Right? I have enough different bottles to do my nails every day for the rest of my life, but there will always be one more thing that will work better or look prettier. This is only balanced out by finally finding the one product that is the right consistency, cures properly, has the right color and sheen and basically gets used every time. If it were sanitary to do so, I would trade my open stuff with other nail techs just so we can all find the one that works best for us.

I used a figure of speech called hiperbole (not sure how it's called in English), so I thought that the joke would be understood by context, no need of an emoji.
Thank you for this video. The design you did was absolutely beautiful and elegant. I often find that when you recreate a nail design, you can make it your own. The original creator provides the blueprint or inspiration but you can add or take away from the design and make it your own. To all who are reading this...don't be discouraged when you are unable to "copy" what you see but be inspired to recreate something new from the original design.💖 God bless you!!
I feel ya. Just finished my right hand with my non-dominant left hand and while it's beautiful, it always takes so much effort. I wear my sets as long as I can so I don't have to do it too often, but still maintain them so clients don't question my skills. 😅
I really appreciate you showing the side view of your nails. It helps me know how big my humps should be and the correct shape all around. I mean, when we are out in the real world, people aren't just viewing our nails from the top down all the time. They see our nails from all different angles. Tatyana is one of the few that show the shape of the nails from all angles. I thank you for that! Your nails are beautiful!

It looks like the design is a few different cat eyes used together, and the pic was snapped in just the right way to bring out the beautiful hues in the cat eyes.
In ALL the nail prep videos I have watched this is the first one with the silicone buffing bit and what it’s used for. THANK YOU. Guess I would have figured it out EVENTUALLY when I had time to play around with all my bits but this was much better.
Please Tatyana, I’m so curious about this: the strength of this thin nails is because the quality of the gel, or because the structure? Back in time I learned not to do thin nails because they break, but now a days is in vogue. I haven’t try it yet, but I’m afraid to do it on clients. It’s the structure of the nail. She formed the perfect apex where the nail is drawing its strength. She’s also using quality builder gel. Hope that helps!

hello! you didn't use a top coat after the touch-up with builder gel in the end. i was wondering if you have to use a top coat after or if you can just leave them with the builder gel as the last layer?
they are the stalex disposable files, I looove them for the natural nail, but to file bulk or refine the nail shape I wouldn't recommend it, for that just stick to regular 1 use nail file.
Staleks papmam usually have the logo branding on the paper though so maybe it's a different brand? Or just older stock. I gotta say though, I actually really like the Staleks for shaping extensions as well. The metal base is sturdy so it's easy to file a straight shape but also thinner than disposable files so it tucks into every corner perfectly. They're also not sharp, I've completely stopped taking a second file to score the edges and still, no cuts on the skin. They're available as single and double sided and in all standard grits. Obviously if you do intend on filing extension pick a suitable grit. The only downside is that you're obviously restricted to straight files. If you like curved or half moon files you only have the choice between single use or stick and peel systems.
So excited to see a new video by you guys. I've missed them. 💜 so... when you stabbed the block with the cuticle bit, was that to clean it? Will that work with the little tear drop diamond bit too? I need to try it now. 🙂
could you add the legth of time it takes for you to do your nails both on yourself and for clients. I'm always so intrigued to see how much time it takes. I'm an amateur and I pretty much have to set aside the day to do mine or my friends nails because it takes literally hours
I'm not the one who made this video but I wanted to put my two cents haha For me personally it takes like 2 or 3 days 😭 I set aside like 2 hours one day for removal and cuticle care, then the next I slam on the nails which takes about 2 hours for prep and putting them on and it can take 2-6 hours for polish depending on if it's a crazy design or not. All together I would say it takes me 6-10 hours but Im sure if I put my mind to it I could do a simpler set in like 4 hours but Im just so OCD about my nails so it takes long
I can't wait to do my nails. Super allergic to Hema. It has been an arduous project. Not putting nails on. Some would think that would be quite easy.. for those of us that love nails it's quite difficult. My nails are healed. And I'm allowing the full growth to completely grow out. I've been trimming my nails the whole time. And I have about 3 weeks to go... In the meantime. I am looking for a dehydrator, and protein It doesn't have Hema. I think I have found one but I'm a bit nervous because it's out of the country. I'm quite nervous to buy something that doesn't have a dollar sign on it. Some individuals would say buy it with your credit card. Yeah I'm not part of that system never have been never will. Does anyone know of any good dehydrator or protein bond that you can buy in America that is hema-free?.. Okay I've checked out the products. I'm a little confused. I can't find the ingredients. Of course. I feel like I'm looking for a needle in a haystack. Are those hema-free?
Try “Light Elegance,” I found them from the channel “the nail hub,” the nail tech on the channel is so articulate about ingredients and is extremely knowledgable in chemistry - I think she’s done a whole series on HEMA free products, and I know “Light Elegance” is a brand that was created by a chemist husband and nail tech wife - and the products truly are excellent. Have a look and see what you think. Good luck with your journey - the HEMA allergy is so horrible to have, I really hope you can get back to beautiful nails ❤
@@Temblett1 thank you so very much. It's so confusing... I will most certainly check this out. I must say, my fingers have healed lovely. Underneath the nail beds the skin around them. All is good... I'm just allowing the last little growth of my nail to completely grow out. No rash no peeling of skin. No yeast fungi or bacteria everything is good.. not saying there is any problems with that but just in case. I threw the kitchen sink at my nails.. Thank you so much for your information. I swear it's like tiptoeing through forest. With a whole bunch of vicious animals waiting for the pounce...

