Sooo.. they work well in whitewater? We have similar rivers up here that we fly fish. Considering one of these for that but need to get through those sections
Could you see any noticeable wear on the bottom of the pontoons? I'm debating on getting one but I'm worried that some of the shoals could tear the bottom up
Since I posted last I floated the Androscoggin in N New Hampshire, about 7 hrs or so, hitting about 4 sets of rapids, just class 1 and 2. I could have put in right about a class 3 run, but it was my first time on fast water. A mistake!! This boat was SO AWESOME and easy to handle!! I was doing 360's (for fun) in the middle of the class 2 and could hold my position if needed almost anywhere, if I had to. I never had any trouble at all. Until it got low enough to touch an oar on some rocks, it was awesome!! I'm going to go looking for a release and do less fishing next time!!
Thanks for the video as I live in the Reno, NV. area and just found out there's bass around here. Before, I was driving 2 hours into Calif. Was looking at tube floats at first, but didn't care to get my ass wet and then it was inflatable boats, but wasn't too sure about their stability/durability. Then thought of inflatable pontoon boats. but wondered about stability in waves, not that they get high on the ponds/lakes I'm fishing, but still.... your video has put my mind at ease about this.
One more thing, next I plan to practice picking a spot and dropping an anchor and standing up in the run and try drifting to particular boulders and casting into backflows that would have been unreachable without a wicked line drag before. But I'll rig the anchor with a pull back cord of course to aid retrieval.
Very cool, love the wet hero cam shots! I've also got a FishCat pontoon boat, a 10IR stand up, were you guys on 8's or 10's? Looks very stable, I can't wait to try I river like that!! Sure there's fishing as well, but between holes, that's the way to travel!!
I have the 10IR and my buddy was in a FishCat 9'. There is fishing in there, but the river was running pretty high so we didn't have much luck. It was worth the trip just for the float.
SALUDOS DESDE ESPAÑA

Nice sharing👍🏻
What's better a colorado xt, or the fish cats???
Probably a little late but the Fish Cats are miles better than the Colorado, IMO Buck's Bags builds the best boat on the market but they are $$$.
I have two of these. I need the canvas covers for the bladder. On one of mine. Were can I find the canvases

How long did it take to float from Minam to Troy? What time of year was that? Cool video!

Will that pfd strapped behind you save your GEAR?
Its sure not going to do him a bit of good.
Coming from someone who's got into trouble on a river I can tell you it's deadly. Yikes stay safe guys.

connorm2223 what time of year i live here and wanna float it but am a beginner and want it a tad lower than that for my first run
The river was a bit high. How was the fishing?
cool little video. Personally, I liked the music too!
Good place for pfd to be.
how come your not wearing your life jacket? its strapped behind you. kinda of dumb going through rocky rapids.
The life jacket is on your boat and not you???
You better respect mother nature. Sad to see people being so ignorant and irresponsible.
I didn't think they did an extended version of 'the most annoying song in the world' but apparently they did. Nice video on mute😉
Music is annoying
You guys need oar rites
Nobody NEEDS Oar-Rites if they want to use oars correctly. Good for training, but other than that they are a crutch for beginners.
