Glory, Glory To The World"
This song composed by Miyako is based on Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8. According to Midori this song is about Beethoven's sorrow, overcoming his hearing loss.
Midori stated it marks the first time she has played this kind of progressive metal! 🤘🎹🔥
Miyako and Fami can play the violin.

  • @a_un
    @a_un 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

This song incorporates Beethoven's piano sonata (Moonlight) as you pointed out. And if you look a little more closely, you might notice that Miyako has incorporated another Beethoven piano sonata (Pathétique) as a motif.
There are no live videos of this song.
This is just my own fantasy... I think it would be difficult to play this song live in its original form without significant arrangement. The beauty at the core of Dystopia Symphony is the exquisite melody structure created by the two lead guitars and piano. In other words, I think that in order to play this song at its best in real time, two Miyakos would need to be present at the same time.

Miyako mixed in a couple of Beethoven works in the melodies - Moonlight Sonata and Pathetique 2nd Movement. The violin is likely from midi/synth laid down by Miyako.

Saving "Winds of Transylvania" for next Halloween?
You can tell who is soloing because Midori uses the whammy bar a lot like in We are the resurrection and Stand and deliver, and is not afraid to go atonal. Miyako uses more classical harmonies and tapping.
There's another Beethoven quotation in the part where the guitars are harmonizing, after the second solo: Piano Sonata No. 8 "Pathetique", Second Movement

Glad you reacted to this song. This is Miyako's metal masterpiece. It is still my favorite. From a previous reaction you mentioned that you would like to hear a slower song by Asami like Epilogue. There is a song that is a favorite of mine that is not as slow as Epilogue, but nonetheless provides a different sound for Asami. It is called Puppet on Strings and is a melancholy song, and she has a sweet sound, There is no live version for this, but there is a video that has pictures to watch. I enjoy your videos. Thanks!

@sadaka201 I do have to agree that is this case, it's less of a reaction because there is zero flow to the music and breaks. I know this song of course, but I too draw a line of what acceptable breaks means in a reaction. For me, this was too long and choppy. And the cardinal sin of killing a guitar solo - it's an unwritten rule not to pause during solos.
