Excellent vid! I'm going to be doing this on my '71 here soon. Luckily, that's the only bad rust I have to repair. You step by step will be very helpful!
Great video! Exactly what mine needs! One part I didn’t see listed… the green(?) reinforcement bar. That also from Cool Cruisers or elsewhere? And what to call it? Thanks!
when you have good tools you can only do a good job unfortunately we are not equipped and we do not have all the knowledge of the engine like you if we want to restore our BJ... good job!!!
@@Jerod_Helt I’m new to the FJ40 life. Any insights on where and how to find the rear gates once I cut out that nonsense smooth panel, and start to restore the normal rear end?
Jerod - when you were welding in the small rectangular piece of metal on the passenger side rear, why did you leave in the small/skinny piece of original tub on the very bottom rather than just cutting it off?
@@Jerod_Helt Restoration work really is a gift and it is difficult to share that work with another person. I have already restored old engines at the factory where I worked. good work. And may God give us the strength to win the covid 19 and win ... success
sending an old video of the factory in 1994 ... I no longer worked there at that time. I worked at Metso minerals Brasil in the mining industry for Latin America and Central America

You are the Charlie Daniels of the angle grinder. Nice work!
Why are you always in such a hurry? LOL. Love the videos!!
lol
As always great video. I’m waiting on my rear sill from CCOT.
Me too. I'm waiting on a bunch of body parts from CCOT as well.. They are great to deal with.
Grat job...i'm going to save it for when i restore mine, thanks

Nice work. Wondering how many hours that took?
Nice job!

You should check out how @Halfasscustoms does his patch panels. I had never seen it before but it really saves time and works well.

Great patchwork. Will look awesome when finished. Which color are you considering? Blue?
Thanks buddy! I’m painting it the original blue color👍
@@Jerod_Helt absolutely beautiful! Those cars look great in blue!
Yeah the stock color is kinda grayish blue. I don’t usually like blue cars but I like this color on an FJ

I wanted to keep the original bend so I didn’t have to try to replicate it. The panel rolls over the edge👍
@@Jerod_Helt ahh...got it!
Good Morning do you work alone or have help?
Alone... all alone...