@@Temblett1 I'm already loading my cart up thank you.. after that experience better safe than sorry. That was scary. I'm a Virgo. I'm heavy on details but I don't like to be nitpicky to others. I don't want to come off as it has to be. To someone else. It has to be for me. And I could not find a single nail tech that could do my nails. Cleanly. I found a nail tech that did the shape and style of nail that I love. But she was so messy. I would come home, and I started realizing oh my gosh their lamps must be old or need cleaned because my products are not completely curing. And. I was constantly cleaning up. Around my nails. Side walls underneath. One time she painted my nails underneath. And that's where everything went downhill.. extremely fast. I was heartbroken. Finding products that weren't reactive. God love her. I caught her using her old brush. With my new product. And I'm like, darling I don't trust your products I have to be hema-free. Poor thing wouldn't step outside of her comfort zone. So here I am jumping down the rabbit hole... I'm quite proud of myself. My goodness it's not that hard to do your own nails. The gel products that they have today. The ability to use a form. I should have been doing this a long time ago. Haha But I have to say I love visiting my nail tech. Even though she's not that good... I thought to myself. Why not, go get my own license. Come to find out. They don't give a license for gel product in my state. Which is ridiculous.. And that I would have to use acrylic. And I don't want to use acrylic. I would rather use gel it's much easier cleaner quicker. I find doing form nails gives a more natural look. As well, the products just seem stronger and better to me. Especially whenever you cure them properly. My state does not hand out a license for any gel. And I said to them, do you think you need to change? I said do you realize, there is one family that owns nine nail salons in our town? Do you realize the monopolization of Chinese acrylic nail products and products with Hema within our nail tech industry? The woman was quite rude and picky on the phone. I couldn't believe that this is someone that I'm calling to get educated on. And she was frankly short with me because if I can handle it maybe that's just not the industry for me. What? Where is the uproar within our industry? Where is the state support of women that I see over and over again that see my nails and go oh my gosh what happened to your nails. Allergies. And they tell me yeah me too. I'm not kidding you. And a 20 mi radius in my town, I know at least 100 women. That would love to have their nails done without worry of allergy. The way we have to tiptoe through this market. Why does this have to be such a backdoor event. Why is this being pushed aside and sacrificed under an umbrella of such hush hush information.. I'm flabbergasted. I'm really proud of UK. For putting their foot down. So many women with allergies and problems. And they finally put a ban on issues and chemicals in their products. China doesn't own them. China owns us. Literally. And I'm absolutely flabbergasted. I'm like, where do I even start on this? Would I go to a state representative? Would I get a lawyer? How do you start a school that is accredited and the proper use of these gel products and licensing so that you may build your own business without having to live under a thumb of you've got to wear gloves which is absolutely ridiculous. For nails. I can understand feet because of fungal issues. But if someone has a fungal issue on their finger. As a nail tech you should look at them and be like no you need to heal and this is what you need to do. We need to take off these nails and your nails need to heal and you need to use these products. I will see you in a few months. Give yourself 3 months... I feel like I'm at a rock and a hard spot. I see a perfect niche opening and I don't know how to get my footing in the door. Because I would love. To be able to open up my own business. Doing beautiful nails. Allergy-free. If I can do my own fingernails and get that many compliments. I like quite long nails.. And I'm an artist. The details are what I love. Aesthetic of line. Aesthetic of balance and color. Aesthetic that yes sometimes everything can be too much.. and truly the aesthetic of care. How one takes care of their fingers is quite important. I found complete lack thereof within the nail community all around me. That's terrible. I think having a nail tech gel school. Is very important. The utmost important. I have to say though if I was getting into the nail industry. I'm sorry I would never do anyone's feet.. many people do not care for themselves like they should. And I wouldn't risk getting an infection and having to wear