Climbing and Rigging a Split Tree

We signed a contract to prune and cable a large Norway maple with a significant codominant lead. Two weeks later a storm split the tree at the very union we were going to protect with a cable. At the time of the estimate Kevin set three binding straps on the trunk and installed an old climbing line as a canopy support. Today’s video records Taylor, Kevin’s son, climbing and rigging the tree down, which was in close proximity to the house. Utilizing two GRCS.rigging devices, one to hold the tree together, and a second to utilize in rigging. The tree was safely dismantled and Taylor did a great job showing the versatility of the GRCS rigging system.
