    You're a threat to them because they don't want you to expose them. But as times goes on. More and more people will see them for the narcissist that they really are. Leave them alone. Let them live their chaotic, dramatic, grandiose life. While you heal

    The bottom line is the narcissist will continue doing the same things to you, just in different ways, for as long as you allow them to. They never change, they only get worse.

      Very true! They never change. If it looks like change, it’s just altered behavior to get their needs met. Everything is about them. Took me years to fully understand this. It’s a survival mechanism they’ve adopted to in childhood and carried into adulthood. My ex said I was his wife and God told him. 1 month later I was discarded again 🤦‍♀️ now he’s saying “I’m trying to find my wife” to anybody who will believe him.

      @@kellithomas9080I haven't have contact with my mother for three years, she is 86 yers. She is not giving up (in). I let her know some of what I know, and let her know I will deny what you have lied about me. I was to late,she had already Calle my entire kinfolk, crying and of course playing the offer..I sm alone and she get people who believes her to hand out they don't even known they are traumatize me over and over..she is a covered narc.The most difficult for me was seeing she rather see me dead than been exposed. That is still unbelievable in some ways.

      Lol the entire concept of Capitalism comes crashing down. The rich people and celebrities look like fools. They are after narcissistic supply and the variety of houses, cars, status are just props for a disordered person. The system of Capitalism is run by these fools for their advantage. It's manipulation and a lie how the economy and the politics of a nation have been designed. Their traits are intended to win and they manipulated us to work for them.

    From a Narcissist's perspective: You're the "bully" and they're they "victim" because you won't let them bully you, attack you, belittle you, berate you, use you and abuse you anymore and you continue to be their victim, willingly and without complain. It doesn't mean you're the bully. It doesn't mean they're the victim. It means you're no longer a rug mat for them to walk all over and wipe their mud all over, and them feeling entitled and totally justified to do it.

    • @cherylnathanodette
      @cherylnathanodette ปีที่แล้ว +15

      If you have never been a bully, but someone bullies you, even the most patient person will snap and say enough is enough.. As I like to phrase it the worm turns. Once that happens the jig is up and anyone worth their salt won't put up with it. So if you then stick around more fool you. Manipulation is neither fun or makes for a happy person. • @bhabi7071
      @bhabi7071 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yes, in my experience they move incredibly fast when they realize they lost control of you.
      Two other points that especially resonated with me.
      1. They aren't heartbroken, though it appears that way. The prime narcissist in my life is like an extremely gifted method actor.
      It's like a skill they have subconsciously developed, because for them it's about survival of their ego, and not being unmasked.
      They are upset that they've lost control. I think ultimately that in turn brings on an incredible amount of fear, because if they've lost control, you may unmask them further. Publicly. Bringing on public shame, which is kryptonite to them.
      My experience, is that they almost feel like their life is threatened after they have been called out. I interpret that as someone who genuinely feels frightened. They react as if they're very life and existence is in jeopardy. As if they are in deep peril.
      From their perspective, their very being is in jeopardy. Being unmasked to them feels like the ego being killed.
      2. Think like them. A " looking behind the mirror" staple, and SO VERY HELPFUL.
      Not because we are trying to be empathetic, or caring, or think we can fix them... That's the trap. Rather, it helps us to see their alternate reality, how extremely divergent it is from reality, and hence makes us better able to protect ourselves.
      It's akin to thinking like the enemy. In a previous video, mirror indicated that this is like a war. This is exactly my experience. I didn't choose this work, I am not a fighter, but after a forest full of olive branches, and nothing but abuse in return, it would be nothing but foolhardy appeasement to keep going in the same direction.

I told my in-laws we were no longer going to do stuff with the brother and SIL. (My MIL is still pushing for a fake relationship though, because she's a narc too.) The brother and SIL suddenly want a "do-over"--they told my MIL not us--but we've kept our distance. Recently my husband's brother texted him happy birthday, something he's NEVER done in my husband's lifetime.... Desperation, indeed. The brother and SIL want to keep their "good" facades on, and I'm just smashing it to the ground where they place us all. I'm not falling for it, and I never have.

    I'm actually glad I was discarded. Not in the moment, oh no. In the moment of the discard I had been gaslit so bad my brain was like shorting out. BUT, after having been discarded so harshly after having done nothing wrong [except putting up a boundary to protect myself], I knew there was some kind of pathology behind how she had behaved and acted because it was so foreign and bizarre to me. It also baffled the hell outta me how she was NOT the person who she had portrayed herself to be since I had known her from first grade. THAT was the real reason why she was so jealous of me. Because I know who I am. I always have. She has no identity. Main point I wanted to get across was that the harshness of the discard helped me to learn about narcissism and begin to heal. No contact is the best way. Just like the discard was harsh and horrible for you, being indifferent and never communicating again with a narcissist delivers them a crushing blow and lets them know you can never be controlled by them ever again.

