Somedays we forget To look around us Somedays we can't see The joy that surrounds us So caught up inside ourselves We take when we should give. So for tonight we pray for What we know can be. And on this day we hope for What we still can't see. It's up to us to be the change And even though we all can still do more There's so much to be thankful for. Look beyond ourselves There's so much sorrow It's way too late to say I'll cry tomorrow Each of us must find our truth It's so long overdue So for tonight we pray for What we know can be And every day we hope for What we still can't see It's up to us to be the change And even though we all can still do more There's so much to be thankful for. Even with our differences There is a place we're all connected Each of us can find each other's light So for tonight we pray for What we know can be And on this day we hope for What we still can't see It's up to us to be the change And even though this world needs so much more There's so much to be thankful for
Mark Hayes American songwriter.yet in my small town of hartlepool based in England north east its in this year's Christmas selection, 2 years to late. Amazing song
My friends and I have performed this song on Christmas Eve and when this morning I heard it here I was moved and cried remembering the moment when we performed this song. thank you God
Tonight*, for the first time in 20 months and 20 days, our choir (Timmins Concert Singers) will be having a live concert. With the new COVID rules if we stand 2 metres away from each other we don't wear the mask while singing. JOY. This is one of the songs we sing and it sure has a lot of different meanings. *2021 11 26

Hi! Can anyone please give me the accompaniment for this arrangement. We will be singing it in church, however we don't have an available pianist. Thanks! Merry Christmas!
Hi I'm a newbie in Choir and my teacher is having the class sing this! I'm an alto and I can't hit the notes! What do I do? Can someone give me some tips? also I lose my place and tune halfway through rehearsing songs... what can I do to not let myself be distracted by the people surrounding me?
If your choir director does not have a segment in your choir rehearsal/class time called "sectionals" - - get together with the other people in your voice section after school and have your own sectional/practice where you focus on and LEARN just your part! Then, when you are back in choir again, you won't follow the singers in the other voice sections. Also try sitting toward the inside of your section so that you are surrounded by people who are singing the same thing that you are supposed to be singing. Another thing to try that will make YOU a "leader" in your section is taking time on your own, in a quiet place, with your MUSIC (not just the words to the song) and sing the song IN YOUR HEAD - - not out loud with your voice, but cause/force your brain to generate the sound of YOUR VOCAL LINE - - not just the melody of the song (which is often in the soprano's part - - but not always). Doing this is what is referred to as "audiation". Audiation is the action of the brain "remembering" for itself, what something sounds like. The funny thing about it though, is that nobody outside of you can hear a thing, but your brain is "hearing" the music just as if it was coming from outside of you by other people singing/playing the music, you singing with your own voice or as if you were listening to the music with earbuds in your ears. The tricky part about this though is that your brain is going to "remember"/play back the sound the way it was learned. If you're unsure of your notes or you learned the "wrong" notes, that's what your brain is going to audiate. You need to have your music with you so that you can READ IT and follow along with it to match what you are audiating with the way the music is printed. That way, when you are back in your choir, you can use the music to SYNC with your brain's music so that you'll not get led off of your part by somebody else's vocal part. This may sound strange to you. But it's the ability to do things like this, in this way, which causes MUSIC STUDENTS to have BETTER, SMARTER BRAINS!
Heard this beautiful piece for the first time in our Adult Choir practice tonight. Feeling truly thankful to have survived Hurricane Irma.
I'm assuming you and I are in the same choir!? CFCArts Rocks!
Good
Somedays we forget
To look around us
Somedays we can't see
The joy that surrounds us
So caught up inside ourselves
We take when we should give.
So for tonight we pray for
What we know can be.
And on this day we hope for
What we still can't see.
It's up to us to be the change
And even though we all can still do more
There's so much to be thankful for.
Look beyond ourselves
There's so much sorrow
It's way too late to say
I'll cry tomorrow
Each of us must find our truth
It's so long overdue
So for tonight we pray for
What we know can be
And every day we hope for
What we still can't see
It's up to us to be the change
And even though we all can still do more
There's so much to be thankful for.
Even with our differences
There is a place we're all connected
Each of us can find each other's light
So for tonight we pray for
What we know can be
And on this day we hope for
What we still can't see
It's up to us to be the change
And even though this world needs so much more
There's so much to be thankful for