gloves. My nail tech, of course she makes that money in doing mani pedi the whole nine yards. And I only did it for her. I knew she's trying to make money. And in today's society. I'm all for supporting someone especially that she has to hand over 50% of her earnings to the boss that actually owns all of the nail salons in our town and next town over. On both sides of us.. They also own the two sushi restaurants in town. As well as a pho restaurant. Absolutely brilliant to build your business for your family. That there's a job for anyone and everyone. Building a family empire. I get that. But I feel like I'm locked under the thumb, of toxic products. A toxic work environment, as well as educational. It's sad that our industry cares more about pumping out individuals as fast as they can. And I explained to my tech. I would rather spend $180 on extremely detailed good nails. Then a quick service of nails and feet. That isn't up to par. I had to ask her. Can I pay you for more time and more detail. That's sad. Every nail tech should be looking at their client's nails as if they are their own. I'm not saying spend 6 hours on someone's nails. But if those details that could take an extra 15 to 20 minutes. Need to be added on. That's valid. Especially with the products not supposed to be touching the skin. Makes me shake my head. Quantity over quality. And an industry that seems to have shackles. How do we break from this? How do we bring change to this? I don't know where to start. Cuz literally. I would love to see this industry change. And it has to start by grassroots. Just how in the world do we go about doing that? 😂🤣😆
@@MzClementine I absolutely agree with needing the right products and I think that the more educated people get, the better the standard of the work gets…gone are the days when people solely need to rely on their beauty school educator like I did 25 years ago, with these nail masters on TH-cam now, the education that’s available any time of the day is the best in the world. And like you say, the products are only getting better, cleaner, more user friendly. I think though that there will always be people who sadly few they have to keep their prices low, but that means they need to cut corners and speed is of the essence. Like you - I’d rather pay for a top pro to spend 2 hours, and know that I was in good hands. They are about; but they are much more rare than the shops that are about speed and high turnover. At the moment though, you’re right - it’s absolutely the Wild West when it comes to what’s allowed on your skin, just like aesthetics - anyone can get a diploma to inject into your face without any experience, it’s frightening. Guess it’s up to us to be clued up, know specifically what we want and have detailed education behind it to make the right choices. Best of luck with you nails hun! ❤️
The timing really depends on your gel and lamp. So it's really hard to say from afar when you need to pinch. 10-15 seconds is a good place to start though. Pull them after that and carefully test if you can pinch or if the extension is still too soft. If it feels like it would collapse under the pinch clip then cure for another 5-10 seconds and try again. I've found the heat spike to usually be a good indicator. Pull the nail out when you can feel it just starting to get hot and that often seems to be the sweet spot for pinching. It can be really fiddly and annoying to learn the timing but once you've figured out how long it takes for your products it gets a lot easier. You'll get there with some patience.
I am so curious..I see you doing your nails with your non-dominant hand..but after years of experience working with your non-dominate hand..do you kind of become ambidextrous? Or does that skill o my translate to doing nails but no other activities..?
I’m only at the start of your video, but the reason you can’t match that persons nail design is because they used them powders but on top they covered it with that milky gel. You know the gel that’s not white but a milky colour. Try that and you’ll see you’ll get the same affect. Edit… so I just watch the end result of your nails and what’s crazy is your Subconscious was actually trying to tell you that all you needed for the first nail look you wanted was the milky gel, as you literally mixed the white n clear together to make a milky colour. But you didn’t pick up on it. It’s mad watching it n seeing the answer for your nails that you wanted was there in front of you but he did not make the connection.
Please! Don’t file your natural nails this way. They are delicate and you’re sawing them like wood! Hang nails on the side wall are caused by sawing your nails and not filing them properly. ONLY file in one direction. You’re welcome 😉