    • @Anonymous-sf7oe
      @Anonymous-sf7oe ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The exact same thing happened to me !
      You think you know someone so well, trust them and you see them in a certain light from so long ago. Looking back, gradually through the years there have been red flags that pop up here and there but you choose to overlook them because you like this person, and after all nobody is perfect, right?
      Then came the moment when I was gaslit in a way that could not be explained away, and major cognitive dissonance took place within me.
      When I stood my ground and refused to be gaslit then out came a fury that I had never seen before and was completely disproportionate.
      After refusing to give in to the anger there was pleading from the narcissists part...
      I think that the more we learn and understand about narcissism and the healthier we get ourselves when it comes to boundaries and self-awareness, the more we can see these traits all around us and we can easier reevaluate old relationships and see them in a new light.
      But it hurts really bad to realize that the realtionship was not what you thought it was. I was also the subject of envy. Being envied, I can take, because after all it can be something that many people struggle with and you don't have to be a bad person to struggle with envy.
      But what was far worse was that I realized that I was systematically being undermined and made to doubt myself and my perception of events, when I was looking for advice or reassurance about something.
      That, to me is something completely different - that is just evil.

After what I have seen from him in the relationship and post-separation, I know he is capable of doing way more evil than I can ever imagine. Since she was saying how bad the Covid was I assumed she must have taken time off , but she said she went to work even on that day , hidddn meaning was that she does not let illnesses interfere with her work , whereas I was totally immobilized by a very different issue that no specialist was even able to diagnose because of the deep injury she had caused me , what she called “just an accident” , the message was so clear that I must be a weak person to be so immobilized. During the course of last two years I have realized how many people actually become suicidal despite family support , that I did not have , when faced with the kind of medical complications I have had , and for her to imply by comparing my ordeal with self limited duration of Covid in a healthy adult was so cruel!

    Nailed the scenario of threats. SAHM and physician husband were divorcing (he filed). He had come into a situation where he no longer had to work but retained full income and threatened to take full custody of the kids. And that she would be in a one bedroom apartment, working full time to sustain it after being out of the work force for 20 years. Since he wasn’t working anymore he couldn’t use work as a reason to not do anything around the house or for/with the kids. He couldn’t use work as a reason to destress and travel with his friends, sleep in, go out with his buddies, and not participate in the family. So he wanted a divorce.
    She has majority custody of one child, and full custody of another. She has half the assets, she and the children still live in their home. He pays alimony and child support.
    But yes, he went on a smear campaign to friends and family, and even straight to her face. He would tell her outlandish things that they both knew weren’t true.

    I've come across two of these types in my life and if you have too, it's probably because your an empath. They seek out those who have genuine emotions and care for others. You and I would see caring, empathy, compassion etc and good qualities to have in another person. Narcs see it as a weakness to exploit.
    Your right, pointing out something they did with factual evidence is pointless because they don't live in reality. What they believe is their reality so evidence of something means nothing to narcissists so when you point out an abusive thing or mistake or fault they have, they typically respond with "well what about you when you did that thing over there." Its always about avoiding being accountable for anything.
    You show them evidence the sky is blue and if they have a vested interest to believe it's green then it's green and no amount of evidence is going to tell them different. They are special so they know it's green and because you and I are not special but we're stupid,.we think it's blue. This sounds ridiculous namely because it is absolutely ridiculous but your not dealing with a logical thinking adult when it's a narcissist. Your dealing with a toddler in an adults body who lives in a never never Peter Pan like world.
    As empaths, never underestimate the power we have against narcissists. When you see through their act and your understand this is actually a wolf presenting itself as a sheep, you just stop reacting to the buttons being pushed, just reply "that's your opinion, your entitled to it" and change the subject and don't let them draw you into their game. We can think and we feel, they only do the former and not very good at it, either.
    "the skys green, everybody knows that and agrees so I think I should know!"
    Ok that's fine, your welcome to your opinion. I disagree. What would you like for dinner.
    When that fails to get your reaction, time to pull ace card, or more appropriate, that victim card they always have up each sleeve and use it for their smear campaign.

    Then married a covert narcissist with sociopathic traits, 15 years trying to figure it out, 4 attempts at leaving, out now, protection order, so no contact. I'm surrounded by them in my immediate family. My only protection was my parents and two grandmother's which are all deceased. I'm 57 years old and my only sister has been enemy number one since day one. By the grace of God have I been able to endure her attacks and also fight back, after all I am the older sister by 13 months and at least have 5 inches over her in height.....lol. Every little bit helps, trust me. Anyway I've come to grips that they will never change or acknowledge their wrong doings and unfortunately they get worse with age. We pray that they don't go from bad to worse but that's just a fantasy. May God help them and us. Not caring and focusing on yourself is a good way to start to detach from them. Sometimes I say if you can't beat them join them, not to stoop down to their level but to do more of the self centered things they do. Just be self absorbed and admit it, nothing wrong with taking care of yourself right? It's a must. As far as the guilt trips go maybe agree with them instead of getting on the defensive side. The using of unused energy was never worth it for me. I'm a lover not a fighter. And I've always had boyfriends by my side when I was younger. My narcissists are all of the women in my life. My aunts, my first cousins, my sister and a few friends. Like The Lord has said, Where there's one Judas there's seven more. Learn from the master and Lord Jesus Christ who is the prime example and victim of all. Even God had to go through it, so who am I to complain? Think about it. It's God's grace and wisdom that's giving each and every one of us the wisdom to understand these individuals. Obviously they simply don't have God, what's worse is they may have the evil one. Then you really must arm yourself. Not an easy task. Many are called but few are chosen. The truth will set you free.

    Thanks for making me laugh at some of the madness we’ve all been going through. I like your little undertone of humor here and there. 😀
