Might be unpopular but I found the items actually useful for making nightclub raves in a warehouse. Random glitter, neon lights, party lights. You definitely need university for keg stands to help further the vibe but it worked really well!
I think she meant it more in the way that while they’re great for parties and the like, you really have to think outside the box to work them into more casual builds. She’s thinking about it more from a “is this pack going to be something you use regularly” perspective for those who don’t buy many packs and want to know if it’s something worth buying. It’s definitely pretty versatile in the realm of different kinds of parties and events it can be used for. it’s just not necessarily something you’ll be building with all the time like some of the other packs are.
some people also mentioned that this is more towards community lots or events - clubs, karaoke, prom, graveyard, arcade, gaming, etc. if in normal house, maybe a gaming room.
That tile wall is so good for kitchen backsplash. All the kitchen wallpapers 'intended' for that don't go high enough! Or the pattern doesn't seem like tile or is mega busy. I love some basic tiny squares.

Although it has been before, which gave it the reach to be come a really popular staple choice in some areas like the southwestern US where I’m from 🤠 Kayla just has her blue suburban sensibilities and it’s quite a bold and saturated warm tone color for her, I can see why it wouldn’t align with her personal tastes and that’s totally ok. I realized in 2015 when Pantone’s Color of the Year was Marsala, a faded maroon, that pinky-orangey-red colors tend to complement and bring out most every skin tone which is just so lovely! (Idk how well it that logic applies to alien and plant sims though!) Anyways that’s my 2 cents and then some ✌️
It used to be in fashion (at least where I live) in the early 2000s as an outside colour. I live in a place where the stone from the surrounding mountains have a little pink hue to them. They aren't like bright pink of course, they just have a warmer tone than simple gray. So a lot of the houses have pinkish stone foundations and they used this bright paint on the walls and it was wild, but I liked it.

This is actually one of my favorite builds you've made, it has a lot of personality, I love the backpacks in the kids' rooms, the color scheme, everything about it, definitely doesn't seem like a base game + party kit build, it looks very polished and pretty!
5:39 Honestly, if you made a second version of this house where you go through and use whatever you want from any pack, I'd watch that too. I'm absolutely loving the vibe so far so I'd love to see what it looks like fully to your vision, or as close as the Sims lets you get.
Also it's definitely not weird to have an urn on your fireplace or shelf, lol. That's exactly what they're for. Two of my uncle's and two childhood dogs live in decorated places on our bookshelf.
I know Kayla won't see this, but a tip for anyone else that sees this, the balloons that go on the wall work like a curtain rod. Both of the types of streamers and the flat LED lights slot under it perfectly. Also, you can layer the LED light sheet, the both types of streams, and the backdrop poster with the balloons at the top, so that's 5 layers you can combine in any combinations, and the balloons tie it in to look cohesive. You don't need move objects to slot the layers.
Tbh the urn over the sofa is kinda a vibe,,,,my mom has at least one set of pet ashes in her kitchen, you’re absolutely right, they gotta go somewhere!
My suggestion- use the party essentials kit to either improve the Auditorium lot for prom OR to build a roller rink or a bowling alley with a birthday party area using the pack for those items and the kit.
I wasn't interested until I watched Lilsimsie's video yesterday. The things that stood out for me were the dance floor (for the same reasons that she said she liked it, although I do like the fancy dance floors for some builds), the tile wall things (yes! It's going to be great in kitchens), and the bar (which, for a change, doesn't have weird textures for all of the swatches. It does have some textures, but to have a plain bar is lovely!) So, I bought the kit. (Fortunately, I had some birthday money set aside specifically for Sims things.)
My great grandmother's ashes were kept in an upper cabinet of our kitchen for over 20 years. Her ashes were spread when I was in high school and it was a great way to be able to honor her. She had raised her kids (my grandpa and his brother) in the house and that was her dream kitchen and she would've thought it was a great idea (apparently!)

The dance floor myth comes from at least in part Satch on Sims, who tested it and wasn't able to dance on his TH-cam video. The option was greyed out in his video, but upon closer inspection, I'm quite confident it was greyed out because there was no music playing as he tried in a base game house without a speaker. His reviews are sometimes very single-minded, like he goes in with an agenda.
I watched his video too and i also misunderstood how the floor worked and thought it wasn’t functional. I don’t think he had an agenda to make the kit come off bad ( he actually like kits). It just didn’t function the way he was expecting it to and he was going through quickly so he could get the review out.
The “dance” feature works. The same way it works to dance when you click a stereo. However the group dance or dance skill are still locked. So really the dance floor doesn’t add anything new that wasn’t already in the base game.

