It's pretty widely assumed that they didn't actually change vocalists. I've listened pretty carefully to both albums and I'd bet money it's the same guy. Also, if you watch a few videos, they have all the same mannerisms. The whole concept of Ghost is a gimmick and there are multiple interviews where they call it a gimmick themselves. But having a gimmick doesn't mean they aren't great musicians...they are. I've been grooving on them for awhile now. I just saw them live and it was epic.

I agree completely. I think some of it had to do with the fact that they did a lot of double vocal tracks in Subvision songs that kind of made Tobias sound pitchy...but Ghost uses really complex harmonies instead which sound gorgeous and really refined.