It's because of the structure. Of course the gel needs to be decent, but even the best gel in the world wouldn't work with a weak structure

I think I saw someone do the design you saw. I think they used pigment powders and glitter topcoat.

have you tried sistaco for their purples and blues and blending, i was able to replicate it using sistaco and so pretty chemical free systems

Yes, she was cleaning the bit. Works for diamond bits. Pink Eraser for the carbide bits using a shaving motion.

@@Temblett1 thank you so very much. It's so confusing... I will most certainly check this out. I must say, my fingers have healed lovely. Underneath the nail beds the skin around them. All is good... I'm just allowing the last little growth of my nail to completely grow out. No rash no peeling of skin. No yeast fungi or bacteria everything is good.. not saying there is any problems with that but just in case. I threw the kitchen sink at my nails..

@@Temblett1 I'm already loading my cart up thank you.. after that experience better safe than sorry. That was scary. I'm a Virgo. I'm heavy on details but I don't like to be nitpicky to others. I don't want to come off as it has to be. To someone else. It has to be for me. And I could not find a single nail tech that could do my nails. Cleanly.
I found a nail tech that did the shape and style of nail that I love. But she was so messy. I would come home, and I started realizing oh my gosh their lamps must be old or need cleaned because my products are not completely curing. And. I was constantly cleaning up. Around my nails. Side walls underneath. One time she painted my nails underneath. And that's where everything went downhill.. extremely fast. I was heartbroken. Finding products that weren't reactive. God love her. I caught her using her old brush. With my new product. And I'm like, darling I don't trust your products I have to be hema-free. Poor thing wouldn't step outside of her comfort zone. So here I am jumping down the rabbit hole...
I'm quite proud of myself. My goodness it's not that hard to do your own nails. The gel products that they have today. The ability to use a form. I should have been doing this a long time ago. Haha But I have to say I love visiting my nail tech. Even though she's not that good...
I thought to myself. Why not, go get my own license. Come to find out. They don't give a license for gel product in my state. Which is ridiculous.. And that I would have to use acrylic. And I don't want to use acrylic. I would rather use gel it's much easier cleaner quicker. I find doing form nails gives a more natural look. As well, the products just seem stronger and better to me. Especially whenever you cure them properly. My state does not hand out a license for any gel. And I said to them, do you think you need to change? I said do you realize, there is one family that owns nine nail salons in our town? Do you realize the monopolization of Chinese acrylic nail products and products with Hema within our nail tech industry? The woman was quite rude and picky on the phone. I couldn't believe that this is someone that I'm calling to get educated on. And she was frankly short with me because if I can handle it maybe that's just not the industry for me. What? Where is the uproar within our industry? Where is the state support of women that I see over and over again that see my nails and go oh my gosh what happened to your nails. Allergies. And they tell me yeah me too. I'm not kidding you. And a 20 mi radius in my town, I know at least 100 women. That would love to have their nails done without worry of allergy. The way we have to tiptoe through this market. Why does this have to be such a backdoor event. Why is this being pushed aside and sacrificed under an umbrella of such hush hush information.. I'm flabbergasted. I'm really proud of UK. For putting their foot down. So many women with allergies and problems. And they finally put a ban on issues and chemicals in their products. China doesn't own them. China owns us. Literally.
And I'm absolutely flabbergasted. I'm like, where do I even start on this? Would I go to a state representative? Would I get a lawyer? How do you start a school that is accredited and the proper use of these gel products and licensing so that you may build your own business without having to live under a thumb of you've got to wear gloves which is absolutely ridiculous. For nails. I can understand feet because of fungal issues. But if someone has a fungal issue on their finger. As a nail tech you should look at them and be like no you need to heal and this is what you need to do. We need to take off these nails and your nails need to heal and you need to use these products. I will see you in a few months. Give yourself 3 months...
