What Merritt and the Huskers did for Volleyball this year was special beyond compare. I'll be a fan of hers from here on out.

They posted both Madi and asjia who were superb in the tournament. I agree they should post Halter and Wennas as well, but I mean 3 players being highlighted vs 2 is not much of a difference. Hook em 🤘

I would love to see Ella Swindle highlight reel bc it’s so unique. She sets on the ground bc of injury and she is such an amazing setter

Beason reminds me a lot of Annie Drews on the National Team. Big, tall, aggressive, gets lots of momentum behind her when she attacks, but too often pounds the ball straight into the block. She's gotten better over the season, but still needs to learn to SEE what's in front of her and pound the ball off the EDGES of the block or around/over it. She has so many positive quallities/traits, just needs to take her skills to the next level.
Merritt is a very talented volleyball player! The Huskers had an incredible season and the squad should be very proud of themselves! Hopefully the experience gained will inspire and motivate the squad to achieve their goals for next year!

She only had ONE highlight from the Texas match, and it was a block. That pretty much sums up her performance that game. She was hitting out of bounds and into the block all match long. She's got so many positive qualities, I hope she learns what it takes to be a lethal terminator. Basically, she needs to SEE the block better and quickly turn the ball at more radical angles.
Or it could have been Texas was just the better team that day. On some of her blocks, Texas was camped out waiting for her as their tough serves gave Setter Bergen Reilly few choices. When Beason was able to get it past the block, the Texas defense stepped up. For example, at 14-10 in the second set, Beason would have had a great kill except Akana had a better dig. At 22-11 in the third set, Beason would have had a good back row attack from the middle, except Asjia O'Neal had a phenomenal dig which Wenaas punched to the back of the court for a point. It was just one of those days that one team had everything working for them, and the other team could not do anything.
She wasn’t even getting the ball that’s how out of system they were, Texas didn’t get to see Nebraska in system which is props to Texas but if Nebraska would’ve handled Texas serve there is no way Texas was beating Nebraska

Nah texas was beating Nebraska if they were in system ALL DAY, i could argue that the Tennessee team was way better than nebraska in the tournament and they were in system most of the time which stretched that game to 5 against texas. I get that Nebraska was out of system but Bergen barely set the back row i believe she set harper once back there and beason twice, she could have thrown that ball back there multiple times but didnt. Nebraska simply just got out played.
@@ashleeshenaniganslet be frl Texas got their flowers but I’m a husker fan so I have seen every game of Nebraska all season I have seen their game all year round. Their passing was horrible they couldn’t get no momentum at all. “In system” 😭😭 they were not in system at all, no momentum, and weren’t digging balls. Which is all to Texas but as a person who has seen every game Nebraska showed y’all 9% of what they were capable of. Im saying tho with all respect as well but if Nebraska would’ve handled Texas serve better or made changes, they would’ve beat Texas. Volleyball is a game of momentum you either have or don’t. Texas had all game Nebraska never reached theirs. Due to their confidence being dragged bc they couldn’t pass, or get good swings, which again is all credited to Texas.
She is an elite level player, the height she attacks at, her speed and defense is definitely team USA 6-ro oppo worthy. Give her a few years internationally and she can be a star.
Beason reminds me a lot of Annie Drews on the National Team -- big, tall, strong, comes at the ball with tons of momentum behind her. BUT, they both tend to pound the ball straight into the block. It's taken Drews quite a while to stop doing that (actually, she still has that problem). Beason has definitely improved over the season, but still needs to learn the art of SEEING what's in front of her and turning the ball sharply off the edges of the block. Some players never seem to be able to acquire that skill, let's hope Beason figures it out.
@djbenje4019 certainly. She has had some amazing shots around double even triple blocks, but she has some perfecting to do. At the pro level she is just any other oppo, what sets the best apart is what u said; those who can see what's in front of them, and make a decision accordingly.
