As a French person, and as proud as I am of my language, I need to restablish the truth and remind everyone that Vendredi sur Mer is not French but Swiss. We are very happy of the international love and attention she brings us but we have a saying: "rendons à César ce qui est à César" and it is the Swiss here who deserve all the recognition and the praise.
On est d'accord, mais toute son esthétique et son rapport à l'écriture se base sur une certaine idée d'un flegme ou d'un cliché romantique à la "française". Ayant vécu en région Savoyarde à côté de la Suisse, l'imagerie Helvétique n'est pas du tout représentée dans son univers et je pense qu'elle s'en passe allègrement, car moins reconnue, d'une certaine manière à l'international.

Honestly I feel like the video exemplifies how romantic differences can turn relationships murky; as an aromantic lesbian. Both characters have good chemistry, yet the blonde girl fell for the brunette and the latter maybe simply didn't harbor any romantic feelings towards the other girl or was aromantic. Then, the blonde girl is demanding her feelings be reciprocated but the brunette is unable to- thus the attempts to get attention by the blonde girl increase in intensity towards the end of their relationship. The lyrics also allude to a person that doesn't fall in love and is warning another person to not fall for them. I relate a lot.

Deux filles se rencontrent.

This reminds me of my highschool relationship that ended a little over a year into college. I wish we could still be best friends that do things together. I was never out to family and they occasionally ask how’s my best friend? We haven’t seen her in months. I don’t really know what to say. Its beautiful in the beginning because you start out as strangers that become that absolute bestest of friends and everybody starts considering you as sisters cuz of how close you are. Then its becomes even better cuz you’re be literally dating your best friend. Bittersweet and really sad cuz when that relationship ended I lost both my girlfriend and my best friend and the person I grew up with, I lost a part of me that I gave to her for safe keeping.

Ez i’m in very similar situation, the only difference is that we are still friends, it hurts so much that our relationship has changed. That it will never be the same, never as close as before.
