Glad I found your TH-cam video, I bought and brand new land Ranger still in the box off a friend for $120!. Been out learning how to use it. Your video told my alot that I didnt know and now I think I have it down. Thanks alot for your time and teaching me some of the in's and out's on the land ranger.

It's a very good detector for under $300. It will detect coins up to 6 inches. Mostly 5". I own one and this past year, I had over $577 in clad coins but very few silver coins, 6 in total. About a month ago, I decided to upgrade to a Fisher F75 which gives me about 8 to 9" in depth. So far I have found 5 silver coins including a 1943 silver half at 7 inches. I found a 1946 silver quarter buried at 9 inches. The Fisher F75 VDI showed a quarter but no sound. I decided to dig and out came the silver quarter.
I got mine today and tried it in the yard; found piece of aluminum about 1$ size at 5" it sounded high around 65. I had some EMIs around the house and have to reduce sensitivity. I discriminated iron and used most of the modes; still learning but vids like that help a lot, thanks

Great video. Regardless of the glare, it was really good to get a breakdown on the modes and settings. You have me sold. I see my Eurotek Pro going away soon.
manual gb does carry over. just have to let search kick in after setting before swithing to disc 2,3,4.
Good demo. I wish there was something to do about the glare on the display for this demo, but this explains things better than the manual alone.
Just got this unit today. Hit the local beach and was happy with the results. I found foil and it showed that. Then found tons of rusted nails and it showed iron. Which is cool. Really happy with it. For coins it shows all correctly.

Nice vid! Lot's of features for the price.
If you like nickels may want to hold off. I have a hunt video coming and nickel was really bouncy unlike the ETP. I need more testing...

pack. I'm hinging towards the patriot, but for the price Land Ranger Pro could be a steal.
At about 11:10 into this video he mentions "the lift coil trick" for telling trash from coins. I'd love to know what "the lift coil trick" is. Anyone know what he's referring to.
I put mine on the default artifact mode and it constantly goes off. Im new at this!

Love my BH but right out of the box the PP errors out constantly. I really don't use it but they need to fix this. I'm not the only one with this issue. Now that I learned about using the AM temp mode in coin mode that will help. Thanks.
Hi Austin, what do you mean by erroring constantly? My girlfriend just got me this for Christmas I have no idea how to use it and the instructions are limited. The grounds not frozen and I did go over to and old school this afternoon and found a 62 silver quarter in mint shape and some sixties dimes within the first 15 minutes. However, the pinpoint work sometimes and other times it just stopped. Is that what you mean? I could use any help it would be willing to offer. Thanks!
@@Jayson90210 Yes, the PP button doesn't work correctly. Mine even gives an E3 error. I've read that you can install a bi-pass switch to replace it but I'm not going to. Just buy a Garrett PP and learn to work without the one on the Hunter. You really don't need it. First thing you should do is bury some coins of different sizes, gold and silver rings etc. Practice learning what numbers come up for each one. Saved me a lot of digging junk. Don't forget headphone. Saves on battery life and they help a lot. OH, and remember GOLD shows up in the low 20's. I've finally been finding 14k rings now. Most of all be patient and have fun! Hmmm......I just don't understand why the ID is so flaky on your test machine there. I have have watched this and your nickel test many times. I'm getting solid numbers, one maybe two each way. I'm chalking it up to your regional soil conditions even after your Ground Grab. Here in super soft sandy soil Florida solid numbers even at 10" inches and deeper. My software version is "one" like yours. I have no other explanation. If I get a 35 it's a nickel. If I get a 38 a pull tab. Loving the machine. I have a few vids myself at the beach but just as solid inland but then again nearly as sandy.

is this good for beach hunt? what coil best with it for beach hunt and also is this good for gold hunt? or just coins recommended by this machine?
It will work on dry sand beach or fresh water beach. Not wet salt sand or saltwater. I'd use the stock 11" dd coil on the beach for coverage. It will do fine on gold rings and coins. Small gold jewelry, chains, and prospecting not recommended. It's not tuned for small gold.
I've had some high end machines and recently bought a Tracker IV for coins in the parks in case it's confiscated.
Out in AZ desert right now and just for the hell of it brought out the IV and was shocked that it completely ignores hot rocks! Still getting quarters at 7" along with a dime size gold coin. But for small gold like a gram it's only about an inch. So I was wondering if the top end BH would do better. Have you tried it in mineralized soil? Currently running a TDI which picks up sub .35 gram nugget at 5" and the same gold coin at 8". Not $1000 better though.

not yet. I'm turned of on lack of high tone. I dont relic hunt often.
detectingMO Its pretty awesome for coin hunting even without the high tone. It goes fairly deep and has great speed and accuracy. It is deadly on nickels too. I cant remember if you got one or not. If not we could meet somewhere and you could try it if you want.
DirtFishing Sure, it will have to be a couple weekends out. Maybe labor day weekend meet at kemper or something. too bad you couldn't combine the performance of the g2/f19 with the feature set of the LRP! Its a bit slower in recovery and weaker on nickels than g2 that's for sure. I'll have to play around with more on a longer hunt.
what does gold come up as?
I've found everything BUT gold so I took a gold ring out and buried it in sand around 5" deep. Remember gold is hard to detect past that unless it's big. The ring was a 14k white gold wedding band with diamonds. Not very big. It grunted with mid tones bouncing from 20 - 35. Detected it on top of the sand and had a solid mid tone strong on 20 - 24, still would jump up to 30 if I lifted the coil around 5 to 6 inches. I should have done this a long time ago! Great machine! Use it more than my Garrett AT MAX.
Just bought one and used it 1 hour the pin point went out! The machine can't find a Buick in the middle of a parking lot. Nothing but a chatter box!

It's not a good coin machine . Used it for 1 hour and the pin point went out. It's a noisy machine with Alot of chatter

+Hellbent70 Robertson Start with the sensitivity lower and discrimination higher when first starting out and slowly back off the discrimination and increase the sensitivity as you learn it. HH and good luck!