I feel like I'm at a rock and a hard spot. I see a perfect niche opening and I don't know how to get my footing in the door. Because I would love. To be able to open up my own business. Doing beautiful nails. Allergy-free. If I can do my own fingernails and get that many compliments. I like quite long nails.. And I'm an artist. The details are what I love. Aesthetic of line. Aesthetic of balance and color. Aesthetic that yes sometimes everything can be too much.. and truly the aesthetic of care. How one takes care of their fingers is quite important. I found complete lack thereof within the nail community all around me. That's terrible. I think having a nail tech gel school. Is very important. The utmost important. I have to say though if I was getting into the nail industry. I'm sorry I would never do anyone's feet.. many people do not care for themselves like they should. And I wouldn't risk getting an infection and having to wear gloves. My nail tech, of course she makes that money in doing mani pedi the whole nine yards. And I only did it for her. I knew she's trying to make money. And in today's society. I'm all for supporting someone especially that she has to hand over 50% of her earnings to the boss that actually owns all of the nail salons in our town and next town over. On both sides of us..
They also own the two sushi restaurants in town. As well as a pho restaurant. Absolutely brilliant to build your business for your family. That there's a job for anyone and everyone. Building a family empire. I get that. But I feel like I'm locked under the thumb, of toxic products. A toxic work environment, as well as educational. It's sad that our industry cares more about pumping out individuals as fast as they can. And I explained to my tech. I would rather spend $180 on extremely detailed good nails. Then a quick service of nails and feet. That isn't up to par. I had to ask her. Can I pay you for more time and more detail. That's sad. Every nail tech should be looking at their client's nails as if they are their own. I'm not saying spend 6 hours on someone's nails. But if those details that could take an extra 15 to 20 minutes. Need to be added on. That's valid. Especially with the products not supposed to be touching the skin. Makes me shake my head. Quantity over quality. And an industry that seems to have shackles. How do we break from this? How do we bring change to this? I don't know where to start. Cuz literally. I would love to see this industry change. And it has to start by grassroots. Just how in the world do we go about doing that? 😂🤣😆
@@MzClementine I absolutely agree with needing the right products and I think that the more educated people get, the better the standard of the work gets…gone are the days when people solely need to rely on their beauty school educator like I did 25 years ago, with these nail masters on TH-cam now, the education that’s available any time of the day is the best in the world. And like you say, the products are only getting better, cleaner, more user friendly. I think though that there will always be people who sadly few they have to keep their prices low, but that means they need to cut corners and speed is of the essence. Like you - I’d rather pay for a top pro to spend 2 hours, and know that I was in good hands. They are about; but they are much more rare than the shops that are about speed and high turnover. At the moment though, you’re right - it’s absolutely the Wild West when it comes to what’s allowed on your skin, just like aesthetics - anyone can get a diploma to inject into your face without any experience, it’s frightening. Guess it’s up to us to be clued up, know specifically what we want and have detailed education behind it to make the right choices. Best of luck with you nails hun! ❤️
I really struggle to pinch gel nails. Do you cute it for like 10secs, then pinch and cure fully?
The timing really depends on your gel and lamp. So it's really hard to say from afar when you need to pinch. 10-15 seconds is a good place to start though. Pull them after that and carefully test if you can pinch or if the extension is still too soft. If it feels like it would collapse under the pinch clip then cure for another 5-10 seconds and try again.
I've found the heat spike to usually be a good indicator. Pull the nail out when you can feel it just starting to get hot and that often seems to be the sweet spot for pinching.
It can be really fiddly and annoying to learn the timing but once you've figured out how long it takes for your products it gets a lot easier. You'll get there with some patience.

I am so curious..I see you doing your nails with your non-dominant hand..but after years of experience working with your non-dominate hand..do you kind of become ambidextrous? Or does that skill o my translate to doing nails but no other activities..?
I’m only at the start of your video, but the reason you can’t match that persons nail design is because they used them powders but on top they covered it with that milky gel. You know the gel that’s not white but a milky colour. Try that and you’ll see you’ll get the same affect.
Edit… so I just watch the end result of your nails and what’s crazy is your Subconscious was actually trying to tell you that all you needed for the first nail look you wanted was the milky gel, as you literally mixed the white n clear together to make a milky colour. But you didn’t pick up on it. It’s mad watching it n seeing the answer for your nails that you wanted was there in front of you but he did not make the connection.

Please! Don’t file your natural nails this way. They are delicate and you’re sawing them like wood! Hang nails on the side wall are caused by sawing your nails and not filing them properly. ONLY file in one direction. You’re welcome 😉
