This is awesome!! Echoing on that part especially, the emergence of "one-person company"!! That's exactly what we just talked about last month at a tech meeting up. Thanks for the valuable sharing!

"Hi everyone, here are the industries where we can most quickly/efficiently make human workers disposable, and transfer their salaries into shareholder profits!
My favorite part of this video is how gleeful these investors are about creating massive labor and privacy problems, on top of the existential nightmare.
This is why capitalism doesn't work in a world of A.I. at least not in the way we do it now. Corporations will do what's best for shareholders. Which is to get rid of people.
Where should we have stopped? Before or after the discovery of fire? Steam engines? Antibiotics? I get the fear but crying isn't going to solve anything.
On the field of dreams metaphor. You need to capture expenses saved and revenue, not just revenue (ie F500s automating internal customer care, policy support etc).
20:53 lacks basic economic meaning, requires inflation adjustment. Flat for 20 years in real terms. That being said profit/worker ratio is a far better measure than revenue/worker as otherwise you're ignoring efficiency gains reflected in margin growth.
Yes at the end of the day we can drive down costs and be better in terms of product but this will also remove the need for humans to do a lot of the work. This is ideal but in reality this doesn’t help people. It just helps the rich people richer and doesn’t grow the society to make them better. I am a proponent of tech and will be but it needs to be for the betterment of society and not just the big guys getting better
I really doubt agents will take humans out of the loop entirely... they'll rather run as autonomously as users like and will prompt the human for approvals (and corrections) frequently.
Is anyone working to create a bug-like (inspired) garden drone that can self-deploy itself (i.e. be fully autonomous) so as to indefinitely maintain the desired shape of my backyard trees, bushes, and shrubs? So, no more falling off ladders. No more a need for dangerous tree cutting tools. And no more expensive tree service calls. I'd call it ... The BonzAI Because that is the type of ground-breaking, industry-disrupting, AI product that "the market" will want to see ... soon.

The excitement to replace human beings with AI and saying so with a smile is so dehumanizing. Can't wait to replace VC's with AI investors. If I was a family office, I would choose an AI investor over smarmy VC's anyday.
What about the value of money? As you know, the USD has value in the USA because people are willing to work for it. Need a plumber, call him to come work for you and he will gladly take your usd in the USA. Don't try to pay him with Chinese yuan or Euros, that won't work. If workers don't work for that currency, it has no value. So, AI robotic workers have no need to work for currency either , so what will that do to the value of USD, etc?
Yes so this will help the owners but what about the masses.....And what will you all do when labor markets collapse cuz the new robotic workers will have no need to buy the stuff that you all make? haha
Thank you Sequoia for publishing these talks.
Thank you so much for uploading this and not hoarding this knowledge in silicon valley. I think you are doing the world a massive favour!
Love the session. And Pat was being very euphemistic. By "replacing services with software", it really means "replacing human workers with software"
YES....100% correct.

Thank you for making these available! Great stuff!
Good stuff guys. Captures the historical present and future opportunities very well
one of the best videos to illustrate the opportunity of AI, thanks a lot!
Fantastic insight on the AI industry’s evolution and future. Thank you!
Insightful analysis on AI funding and its impact on technology evolution

I use chatGBT and its one of the best AI tools I've downloaded this year. Keep up the great work guys.

Very informative video. You guys are amazing.
Thanks for sharing!
Great insight to the AI market but at 26:01 I guess there was a typo in node Recommend ations shouldn't it be actions?
Bro it is the word recommendations 😅. Average order value depends on product catalog and personalized product recommendations

One good "halfway point" that's good for anyone who wants to catch-up, and not feel it's dumbed down or spoonfed.
Good forum Sequoia

Do not let Konstantine anywhere near your companies my god
what an idiot
Why?
Pretty realistic talk in my opinion from his side
Why?
James is right
Does Sequoia focus on candidate experience platform ?
Does anyone know the brand of Constantine’s jacket?
Thank you

Good history of tech comparisons

Respect 👏
After watching this video for 3 times in one day, I’m now thinking about quitting my job next Monday
+1
I'm curious about why. To pursue a company idea or don't see the point in working?
Yes tell us why
Haha same only it’s the second day in a row!
I already did lol!

Plato’s idea is a metaphysical entity, which ai can never grasp.
I would be very careful with using the words “AI” and “never” in the same sentence.
@@uwepleban3784 Chinese room territory. If ai can truly reason (do first-order logic and detect fallacies), I will reconsider my position.

Did he say AI reduces housing cost??
They are making a basic mistake trying too hard to tie the AI story to historical precedents.