We would have been better off if they had gotten rid of those items and instead given us more wall heights. And instead one repeatsble clutter item. Like maybe a cluster of kazoos and confetti poppers that could be put multiple places in a party house.
The fog machine is my invisible disco floor. I'd love to hide that in a bush or a potted plant next to a pond or pool to give the water that early morning fog.
Worse thing about the Birthday cake, Is 'Age-up' and your Sim wants to run outside to age up, Like just do it where there's loads of space.... not outside.
@@Amity-park- It happens in builds with really tight spacing or the open space is taken up by clutter. It helps if you put the cake directly next to an empty 3x3 space indoors.
@@spacewolfcub oh well… that’s pretty typical of any sims thing that’s over cluttered in that case. I try to keep at least one counter clear of any clutter for example, so my sims can actually cook/food prep on it.
The house I lived in when I was in Florida for a year had a bathroom with 3 doors on it. Door to my bedroom, my brothers bedroom, and the family den. It was definitely weird to me. Every time you had to use that bathroom you had to lock all 3 doors.
When simsie makes the very reasonable point that kits are expensive and if you’re only getting one or two there are others that are better to get…I’m super glad I make a grown up salary and can buy whatever DLC I want
I agree, but also good to remember that everyone has different likes and dislikes. For example Simsie has many kits I'll likely never buy, but this party kit I personally think is the best kit there is (also worth noting it's as big as a stuff pack and half the price!), so yes pick and choose don't feel you have to get them all, but pick and choose based on what you like not what someone else says you should get. Simsie is awesome, but it doesn't mean her opinions will always be the same as yours or mine :-)

The urn situation to me is hilarious bc in one of the other sims creator communities I follow (caryn and connie- mainly builders and super awesome! I highly recommend) we constantly bug them in twitch chat to add urns to builds for no specific reason other than well we simply yearn for the urn

i'm a huge mid century girlie. not mid century modern, just straight up mid century. i love all of the funkiness of it, there's always so much character! this build is straight up mid century, and i am 1000% here for it. def one of my most favorite simsie builds. awesome work!

Literally stayed in a house last night with a Jack and Jill styled bathroom. I’ve seen them a few times in my life. Also, glad to hear you agree that kits are expensive, I see a lot of Simmers online telling us that “they’re only 5 bucks” like everyone lives the same kind of life in the same country.
I watch these builds and all I can think about is how I need a tutorial on how to manage the cameras, camera angles, and all the shortcuts to moving objects with such freedom/ease.
Great build, Simsie!! I think something they could have done with the weird yogurt dispenser lol is if your sims could make a big batch of drinks at the bar, "carry" it over to the dispenser, and then have like 12 servings in there that sims could drink in little party cups. (Modders pls 😭)
I wasn't expecting to like this kit when it was announced but you've convinced me with this lol, i'm such a sucker for mid century modern houses. I love the bar, the record player, and that TV I'm definitely gonna use those CONSTANTLY
Being raised in the 70s this is so on point...I would actually love for the Sims to make a kit for the era with the shag carpet, the oranges, browns, and yellows, boho deco, the big hair (😂), platform shoes and the fashion style in general...I think that would be such a fun concept to include...plus of course the big windows and outside stuff...EVERYONE had a skateboard, roller skates, or a banana seat bike...I absolutely love this build❤

