    You've got so nice English, pleasure to listen for me as a foreigner, and also your video helped me to fix my sons wellies as well. Thanks.

    Robert, this is a good quick demo and I hope you are saving people money. No, I don't need any right now, but I did want to tell you something. FYI - In case you hadn't noticed, you can add in the link to your website into the video's description information section. You can do this anytime and on any video. Thanks

    I would like to see the repair after they have been worn for a while, to actually prove the repair was a success.

    So simple! I will try this on my purofort boots. I hope it works well on that material too.

    Really nice video. The problem is that I don't live in the UK so I may not have this specific brand, so does anybody have a clue, what's the "generic" type glue called?

    This does work, I've repaired aigle welingtons with thorn punctures many times and done bigger repair on the split sole of teva walking sandals.

      Hi Paul, Thanks for the feed back. Stormsure adhesive has been a big seller this autumn, with so much rain and so many boots with leaks in them. A big money saver!

    Thanks for the great video! My crack appears to be where the heel and sole meet on the boot. Would this product work there as well?

    • @Glueshop
      @Glueshop  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      IT should work. Also depends on what material the boots are made from. If they are Vulcanised Rubber there is another method: Typically Le Chameau and top of the range Aigle boots. Most other boots will work well with Stormsure Adhesive

      Robert Altham Thanks for the quick response! Mine are Hunter boots if that helps. Unfortunately their website offers little in the ways of fixing their boots.

    • @Glueshop
      @Glueshop  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm! I guess they want you to buy another pair... I just repaired my daughters Hunters last week. Sandpaper over the split area first. Apply the glue and keep horizontal to avoid drips if you can. Best to apply glue it a little at a time and then add another layer later because you need to build up a thick layer (say 2 or 3mm thick) and make sure it cover 10mm either side of the actual split too. It should then last for years.

    Hi there! Thanks for the video -- it's super helpful!
    Is the sanding part necessary? Or would just cleaning the area suffice?

    • @Glueshop
      @Glueshop  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sanding helps, but is not always necessary. The cleaner the better and sanding gives the surface a "key" for the glue to bond to. It will improve the bond strength.

    I can't find this glue in Canada.

    • @Sharperthanu1
      @Sharperthanu1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You cant find this type of glue in Canada but you can find a couple of reasonable alternatives: You can find silicone based adhesives (like fabric glue,or there's a certain type of silicone based adhesive you can buy at Dollar Tree,it comes in a short round plastic container with a tapered top on it.You can find it in the craft section at Dollar Tree.Also you can use plain old rubber cement or silicone caulking for your house,but if you use rubber cement or silicone caulking you need REALLY GOOD VENTILLATION and yopu need to wear a protective breathing mask when you use these two types of glue because they give off strong,flamable fumes).

      Does this stuff work on a split in the wellie leg?
      1 of my wellies has an inch long split approx so bigger than a hole. Is this stuff any good on that sort of thing. I'm so cross as they are just a year old

    • @Glueshop
      @Glueshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@libbyreesbarresi7459 Yes, It should certainly work on this type of split. Give the surface a good sand papering before you apply a thick film of glue. No patch needed.

  • @kpzcbttp

    The hole in my Aigle wellingtons is at the joint where the sole meets the upper (heel are) its like a small horizontal tear, its as if the heel is coming away from the upper. Have tried different glues, but none worked, wondered if Stormsure would be suitable for this type of tear. Thank you.

    • @Glueshop
      @Glueshop  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With Vulcanised Rubber you maybe best using a commercial tyre repair patch and glue on the outside. Vulcanised rubber can be difficult, Sometimes Stormsure works OK and sometimes not (it depends on the amount of oil and sulphur in the rubber) If the split has gone the whole war through then use Stormsure adhesive on the inside. It will stick well to the lining and the inner surface, but you will need to smooth the glue surface with a wet finger as it cures to make sure it remains comfortable on your heel.

    Don't bother I've used this with the patches and without.they both fell off within a week.use a puncher outfit it's better and cheaper

      I disagree. I've repaired bike inner tubes with just a smear of Stormsure and no patch. It wotks brilliantly and is much easier than patching. However it's not to be used for roadside repairs as it has to dry and cure for several hours
