I was always moved by Arirang, as my mom sang it to me as lullaby 40+ years back. She herself heard it from her Korean nanny 80+ years ago. Mom is 86 now and she still remembers the lyrics well, though she herself is not Korean by origin and doesn't speak Korean.
Heard this music for the first time while visiting the Korean War Museum nine years ago, it really moved me. My son moved from Scotland to teach English for 12 month`s, that was nine year`s ago, he never came home. He now has a Korean wife and last year gave me a cute little Grandson. Visited them in October 2022, heading back April 2023, cant wait.

well, just so you know, Korea actually was one of China way back at the start of china's history, they were called Han Guo, which is literally Korea in Chinese and probably broke off at ming dynasty bcuz their traditional dress are similar to Ming Dynasty's Hanfu