Honestly, I hate making parties in the sims since forever. But I still think the items in this kit are very useful for other things. Discos, teen rooms, warehouses, and the table and bar are discreet enough to go in any house. Personally, I really wanted a casual clothed table for a while. And the discoball? It's been in my top3 wishlist for soooo long. I honestly give this kit a 8/10
Make a venue rather than redecorating your home repeatedly, and decorate in a colour scheme that you feel fits most occasions. I made a party venue for all ages and occasions with this kit (dance hall in black and gold with dj booth, rainbow kids birthday room in the back, bar upstairs with balcony over dance floor, bathrooms with baby changing, and full kitchen including chefs station), and it's suitable for birthdays at all ages, Christmas parties, new years, after wedding parties, and more. So much better than house parties
I really liked the bold choice of colors, I know you usually don't use fancy and bright colors anywhere that's not the children's room, so its so cool to see them being used elsewhere❤ Also I'm a base game green toilet stan🐸
I love it when you make one level houses! Then I actually play in them. Imma def download this and redecorate (since I don't have the kit). I literally never use multi-floor homes in the sims :)
This would make an amazing rental party house! Or a house for an insider or party animal family, and someone mentioned that its super 70s and I’m living for it. This was an awesome build! Making me wanna buy the kit just for this house lol
with the pedestal, the second biggest cake gripe after the counter placement is making sure your sims don’t take a slice before you put candles on etc, so the pedestal can be a good place to have the cake ready but not consumable by your silly sims
I love it. I wish you could put a cake anywhere and be able to age Sims up. Perhaps the idea of it not working on a cake stand is toddlers couldn't reach it when they can when on the counter. Who knows but it's annoying to have to put a cake in a certain spot just for birthday candles. lol. I like the pack and will buy I'm sure.
You did a great job using the kit. I personally don't usually do parties for my sims, and when I do they don't get decorations. So it isn't useful to me but I'm glad you'll have extra items for your legacy let's play
I bought the new packs purely for the colourful stuff 😂 I wanted all of those neon lights and things from the party pack, and the CAS kit with Ebonix has some of the prettiest swatches I've seen outside of CC.
This is my new favourite pack, I love almost everything in it (except the light that sticks out from the wall that disappears in some angles), but I'd like to let people know that when sims sit at the new bar their knees merge inside it as its not a missing shelf its a filled in under shelf area

i'm a huge mid century girlie. not mid century modern, just straight up mid century. i love all of the funkiness of it, there's always so much character! this build is straight up mid century, and i am 1000% here for it. def one of my most favorite simsie builds. awesome work!
i actually love this house, its got very 70's disco era, looks like you could plug it into any Las Vegas neighborhood with Bob and Midge 70s Show type people in it

Great build, Simsie!! I think something they could have done with the weird yogurt dispenser lol is if your sims could make a big batch of drinks at the bar, "carry" it over to the dispenser, and then have like 12 servings in there that sims could drink in little party cups. (Modders pls 😭)

Being raised in the 70s this is so on point...I would actually love for the Sims to make a kit for the era with the shag carpet, the oranges, browns, and yellows, boho deco, the big hair (😂), platform shoes and the fashion style in general...I think that would be such a fun concept to include...plus of course the big windows and outside stuff...EVERYONE had a skateboard, roller skates, or a banana seat bike...I absolutely love this build❤

Honestly, I hate making parties in the sims since forever. But I still think the items in this kit are very useful for other things. Discos, teen rooms, warehouses, and the table and bar are discreet enough to go in any house. Personally, I really wanted a casual clothed table for a while. And the discoball? It's been in my top3 wishlist for soooo long. I honestly give this kit a 8/10
Make a venue rather than redecorating your home repeatedly, and decorate in a colour scheme that you feel fits most occasions. I made a party venue for all ages and occasions with this kit (dance hall in black and gold with dj booth, rainbow kids birthday room in the back, bar upstairs with balcony over dance floor, bathrooms with baby changing, and full kitchen including chefs station), and it's suitable for birthdays at all ages, Christmas parties, new years, after wedding parties, and more. So much better than house parties

I really liked the bold choice of colors, I know you usually don't use fancy and bright colors anywhere that's not the children's room, so its so cool to see them being used elsewhere❤ Also I'm a base game green toilet stan🐸

This would make an amazing rental party house! Or a house for an insider or party animal family, and someone mentioned that its super 70s and I’m living for it. This was an awesome build! Making me wanna buy the kit just for this house lol
with the pedestal, the second biggest cake gripe after the counter placement is making sure your sims don’t take a slice before you put candles on etc, so the pedestal can be a good place to have the cake ready but not consumable by your silly sims
I love it. I wish you could put a cake anywhere and be able to age Sims up. Perhaps the idea of it not working on a cake stand is toddlers couldn't reach it when they can when on the counter. Who knows but it's annoying to have to put a cake in a certain spot just for birthday candles. lol. I like the pack and will buy I'm sure.

I absolutely love this kit and this house. While it’s very 70s I can see this being easily changed to a TS house too.
You did a great job using the kit. I personally don't usually do parties for my sims, and when I do they don't get decorations. So it isn't useful to me but I'm glad you'll have extra items for your legacy let's play

This is my new favourite pack, I love almost everything in it (except the light that sticks out from the wall that disappears in some angles), but I'd like to let people know that when sims sit at the new bar their knees merge inside it as its not a missing shelf its a filled in under shelf area
my grandma is on the shelf above our tv with all the other clutter, plants and family photos etc. I think its totally fine!!!
